Trivia / Max0r

Go To

  • Blooper: During the V2 fight of "An Incorrect Summary of ULTRAKILL | Act 2", the wrong caption ("I WON'T GIVE YOU THE") was used for V2's outrage for being hit with his own arm ("I'LL TEAR YOU LIMB FROM LIMB!"), something Max0r himself points out in the comments.
  • Corpsing: It's easier to count the videos Max0r makes where someone, if not Max0r himself, doesn't audibly suppress their laughter at some point.
    • In his Bloodborne review, as he segues into "The Old Hunters," he bursts into giggles while saying the name Spore: Galactic Adventures.
    • Frequently happens throughout many of his videos, particularly in Part 2 of "An Incorrect Summary of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance", where both Sundowner and Armstrong's voice actors, and even Max0r himself can't help but crack up when they get to particular lines. Sundowner in particular can't say almost any pedo jokes with a straight face. This is passed off as them having a mental breakdown.
    • In "Elden Ring Part 1," Max0r's different names for Raya Lucaria Academy make him break into giggles. He calls it "Malaysia/Raging Lucario."
    • Also frequently happens throughout "An Incorrect Summary of ULTRAKILL Act 1". His biggest ones coming from his Vampire Piston punchline, warning viewers to not google Danger Force Season 2 Episode 1, and only barely restrains himself from bursting into full on laughter when he describes the Gluttony level as like "Nutty Putty Cave for Osmosis Jones", or when the monster from 0-S: SOMETHING WICKED asks if he has any games on his phone. During Act 2 when Max0r tells the audience that there is indeed an officially endorsed mod that adds support for buttplugs that vibrate to the gameplay, Gianni is breaking down trying to read the line in character as Gabriel.
  • Creator Backlash: Max0r doesn't look back fondly on his pre-Control videos, judging from a comment pinned to each of them lamenting that the editing and voice work on display are not up to his current standards.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices:
    • All over the place with female characters. It is more notable when they are voiced by a woman (Nico, Mistral, Ranni, Lady Tanith, Katheryne, Nahida, Ashley), and Max0r himself never bothers trying to sound like a woman when he voices one. He also claims to be a small, blonde anime girl at times and portrays himself as such.
    • In the Elden Ring videos specifically, Gianni Matragrano voices Melina, Jimothy Ross voices Rennala, and Russian Badger voices Finger Reader Enia. None of them bother to hide the fact that they are guys.
    • Conversely, Wes voices Bitores Mendez in the first part of his Resident Evil 4 (Remake) series while doing nothing to disguise her natural register.
  • Meme Acknowledgment: The "my source is I made it the fuck up!" meme from the Metal Gear Rising video would eventually be dubbed by both Raiden and Armstrong's real voice actors.
  • Production Posse: Starting with "Metal Gear Rising," there have been recurring voice actors in his works. Those names are Jimothy Ross, FunnyWes, Gianni Matragrano, TheRussianBadger, Uberdanger, SsethTzeentach and Martincitopants
  • Role Reprise:
    • In a crossover-review example, Max0r, Gianni Matragrano, and Jimothy Ross all play the same characters (Monsoon, Senator Armstrong, and Sundowner respectively) in both Max0r's and Jimothy's Metal Gear Rising Revengeance videos.
    • Gianni Matragrano reprises his role as Gabriel in Max0r's Ultrakill episodes.
    • Despite Max0r saying otherwise, Mandalore does reprise his role as the Mysterious Druid Knight in Act 2 of the Ultrakill videos.
  • Throw It In!: Notably, the video for Ace Combat Zero has a comment where Max0r goes into detail of its production, also highlighting parts that weren't planned but made it in anyway:
    • Pixy's brief Motive Rant at the start of one of the missions was the result of him going off script during a recording take.
Pixy: You know Cipher, this is a beautiful country. I think I would kill to be able to visit here without a passport, or border security, or even formal laws.
    • Two of the gags in the video, those being the clip of a The Incredible Hulk (2008) Burger King commercial and Belka biting into the Crazy Hamburger, were taken from things he was sent over Discord while editing.
    • PJ's horribly distorted voice happened by complete accident, but he found it too funny to fix and just left it that way. This is also the reason why he cracks up during one of his lines, and resulted in PJ getting less lines than originally intended as hearing him speak for long periods would quickly become annoying.
    • An emulator issue during the final battle caused the explosions from Pixy's missiles to render with a solid black square around them. After trying for a while to fix it, he gave up and used them as a joke instead.
      Pixy: EAT MY SQUARE EXPLOSIONS!
  • Troubled Production:
    • As explained in "An Incorrect Summary of Elden Ring | Part 1", while recording footage for the video, a corruption happened to Max0r's drive, causing part of the video to be broken, forcing him to remake and re-record the footage from memory.
    • The Ultrakill video was delayed due to his house's water pipes bursting close to the time the Queen of England died, causing Max0r to joke that she was haunting his house's pipes as revenge for killing Prince Philip in his Bloodborne video.
    • The second Ultrakill part suffered this thanks to another water pipe explosion flooding his house, with Max0r himself pointing out on Twitter how the exact same problem hounds him again while making an Ultrakill video.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Max0r confirmed in an interview that he tried to reach out to the real Chills to voice Praetor Rykard in his second Elden Ring video, but literally one day after sending the message, Chills posted a Tweet confirming that he was in the hospital and out of commission for a while, leading to the role being done by Beatsir doing a Chills impression instead.
    • His second video on Genshin Impact was originally planned to be a sponsored advertisement for the game, but this ended up falling through because Hoyoverse never got back to Max when he reached out to them.
    • Originally, Max0r had planned on making a video on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. However, due to several complications in the process of making said video, he decided to scrap the project.
