• Blooper: Teddy pisses all over the floor after he dies. The puddle of piss then overlaps onto the top of his desk, which realistically shouldn’t happen.
• Colbert Bump: Hieroglyphics' "After Dark" got a significant bump in interest after being used in a trailer for the PC version.
• Development Gag: Chuck Greene’s jacket◊ in this game is very similar to one of his earlier jacket designs from the development of Dead Rising 2.
• Executive Meddling: While Microsoft agreed to give Capcom extra funding for the game, increased marketing budget and an extra year in development in exchange for making it an exclusive Xbox One title (tought it saw a PC port a year later), they also demanded that the game should feature Kinect and Smart Glass features that the development team never had in mind. Capcom Vancouver had no choice but to agree beacuse moving the game to the Xbox One was the only way to save it from its troubled development.
• What Could Have Been
  • It was originally intended for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. However, technical problems with running their larger ideas like a seamless open world full of zombies, and the PS3's notoriously difficult to work with architecture held it back. The problems proved so bad that the game might've never released had Microsoft not asked Capcom for possible launch titles for their then-upcoming Xbox One.
  • In the files, there is an unused cutscene for what is called Ending X. The cutscene has Annie suddenly call out Nick for causing a lot of trouble, before a group of survivors appear, and call out Nick, before brutally beating him to death. It’s believed that this ending was probably intended as a form of Video Game Cruelty Punishment, also suggesting that survivors were originally not Friendly Fireproof.
  • Early plans for DLC would have been similar to Case West and would have explained Frank and Chuck's status postgame. One concept art◊ features Frank and a group of soldiers battling zombies and another shows◊ Chuck trying to get a supply of Zombrex from what appears to be a TK Expy.
