Shout Out / Iji

Go To

  • The room where you fight Asha the second time has an identical layout to Ridley's room in Super Metroid.
  • If you're on a Pacifist Run, one Tasen logbook makes a direct comparison between Iji and Perfect Dark's Peace Sims, multiplayer bots who gather up any weapons and ammo they see and never attack anyone.
  • Iji's normal outfit looks very similiar to Heero Yuy. Similarly, Tor's appearance prior to summoning his mech resembles EVA-01.
  • Several of the weapon names are shout-outs to Tyrian.
  • One of the songs is called "Welcome to the Party, Pal", a quote from Die Hard.
  • Sector Z has references to some of Remar's earlier games, most notably Castle of Elite and Hero.
  • Alpha Strike, which consists of every ship in low-orbit dumping all their weapons in concert onto a single target (in this case, a planet).
  • Sector X has three "Research Lab" areas referred to as Daedalus, Icarus, and Helios.
  • Tasen Elites resemble Hunters.
  • Tor's "Eruption" attack where he fires a laser toward the ground and causes a massive explosion is taken right from NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind.
  • Let's see here, a game where a One-Man Army (or in this case, a One Woman Army) has to fight aliens in a military facility to save planet Earth, calls in The Cavalry, who then reveal their true intentions and attack the protagonist, forcing them to fight both while still trying to save the planet. Sound familiar?
  • The secret level Sector Y is inspired by "Out of this Dimension" from Star Fox, another bizarre secret level with obscure conditions for entering and no method of exiting.
