* TheDanza: Lee Majors plays John Majors. Subverted in that the latter was born with the surname Mankowitz.

** Caroline Dhavernas is Canadian, but her character is French.

* ActorAllusion: Barry is a former competitive snowboarder, as is the actor who plays him, Todd Richards.
** In addition to being a Playboy Playmate, Victoria Silvstedt (who plays Inga) used to be a member of Sweden's national ski team, so it's fitting that she'd be in a movie set on the slopes.

* BigNameFan: Creator/SeanPenn was reportedly a huge fan of this film, seeing it multiple times. Zach Galifianakis claims that he was personally requested by Penn to appear in ''Film/IntoTheWild'' based off his role in this movie.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: ''Out Cold'' was originally intended to be rated R, but late in the production the studio decided they'd rather have it be PG-13 to appeal to a broader demographic. As a result several scenes were edited or removed entirely.
