This episode contains the following tropes:
- Affectionate Nickname: Valentina calls Cammie 'moya zaika' when waking her up - it means "my bunny" in Russian.
- Bilingual Bonus: Cammie drops a bit of Russian after the mindshare with Val. It translates to "fucking asshole", because of course it does.
- Comically Missing the Point: After Cammie loses it from messing with her emotions, she ends up subjecting Kazu to a brutal sparring match. When the others finally manage to restrain her Holon, Kazu is laughing from the excitement of his fight, oblivious to what happened.
- Finger Gun: Cammie aims one at Nemesis, synchronizing her "firing" with Valentina hitting it with a sniper round through its Smoke.
- Killing Your Alternate Self: Whatever the Nemesis really is, it considers Chase a copy of itself, and attempts to kill him.Nemesis: Copy — kill copy.
- Madness Mantra: "Not gonna get me again" briefly becomes Cammie's as her PTSD from the events of last episode begins spiralling out of control.
- Mecha Expansion Pack:
- All five Holons are upgraded with experimental weapons from the ESU. Iida gets a sword, Valentina gains a heavy-caliber sniper rifle, Cammie gains a pair of Attack Drones, and Yasamin gets wrist-mounted lasers. Chase, meanwhile, gets a pair of wings of Migas' design, much like those on his old plane.
- While not to the same degree, the sixth Holon - the one Sinclair was meant to pilot - has been upgraded with Vanguard armor like the others were in the previous episode. With Sinclair most likely dead, the reason for this is unclear, except as a reserve for any future pilots when the gen:LOCK program is able to keep recruiting, or just as a backup in-case one of the other Holons is too damaged to deploy.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After being unable to cope with her confrontation with the Nemesis, Cammie begins modifying her personality while in her Holon to make herself more confident and aggressive. When she starts to lose it during her fight with Kazu however, the others have to restrain her while Leon demands she be forcibly downloaded back to the Anvil.
