- Doing It for the Art: The decision to produce three different versions (Welsh, English, Bilingual) of the show simultaneously was motivated by a desire to showcase the Welsh language to the rest of the world. This led to some unexpected problems. The scripts were originally written in English before being translated into Welsh, but because Welsh conveys more information in fewer words than English, the Welsh scripts ended up being significantly shorter than the English ones. The creative team then had to find a way to pad out the Welsh dialogue so that all versions of the show had roughly the same running time.
- Recycled Set: Sort of. The building used for the exterior shots of the police station in Aberystwyth is a disused local authority building (which, as of 2024, is in the process of being converted into an apartment block). For a time, it was actually used as a police station (as well as a register office and a magistrate's court).
- Romance on the Set: In Real Life, Richard Harrington (who plays Matthias) is married to Hannah Daniel (who plays DS Owens).
