  • Volume 5 is a particularly poignant example, for both Kyousuke and the White Queen:
    • Kyousuke had been starting to regain some semblance of a normal life. Even his mission of assassinating the Queen was no longer necessary, as she seemed to be perfectly safe and stable. But then all of the other fourteen siblings betray him, trying to usurp control over the Queen by copying his behavior. The Queen's anger over this caused her to destroy the Miniature Garden and kill almost everyone he knew. Then, when he eventually threw himself at the White Queen, hoping to prevent anyone else dying... she slaughtered countless more, in order to prevent him from being killed.. Not for nothing does he consider himself half-responsible for all the chaos in the world.
    • The White Queen was initially summoned with the intention of killing her, but it also allowed her to meet the love of her life. But her mere presence began to sow discord among the members of the Fifteen Siblings Project. Eventually, her love was exploited in an attempt to gain control of her. When she discovered the truth, she was so angry that she broke her promise to never hurt anyone and exacted a gruesome vengeance on those responsible. Needless to say, this created a rift between her and Kyousuke. But that was just the start. In her rampage to get to Kyousuke, she caused even more deaths. Then, when she finally managed to hold him again, he (naturally) rejected her to her face and declared that he would someday destroy her. Finally, to prevent Kyousuke from being hurt, she slaughtered all of the summoners attacking her, knowing that this would only widen the rift.
    • The personality warping the Shiroyamna siblings suffer after the White Queen is summoned by Kyousuke also counts. The group, initially intended to be a family, divides themselves into several small groups, with most of them stuck in harsh competitions for the top spot in the summoner rankings. Some of them don't even seem to care how much damage they cause on the loser of a summoner battle in their quest to be the one to summon the White Queen. After the White Queen is summoned the rankings stop having any worth, and the siblings initially begin to get along better and break their isolated groups. However, they are all soon warped by the White Queen's influence. The worst part is that they are all aware of this but cannot do anything to stop it. Kyoumi Shiroyama was a girl who looked up to the White Queen, enjoyed cosplaying as her and making costumes for others. She was one of the friendlier siblings who got along with almost all others, even acting as a kind older sister to the younger siblings like Kyousuke and Biondetta. She is mentally destroyed when confronted with the real White Queen, fully convinced her attempts to cosplay as her were laughable and had everyone secretly mocking her. Kyoumi ends up begging Kyousuke and Biondetta to stay away from her, as she cannot help but hate them and is deadly afraid she will kill them if they give her an opening, and she ultimately starts a cult in the facility that worships the White Queen. Alberto S. Divinesmith, who considered himself a rival to Kyousuke, becomes a broken husk of the proud summoner he once was. Even Biondetta, who acted as a cheerful older sibling to Kyousuke, ends up confessing her growing hate towards Kyousuke, asking him to kill her if she does something suspicious so that she can remain his older sister until the end, only to end up turning into the revenge-obsessed person we see in the present. In the end, half of the 15 Shiroyama siblings lost their lives during the White Queen's rampage and the Secret War, including Kyoumi.
  • Aika wanted to become a summoner just to impress her grandfather, by becoming a real-life example of the fairy tale heroines he wrote about. But she gained more experience and Awards, eventually hitting the Award 100 mark and permanently becoming Invisible to Normals. On top of that, her grandfather had written a story with the main character based on her, but now no one can even remember this story exists. He almost remembers her...almost.
    • The fate of any summoner or vessel with 100+ Awards is tragic. No matter what, all normal people will forget their existence as long as they aren't looking at them. This makes regular life very problematic. Kyousuke has issues simply ordering food at a restaurant since the staff will forget about his order the moment he's out of sight. He has also explained that he has to take several undisclosed measures to even attend school successfully. And while vessels are purified of their Awards whenever their contract with a summoner is terminated, allowing them to return to a normal life, there's no known way for summoners like Aika and Kyousuke to rid themselves of Awards. They are stuck that way, presumably forever.
  • The Colorless Little Girl is still trying so hard to help her nii-sama, even as her sanity degrades.
