Trivia / Killing Floor 2

• The Other Darrin: Ringmaster Lockhart, who was voiced by Jason Douglas in the first game, is voiced here by David Lodge.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: The old Trader from the first Killing Floor is canonically dead, and probably was rendered as such because her voice actress was a local that Tripwire staff knew but no longer are in contact with.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The initial idea for the 10th perk was "Urban Ninja", which would focus on bladed melee weapons. However, it was axed because it was too similar to the Berserker and was replaced with the Survivalist.
  • Crawlers were planned to be able to walk on walls and ceilings (which can be seen in the first zed trailer). The developers stated in a livestream that this was cut due to the complex navigation requirements causing various issues and harming compatibility with custom maps.
  • Various voice files contain references to a "Matriarch" boss, Objective mode as well as a Prestige system tied into resetting perk progression. All of these were eventually added through the course of several updates:
    • Prestige system was added with the summer update of 2018.
    • Objective mode came next in the summer update for 2019. In its current state however it uses none of the voice clips that were recorded before the game's release, instead opting for newer ones.
    • The Matriarch was introduced in the christmas update of 2019.
