Nightmare Fuel / Toontown Rewritten

• The first election ended in one of the most shocking events to grace Toontown history — the Playground being invaded by hundreds of Cogs. The fact that the Cogs managed to infiltrate what is essentially a safe haven for countless Toons is genuinely terrifying, as much as Slappy being the first Toon to ever encounter a Cog and become Sad. The duck's unknown fate is made potentially worse by the discovery of a Big Cheese memo◊ as part of the ARG. It's from The Chairman himself, and implies that the Cogs have imprisoned Slappy somewhere for outright interrogation.
• The ARG had an arc that culminated in the discovery of the very evil-looking Executive Office Tower. Going to Bossbot HQ and trying to enter the tower's gate reveals something even more unsettling — the game politely tells you that you can't be allowed in, as the grounds are lined with so many Goons that they'll catch any Toon immediately. So far, no Toon has ever gotten inside, and the game notes that only time will tell what the Cogs are plotting inside. Nothing else has been revealed about it other than all four HQ heads meet there often.
• The Toonfest/Cartoonival grounds for massive Toon celebrations are located in Acorn Acres right next to the Bossbot HQ, implying that in some way or form, the Cogs can keep an eye on the largest Toon gathering of the year — and if a mine shaft with a camera eye is any indication, they are.
• The Sellbot Task Force quests eventually include a sobering reminder of what the Toons are fighting for with the reveal of the locked-down Kaboomberg District and Daisy Gardens, Inc., a place where the Cogs successfully took over Daisy Gardens and converted it into an industrial wasteland. Goons and high-level Cogs roam the playground freely, streets and shops have been demolished, the pond has been turned into damaging oil, and in a dark reference to a Toontown 2.0 idea, the Pet Shop has been replaced with Cog Cosmetics, which are made of ground-up Doodles. The music is also creepy and sad, being a Cog-themed version of the cheerful original music.
