  • Blazing Saddles includes a line that is likely the source of the misquotation/paraphrasing popularly known nowadays. Hedley Lamarr gathers all kinds of thugs and deputizes them as his private army. When several Banditos are given their tin stars, their reaction is "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"
  • In Bubble Boy, when Jimmy offers Slim patches for his motorcycle's flat tire, he responds, "Patches? I could use some stinking patches."

  • The Inheritance Cycle: "Barges? We don't want no stinking barges!"
  • In It, Richie Tozier repeatedly says in a bad Mexican accent, "Batches? We don't need no steeking batches."
  • Lost Light: When Cross demands identification from an FBI agent, the agent shoots back with the "We don't need no stinking badges" line.
  • In the Discworld novel Snuff, after being sworn in as a special constable, Stinky tells Vimes that anyone who gets in his way will find he's their worst nightmare. "A goblin with a badge?" No, says Stinky, "Stinky don't need no badges, fellow po-lees-man! Stinky worst nightmare all by himself."
  • In the novelisation of Scarface, Tony Montana watches the movie which is compared thematically with his own destruction in the pursuit of illicit wealth.

  • The Rugrats (1991) episode "The Gold Rush" is one long homage to the film. Some notable standouts:
    • The entire plot of a treasure hunt where all participants turn on each other.
    • Chuckie's laughing fit and speech is a baby-fied version of Walter Huston at the end of the film.
