- All-Star Cast: The lead cast features Kaede Hondo. The supporting cast features Satomi Arai, Saori Hayami, Ai Kakuma, Noriaki Sugiyama, Satomi Sato, Kensho Ono, Takumi Yamazaki, Ayana Taketatsu, Nobutoshi Canna, Rina Sato, Kappei Yamaguchi, Akira Ishida, Yuko Minaguchi and Sakura Tange
- Crossdressing Voices: Kanade has a case of this, as he's voiced by female VAs in both Japanese (Satomi Arai) and English (Brittney Karbowski).
- Dueling Works:
- The Animated Adaptations of Bofuri and Infinite Dendrogram (another MMO-related book series) aired in the same season. This was much to the frustration of Dendro fans, as (among other issues) the details cut from episode 1 of Dendro made its protagonist seem just as overpowered as Maple, but less fun.
- Thanks to the below Schedule Slip, the final two episodes of season 2 aired simultaneously to Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!, another VRMMO light novel adaptation with a pair of black and white bears who have cub and regular-sized versions.
- Schedule Slip:
- Due to production problems associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the English dub for episode 9 onward started airing on September 1, 2020 — which is five months behind schedule.
- The second season was announced to air in 2022, but after a very lengthy time of silence from the studio, the next update on the project wasn't until late September 2022, when a preview trailer confirmed it would air in January 2023.
- The second season would eventually become one of the anime titles of the Winter 2023 to experience a mid-season delay due to the spike of COVID cases during that period. However, unlike other shows, Bofuri's delay is less severe, as its delay only lasted two weeks before resuming the regular airing of episodes (with the season now ending in mid-April instead of March).
- Sleeper Hit: Bofuri was a relatively unknown novel prior to it receiving an anime adaptation, and even once it did, it didn't garner much attention due to its premise as a VRMMO-centered show, which there were plenty of. Once it did start airing, the show quickly gained a strong community following for its light-hearted take on the VRMMO genre, consistently clean animation, and many entertaining scenarios courtesy of its protagonist, to the point where a second season was immediately announced at the end of Season 1.
