In 2068, a "culture war" between two alliances, the heroic Polity and the oppressive Union, has laid waste to the planet. The Polity have been on the losing side for years and in a last ditch effort, have assembled a team for a new project. The Holon project, which will give them the powers to merge with giant, experimental mechas to stop the regime.
Six months after the events of the first season, the Union has conquered most of North America. As the Polity try desperate new tech and tactics to drive them back, and the global climate collapse reaches unstoppable levels, we meet Brother Tate, the Union's figurehead. Meanwhile, the gen:Lock team learn that the Polity are not as innocent as they were led to believe, especially during the beginning of the war.
