  • The Pound of Flesh (pictured). Two individuals have apparatuses attached to their heads with screws aimed at their temples. The goal is to cut off chunks of their flesh to depress a scale, and whoever's cut off more flesh than the other wins... while the loser dies by the screws firing into their skull. It's one thing to cut off pieces of oneself, but making it a life-or-death competition between two people?
    • One of the trap victims, the overweight Eddie, tries to cut away flesh from his stomach. The other victim, the skinny Simone, resorts to hacking her arm off with a meat cleaver — and WINS. Each blow is also backed with a Scare Chord, and eventually she's hacking so fast that the music chugs back into a rhythm.
  • The second trap involves William being forced to choose who gets to avoid being hung to death via barbwire, an elderly woman with a family and a history of diabetes, or a healthy young man with no living relatives or friends. Neither of them has done anything to deserve being placed in a trap, and yet only one can live.
    • What also makes this trap worse for some, is that the trap is likely rigged in the elderly woman's favour to play on William's sympathies due to her background, leaving the other victim no chance to avoid his fate, solely because he was a nobody.
  • The Carousel Trap: Six people are chained to a children's carousel redecorated with Jigsaw's motif of doom, and every time it stops, a spring-loaded shotgun fires a bullet, killing the person in front of it. Meanwhile, the person being tested can push two buttons to angle the shotgun upward to let it miss, but only twice. And when they push the buttons, a screw comes straight down through their hand. And the whole time, the victims on the carousel are free to plead, scream, threaten, and cry as they realize that they haven't been deemed worthy to save by someone they viewed as a friend, with the remaining ones splattered with their coworker's blood.
    • When it comes to the final choice between Shelby and Josh, as Emily has already been spared, the carousel itself starts to suddenly play Creepy Circus Music to highlight the tension of which one is going to be blasted into oblivion.
    • Even worse? Look at it from Josh's perspective when William saves Shelby, and the immediate realization that he's completely fucked, and he'll die as soon as the carousel stops again. Though he does go out with a pretty epic "Reason You Suck" Speech, it's obvious that he's a complete mess of anger and fear.
    • It’s also a chilling Call-Back to William’s policy ending up paying for only one-third of paying clients. Here, William can only save two of the six on the carousel, and what’s one-third of six?
  • William's final test, in which the widow and son of one of his former clients have the chance to spare his life. The widow wants to kill him, but can't go through with it... so the son does it instead and triggers a rack of needles that pump him full of hydrofluoric acid, slowly dissolving his body from the inside out.
    • And the two are forced to watch what's happening, likely feeling regret about the decision while Pamela watches screaming. The son probably gathered that William suffered too much.
    • Also remember that Pamela is William's sister. It's disturbing to think about being forced to watch your sibling die a gruesome death.
