I plan to use this sandbox to draft new work (and maybe creator) pages.

Athenian Rhapsody is an upcoming turn-based Role-Playing Game developed by Nico Papalia and published by Top Hat Studios. It is scheduled to be released in early 2024 for PC.

You play as a child who explores the world of Athens. Along the way, you have battles with creatures that can be won by either defeating the creature or befriending it.

A free spinoff titled Athenian Rhapsody: Thunder Goober's Personality Dungeon, which also serves as a demo for the main game, was released in March 2023. In it, the wizard Thunder Goober kidnaps you and a companion (determined by taking a personality test) and traps the two of you inside his dungeon, which you must escape.

Thunder Goober's Personality Dungeon contains examples of the following tropes:

  • 15 Puzzle: In one area, your path is blocked by a giant 3×3 sliding puzzle where you unscramble a picture of a smiley face. When you solve it, it disappears.
  • Ability Required to Proceed: In order to be able to go in water, you need to obtain swim gear.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Some of the Buglurt enemies can be befriended by letting them talk about conspiracy theories they believe in, like how Athens is actually flat and mountains are just an illusion created by the government.
  • Elmuh Fudd Syndwome: Meesha the cat replaces his Rs and Ls with Ws when he speaks.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: You name your character at the start of the game, and other characters will call you by the name you picked.
  • Mondegreen Gag: When you try to get a fish-man to sell his house, he keeps mishearing you saying things like "smell your blouse" and "yell your douse".
  • Pacifist Run: It's possible to finish the game without killing a single enemy. If you do so, Athena will commend your moral sense, but berate you for not getting any EXP.
  • Permanently Missable Content:
    • In order to get out of Goobersville, you have to either defeat or befriend one of the town's citizens. There are four NPCs to choose from, and after you battle one of them, the other three options become unavailable.
    • After the fish-man sells his house, it becomes inaccessible, making you unable to get the tilapia sandwich if you didn't already take it.
  • Shout-Out: During the battle tutorial, Thunder Goober says that eating spinach gives you big muscles, especially in your forearms.
  • Talking Poo: One of the characters you encounter at the start is a talking, dancing piece of poop with limbs and a face.
