Trivia / Out Cold

Go To

  • Adored by the Network: Comedy Central played this movie all the time for a couple of years after it was released.
  • The Danza: Lee Majors plays John Majors. Interestingly, in the film it is mentioned that the character had a different surname at birth, namely Mankowitz.
  • Deleted Scene: Two scenes featuring Inga Victoria Silvstedt were cut from the film. One was an extended topless hot tub scene which was cut so that the film would get a PG-13 rating rather than R. The other scene was a three minute ending scene featuring Inga and Luke at his cabin.
  • Executive Meddling: The film was originally intended to be rated R, but late in the production the studio decided they'd rather have it be PG-13 to appeal to a broader demographic. As a result several scenes were edited or removed entirely.
  • Fake American: A.J. Cook, who plays Jenny, is Canadian.
  • Fake Nationality
    • Victoria Silvstedt is Swedish, but her character is Swiss.
    • Caroline Dhavernas is Canadian, but her character is French.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The song "Anytime" by Eve 6, which many consider to be one of the band's better songs, is only available on the Out Cold soundtrack (which is no longer in print). It was never released on any of Eve 6's albums.
  • Vindicated by Cable: For a couple of years after its release, Out Cold was played at least twice a week on Comedy Central, and sometimes more often than that during the winter. Many of the film's fans first saw it on television, due to the fact that it had a very brief theatrical run.
