Radar / El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera

Go To

  • In "The Mustache Kid", one of the adult-restricted activities that Manny and Frida want to do is enter into an establishment called "The Salsa Club". Seeing that it specifically denied entry to those under 21, had a tough-looking bouncer, and even got destroyed before we could get a look inside the place... that was probably not a mere dance club the mischievous duo were trying to gain access to.
  • "Return of Platna Peligrosa" has Manny freaking out when Rodolfo wants to ask Maria (who has been under the glove's influence) out to coffee. This is usually code for/leads to a couple having sex, but the show tones it down by saying Rodolfo just wanted to go on a date.
    • This episode also kind of sends a "don't make any romantic/sexual advances towards anyone under the influence" message in regards to Rodolfo and Maria.
    • Referring again to Platna Peligrosa in general, the way she gets a hold of the glove (at a college party) and the way she gets when she wears it (notably being "addicted to danger") is obviously a metaphor for some kind of drug.
  • Manny dressing up as a pimp in "A Fistful of Nickels". Rodolfo also wore the same outfit at some point.
  • "Animales" has the Riveras going out to a bachelor auction for the night; we don't see how the event itself went, but all three of them come home looking roughed up and Rodolfo called the woman animals.
    • The mayor (who was holding the event) uses the money that was meant to charity to buy a diamond pimp hat. Oh, and Granpapi was dressed in his underwear covered with lipstick.
  • The scene in which Rodolfo catches Manny reading Villains Quarterly plays out exactly like a kid sneaking pornographic magazines then getting busted.
  • One particularly Squick-tastic moment (and pretty literal example of this trope) included Davi popping out of Manny's toilet right after Manny had finished using it. Even Manny was disturbed by that, then proceeded to flush Davi down the drain.
  • Pretty much anytime the Titanium Titan's obsession with Rodolfo went into Ho Yay territory, especially given how Jorge borderline confirmed the intention.
    • His blatant intention of killing Manny for reasons most likely connected to the above can also count.
      • And then there was the time he used romantic tactics on Frida, a young girl, by disguising himself as a teen super villain in order to lure Manny into his trap. What sells this is that it was working up until Frida chose Manny over Silver Wolf.
  • In one episode, Rodolfo wanted to have a talk with Manny regarding his changing body (basically puberty or even The Talk) and Manny responds by jumping on top of Granpapi's mecha and having him fly away fast.
  • Before the reveal of Sartana's true heritage through Word of God, her and Granpapi's relationship carried some pretty strong implications of necrophilia. Actually, the implications could still kind of linger given that linage just so happens to be death gods...
  • For a Nick cartoon, the amount of very sincere murder threats and attempts that happened throughout the show was quite notable. Bonus in that children were usually involved on both ends, a lot of the times simultaneously.
  • Another one that has to do with violence; In order to save himself from getting roasted Manny had to basically cut his own hand off. There was no blood shown and it was the chain and not his arm that was cut, but Manny did react as if he felt physical pain.
  • One episode revolved around El Oso wanting to initiate a romantic relationship with the Bear Princess...who is an actual bear and not exactly an anthropomorphic one. Gets averted when she was already spoken for.
  • In "La Tigressa", Sartana tells a just-captured Manny that she was going to skin him. This wasn't even a threat; she was sharpening her claws and getting ready to do it right then and there.
  • In the episode where Manny got Chui it first showed him owning either a hamster or a gerbil and he mistook the little thing for soap while showering. The last moment could have implied that it might have crawled up...somewhere if it didn't die already.
  • The end of "Burrito's Little Helper" features Vice Principle Chakal in nothing but a leopard print speedo. Squick ahoy.
    • Sergio dons a black one while trying to impress Frida in "Love and War".
  • In the episode featuring the Cactus Kid, one of the commands that Granpapi gives him during training is "Spank the monkey!".
  • Another potential literal example in "Eye Caramba": When Rodolfo decides to take Manny up on his (sarcastic) offer to ground him till he's 30 an adult Manny is seen locked in his room surrounded by many jars filled with what looks suspiciously like a yellow substance.
  • "Moustache Love" has a moment where Granpapi picks up the extremely painful cactus vest that Sofia made Manny wear and proceeds to put them on as pants and giving a blissful "That's the stuff!".
