• California Doubling: It's clearly set in the US, with characters mentioning Washington, Montana and California, but it was filmed in British Columbia by a Canadian production company (CMW Horizon) with a largely Canadian cast, which becomes obvious when you hear "sorry" constantly pronounced as "SOHR-ry" and see the high school's restrooms labeled as "washrooms".
• Dawson Casting: Most of the cast is well past their teens, with Matreya Scarrwener (Marybeth) and Jake T. Austin (Ray) both in their late 20s.
• Spoiled by the Format: The main story seems to be wrapped up with Miss Mitchell and Toby getting busted and Marybeth being vindicated and treated as a hero at the school, but wait: there's 10 minutes of screen time left in the film, an obvious clue that one more big Plot Twist is about to come...Ray was "@extracredit" all along.
