Trivia / Fairy Musketeers

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Kaori Shimizu voices both Hansel and Souta's mother in the OVA, although this is somewhat lessened by the fact that the two characters were never on screen with each other. This is averted in the anime, however, where she just voices Souta's mother/Trude.
  • Canon Foreigner: A number of characters, including Ibara, Gretel, Hamelin, and Randagio's Bremen gang are absent from the OVA. King Ferdinand is mentioned by name but is never seen in person until the first episode of the anime. Both Akazukin and Shirayuki introduce themselves as part of the Three Musketeers, hinting at Ibara's existence, but she never appears in the OVA proper either.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Souta and Randagio both have female voice actresses. Hansel is also voiced by a female voice actress in the OVA, but this is averted for the anime, where he is voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: It's safe to say that Konami isn't really interested in this franchise right now. The only part of it in print anywhere is the Crunchyroll upload of the TV Series. The soundtrack and audio drama CDs, manga, and light novels have never received any official uploads anywhere, and only the soundtrack and audio drama CDs were preserved by pirates during the show's lifetime.
    • Although all of these things are much easier to acquire than the Italian dub, which is almost completely missing save for an interview of the voice cast, itself hard to find.
  • He Also Did: Tsukushi Akihito, the series character designer, is also known as the writer and artist behind Made in Abyss.
  • No Dub for You: The official releases in the Anglosphere are all subtitle only.
  • No Export for You: Outside of Asia, the anime series was dubbed into Italian and released in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll. It didn't really come out anywhere else.
    • Now if you were looking at less official translated releases, you can add the OVA to the list of things translated to English, a single page of the manga... and nothing else.
  • The Merch: Inverted with the original OVA which came as a bonus for buying the figurine, played straight with the TV series which is aimed more at children.
  • The Other Darrin: Souta is voiced by voice actress Motoko Kumai in the OVA up to the anime's 25th episode, but is voiced by Yuko Sanpei from the 26th episode to the anime's end due to Kumai going on medical leave.
