  • Breakout Hit: While Al Ewing had been a popular writer for Marvel up till that point, the huge critical and financial success of Immortal Hulk solidified him as one of the publisher's most beloved creatives.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Immortal Hulk #43 ultimately became this for Joe Bennett. Despite the critical acclaim for his take on the Hulk, Bennett inserted antisemitic artwork into the pages of the aforementioned issue. This, combined with other art-related controversies from recent years, destroyed his working relationship with Ewing and Marvel cut ties with him once Immortal Hulk had concluded.
