Trivia / Code Geass: Paladins of Voltron

  • Dear Negative Reader:
    • After receiving numerous requests to update the story more frequently, Naruwitch exploded at two guest reviewers (known as Alcatraz and Ponds), telling them that she has other stories she is working on and has a life outside of writing anyway. She later had another warning note after some other reviewers asked that she take a break from working on Raise Your Voice Against Liars to focus on this story, outright daring them to write their own stories on their own schedule.
    • She also exploded at readers due to several expressing displeasure for using Original Character Commander Corza as the leader of the Galra forces that invade Earth with Charles’ blessing rather than one of the existing Galra minor characters, specifically Warlord Ranvag. Part of her defense was ironically the exact same reason that readers wanted him to lead the invasion of Earth - that he had been deployed to the most dangerous parts of the galaxy. Naruwitch pointedly stated that Zarkon considers Earth an important target, but not for someone of Ranvag’s caliber.
    • She's also admitted part of the reason she pumps out chapters faster for Raise Your Voice Against Liars! is because she's co-authoring that story, while she has to do all of the writing for this story.
    • Naruwitch made a point of noting that she would no longer accept guest reviews for this story due to continued vitriol toward her skills as a writer. She’s also made it clear that she was and still is considering deleting her account on FFN if these don’t stop.
  • Schedule Slip: The author doesn't have a set writing schedule, but generally tries to get one chapter out per month. She eventually put the story on hiatus while she redid the first few chapters, which is still ongoing as of April 2024, which she confirmed in a conversation with another author to be due to unexpected developments in real life.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original version of this story (posted on a separate story that was just a collection of plots the author was planning to write about) had Nina as one of the Paladins. Owing to her status as The Scrappy, the author instead decided to use Rai, and had Nina not join the student council when they found the Blue Lion due to 'other activities.' Given that the council found the Blue Lion on the outskirts of Lake Kawaguchi and that, in-story, it only takes place a little while after the debut of the Black Knights, it's highly likely Nina simply didn't want to go back to where she was almost raped.
    • The Legend Begins was originally going to just have Coran give a summary of the origins of the Lions and their original paladins before Lelouch explained what his plans to bond with Zen, but the writer didn't find this particularly satisfying, so she instead went with the events from the Season 3 finale of Legendary Defender.
