It's virtually impossible to list tropes for this game without spoiling everything or creating Self-Fulfilling Spoilers because of the large amount of twists and Murder Mystery-related tropes it contains.
- Corpsing: A variation in the English dub. Matthew Mercer sounds audibly uncomfortable as he delivers Haji's "I like them young" line.
- Crossdressing Voices: Makoto, Nagito, Masaru, Nagisa (also in English), and Jataro.
- Feelies: NIS America's Limited Edition includes a Warriors of Hope pin and tie clip, and Kurokuma's eye patch and tie. The Japanese Limited Edition includes a coffee mug.
- Playing Against Type:
- Monaca is nothing like the other performances that Aya Hirano has done.
- Ditto with Cristina Valenzuela. She is usually one of the good folks, but here she is one of the villains. Worse is that she is the Big Bad. And a high-caliber sociopathic Manipulative Bitch. Imagine Noel Vermillion with the mindset of Hazama/Terumi (and his hair color).
- Schedule Slip: Not the game itself, but it is likely the game is a factor into the delay of the third volume of Danganronpa Kirigiri until after the game's release, as her grandfather is part of the Kill List, indicating he is still alive, and The Reveal of the third volume is that he has been Dead All Along for several years, which would make his presence here confusing at best.
