Mythology Gag / Power Rangers Beast Morphers

Go To

  • The opening scene from the first episode starts out in a karate class in a youth center. Hmm...
  • The way Nate says "affirmative", his role as the team's Gadgeteer Genius, his overall personality and demeanor, even his appearance (right down to the glasses) seems to blatantly evoke Billy Cranston. He also says "Phenomenal" a lot, as a reference to the original Rangers' old catchphrase, "Morphinomenal." As of Source Code he's essentially the Beast Morphers version of Dr. K.
  • Ravi losing his girlfriend to something terrible, with the prospect of getting her back turning into motivation, actually mirrors some second-banana heroes from across toku, like Kamen Rider Knight, Kamen Rider Brave and LupinBlue.
    • Adding the fact that he was the only successful original candidate for a Super-Soldier experiment who lost his lover (another original candidate) to the villains mirrors Ryu Tendo/Red Hawk from Choujin Sentai Jetman.
  • In "Sound and Fury", Zoey and Nate see the film "Revenge of the Hydra Worm". In Power Rangers Mystic Force, the Hydra Worm was the second monster the Mystic Force Rangers faced. The Hydra Worm on the film's poster is, in fact, clearly the same critter.
  • A poster for a Levi Weston concert is seen in "Boxed In."
  • The same episode features the Pan Global Games, the Olympics stand-in first mentioned in Mighty Morphin'.
  • Glitz Magazine returns in "Secret Struggle," having been quite important in an episode of Lightspeed Rescue after having been seen once before in Lost Galaxy.
  • In "Target Tower", Mayor Daniels saves Ben and Betty from Tronics by attacking them with a shovel.
  • Steel's "death" in the finale, then subsequent return brings to mind Gem and Gemma (especially after it's revealed how much RPM is connected to Beast Morphers). But Steel's situation also resembles Mack's. An android ranger with human traits that goes for one last attack against the Big Bad, dies, and then gets brought back to life as a human. It also has a shade of Kendrix Morgan's death too, as she also went through a barrier to destroy a superweapon and becomes resurrected.
  • Also from the finale: After broadcasting the public evacuation message with the morphed Rangers, Zoey's reporter mother pleads to Commander Shaw to let Zoey, who as far as she knew was "just in laundry" to evacuate with her, and is indignantly unconvinced that her daughter is so necessary that she remains in danger. Zoey, who didn't leave the room immediately due to seeing her mother concerned over her, is given the OK by Commander Shaw to reveal herself to properly assure her mother. This is pretty much similar to Tommy being forced to reveal himself to his brother David to assure the latter of his safety.
