- Author's Saving Throw:
- The "A Festival of Friendship" update adds and returns some features that were highly requested by players:
- Players are now able to customize and move the doors inside of their houses, following complaints about being stuck with the default green doors.
- Following backlash from players about the nerf, Kristoff's stall was adjusted to increase item limits and bring back unlimited coal.
- Training Manual crafting items were added which allow players to change the Companion Roles of level 10 Villagers.
- Since launch players have complained about how loud Donald's tantrums were, which consisted of him angrily quacking accompanied by the sound of steam and whistles that could be heard from quite a distance away. After supposedly adjusting things in the Halloween update (they actually became more frequent, but shorter in length) they removed the whistle sounds entirely in the Festival of Friendship update, making his flare-ups much more tolerable on the ears. They've since restored the whistles but reduced the volume and range of the sounds.
- After much complaining that Ursula being water bound made her hard to max out friendship with, Gameloft added her human form as a bundle.
- After complains about villagers pestering players to play Scramblecoin, Gameloft added an option in the settings to disable Scramblecoin requests.
- The "A Festival of Friendship" update adds and returns some features that were highly requested by players:
- Content Leak:
- Due to the live service nature of the game, it wasn't long until data miners leaked the list of some of the upcoming characters that could be found in the files, which included but was not limited to all of the missing characters that appeared in the launch trailer.
- Gameloft themselves accidentally sent out an in-game notification ad revealing that Ursula's human form Vanessa was coming to the game as a Dream Style a week or so before her arrival date.
- The Original Darrin:
- After Chris Evans took over as Buzz for Lightyear, Tim Allen steps into the shoes of the iconic toy once more for this game.note This also applies for Allen replacing Mike MacRae, who usually voices Buzz outside of the films.
- Moira Kelly makes her triumphant return voicing Nala (the first time in 18 years), after the character was voiced by other actresses such as Vanessa Marshall in Kingdom Hearts II, Gabrielle Union in The Lion Guard, and Beyoncé in the remake.
- After being replaced with Kelsey Lansdowne for Kingdom Hearts III, Mandy Moore returned to voice Rapunzel in a video game after four years in Dreamlight Valley.
- After being replaced with Christopher Swindle in Kingdom Hearts III and fellow Gameloft game Disney Speedstorm, John Goodman returns to voice Sulley in a video game for the first time since LEGO The Incredibles back in 2018.
- The Other Darrin: As for the characters who have new voice actors:
- None of the Frozen characters maintain their voice actors from the films.
- Danielle Bisutti replaces Idina Menzel as Elsa.
- Jake Green takes over from Josh Gad as Olaf.
- Matt Lowe assumes the role of Kristoff from Jonathan Groff.
- Abby Trott takes over as Anna from Kristen Bell.
- Jess Harnell replaces Dwayne Johnson as Maui.
- Laura Silverman replaces her sister Sarah Silverman as Vanellope von Schweetz.note
- None of the Frozen characters maintain their voice actors from the films.
- Posthumous Credit: This game, which had its early access release in September 2022, would mark Pat Carroll's final performance as Ursula before her death in July 2022.
- Pre-Order Bonus: Well, in this case, early access bonus; players who purchased a "Founder's Pack" or played the early access release on Xbox platforms or Windows PC with Game Pass got several bonus rewards. First-week playersnote also got a donut-styled Mickey Mouse ears headband and a "Choco Crocodile" (a pink crocodile with a sundae-based design) companion.
- Role Reprise: Many of the Disney characters are voiced by their original voice actors or by voice actors who regularly play them:
- Carlos Alazraqui as Mike Wazowski, from other video games starring the character.
- Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.
- Christopher Daniel Barnes as Prince Eric.
- Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel Madrigal.
- Jodi Benson as Ariel.
- Robby Benson as the Beast.
- Ben Burtt as WALL•E.
- Pat Carroll as (for the final time) Ursula.
- Cam Clarke as Simba, as he's done in various other spin-offs and Disney crossovers.
- Auli'i Cravalho as Moana.
- Barbara Dirikson as the Fairy Godmother from Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory.
- Jonathan Freeman as Jafar.
- John Goodman as Sulley.
- Jim Hanks as Woody, as per the tradition of him taking over from his brother outside the films.
- James Horan as Scar from Kingdom Hearts II.
- Moira Kelly as Nala.
- Elissa Knight as EVE.
- Mandy Moore as Rapunzel.
- Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel.
- Julie Nathanson as Belle from Kinect: Disneyland Adventures and, ironically enough, fellow Gameloft title Disney Speedstorm.
- Patton Oswalt as Remy.
- Enn Reitel as Scrooge McDuck from Kingdom Hearts III.
- Chris Sanders as his own creation, Stitch.
- Chris Sarandon as Jack Skellington.
- Richard White as Gaston.
- All the main Mickey & Friends characters maintain their current official voices; Bret Iwan as Mickey Mouse, Bill Farmer as Goofy, Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck, and Kaitlyn Robrock as Minnie Mouse.
- David Errigo Jr. reprises his role as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit from Disney Speedstorm.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: Stitch doesn't have any music from his films in the game because Gameloft would have to pay royalties to Alan Silvestri and Mark Kealʻi Hoʻomalu, note despite the fact that Disney Speedstorm has vocal remixes of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" and "He Mele No Lilo" as of that game's full release.
- Swan Song: This game is one for Pat Carroll, who voiced her iconic character Ursula one last time before her death a couple of months before the game's early access release.
- Unspecified Role Credit: The voice actors are listed in the credits without any of their roles attached to their names. While the presence of certain names such as Tim Allen, Pat Carroll, and Chris Sanders make it clear who they're voicing, other names are harder to figure out for those unfamiliar.
- Urban Legend of Zelda: Many players are exasperated to find Scrooge's shop selling the same items each day, leading to rumors of a hidden mechanic that could increase the chances of new items showing up in the shop, like giving Scrooge his favorite gifts each day and buying out the contents of the shop. These methods have been debunked through player tests, and the former was specifically debunked by the devs.
- What Could Have Been:
- Hidden game files reveal that Scrooge McDuck was supposed to have a proper house of his own—modeled after his famous money bin—before it was established that he would be just in his store 24/7.
- The game was originally going to go free-to-play when it left early access, but its unexpectedly huge success led to Gameloft deciding to keep it a pay-for title.
- Working Title: According to developer notes hidden in the game files, this game was originally titled My Disney Life.
