After obtaining the sheep talisman, Jade has her spirit out from her body. The Dark Hand got their hands on it so Shendu is freed to take possession of her body, hoping to get to Section 13 to take the talismans in their possession.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Actor Allusion: To Jackie Chan's Project A.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Dark Hand gets the sheep talisman, the first of the 12 in their grasp, but Jade gets her body back and the talismans in Section 13 are still safe.
  • Bluff the Impostor: Jackie tries to prove that Jade is being possessed by asking if she knows Melvin Moose's name, which the real Jade knows.
  • Deadpan Snarker: When Shendu is forced back into his statue, Valmont has this to say:
Valmont: Shendu, back so soon? And no talismans?
  • Demonic Possession: Shendu takes over Jade's body.
  • Dramatic Irony: Upon realizing that Shendu is after the talismans in Section 13, Jade surmises that he must be working for the Dark Hand. The audience knows it's the other way around.
  • Hall of Mirrors: Jackie chases "Jade" to a house of mirrors and walks into one when he sees "her" reflection in one of them. He then sees Shendu's reflections on several mirrors before he walks away and is replaced by the Shadowkhan in them. The ninjas then step from the mirrors to fight Jackie.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Jade's act of taking the Sheep Talisman from Uncle's box to discover it's power and leaving it in her dormant body's hand while she's astral projecting allows the Dark Hand to steal the Talisman unnoticed and give it to Shendu, which in turn gives Shendu the opportunity to take over Jade's body in an attempt to infiltrate Section 13.
  • No One Could Survive That!: In the opening, when the Dark Hand gets the sheep talisman, they fire missiles at the bridge the train is heading towards. When they watch Jackie run on the roofs of the train, then jumps onto the rail, Ratso mutters "No way he's human.". Jackie then makes into their helicopter to take the talisman back, then escapes when Ratso accidentally destroys the controls with his electric sword.
  • Noodle Incident: Uncle states that Jackie has broken antiques when he sleepwalks.
    Jackie: Oh, I don't sleepwalk.
Uncle: So, you break my antiques for fun?!
  • "Not Wearing Pants" Dream: Jade enters Jackie's dream, and has to point out Jackie isn't wearing pants to prove that he's dreaming. We also discover that Chan likes Valentine's heart boxer shorts.
  • Oh, Crap!: Shendu has this reaction when Uncle starts chanting his exorcism spell over the phone.
  • Pressure Point: Shendu uses this technique to knock out Captain Black and one of his agents once he's had enough of pretending to be Jade.
  • The Reveal: Shendu's status as a demon sorcerer, how he became a statue, and the significance of the twelve talismans to him are explained in this episode.
  • Shadow Discretion Shot: During Shendu's flashback, he's shaded so the audience doesn't know what he really looks like.
  • Sleepwalking: Despite Jackie's claim to Uncle to the contrary, he does indeed sleepwalk.
  • Threat Backfire: When Shendu blows his cover and attacks Jackie, the latter tries to threaten the former with a spanking. Shendu replies nonchalantly that Jackie may do so since it would be Jade' body that would get spanked instead of his own.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: The general consensus of the sheep talisman.
