- Dawson Casting: At the time of Season 1's filming, Chase Stokes was 27, Rudy Pankow and Madelyn Cline were 21, Jonathan Daviss and Madison Bailey were 20, Austin North was 22, and Drew Starkey was 25. All of them play teenagers aged 16-19.
- I Am Not Spock: Madison Bailey, who is pansexual in real life and has a girlfriend, has repeatedly asked people not to conflate her Outer Banks character Kiara with who she is in real life. As a corollary, she has also asked those who ship JJ and Kiara not to ship her with Rudy Pankow, who is a good platonic friend in real life.
