When someone (usually a guy) does something unintentionally perverted towards a girl, the latter will usually follow up with a beatdown, even if it's unwarranted. But some girls aren't like that. Instead, they are actually understanding of the situation and willing to be lenient on the person in question if they accidentally do something perverted to them. Because of this, many guys who get into a Not What It Looks Like moment can breathe a sigh of relief that person is willing to let them go and not punish them.
This may be because they know it was an accident and are willing to let them off with a warning (especially if they're a Reasonable Authority Figure), they know that person well enough that they would never try to do the perverted things in question, or they're just too soft or kind-hearted to hit the person in question. They may also be too aloof or shameless to really care about such a thing, or they may not actually understand why it's such a big deal. Alternatively, they may come from a culture with a No Nudity Taboo, so they don't really mind at all if they end up on the receiving end of such perverted antics. Their relationship could also be familial, and as a result, they don't think the Accidental Pervert is someone who has any interest in their body. They may also have a crush on the person in question, so they either don't mind at all or love the person's character so much they're willing to look past it. In some cases, the girl might initially attempt to take to action against supposed pervert, but they'll determine after looking at the person that he's not one.
This trope naturally averts Double Standard and its subtrope, since the girl is actually very patient and reasonable with the guy. Contrast Lovable Sex Maniac, who does act intentionally perverted but is loved all the same, and Abuse Mistake, where someone will come to believe the Accidental Pervert was doing it deliberately.

- Absolute Duo: When Toru Kokonoe accidentally touches Imari Nagakura's breast, the latter just politely asks him to move his hand rather than get angry and hysterical.
- Accel World: Played for Drama. Seiji uses a visual mask to lead Haruyuki to the girls' shower room while Chiyuri is taking a shower as part of a trap to blackmail him - Chiyu realizes that Haru was tricked, but knows that he could be expelled if word got out. Her attempts to prove his innocence leads her to get blackmailed into working for Seiji, thus leading to the conflict of the next few Story Arcs.
- A Certain Magical Index: Itsuwa is one of the kindest girls who has a crush on Touma, to the point she never gets angry with Touma or hits him whenever he has an Accidental Pervert moment with her.
- Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor: Rumia, unlike Sistine and most of the other girls, never gets mad at Glenn or punishes him for perverted antics, intentional or not, merely being flabbergasted. One example is when Glenn enters the girls' changing room, where Rumia is one of the only two girls who doesn't attack Glenn.
- Birdy the Mighty: Tsutomu's dad tries to bond with him in the bathtub, but finds a naked Birdy in his place, just as she stood up in the bathtub giving him a Naked First Impression. She isn't really bothered by it and they simply exchange polite greetings before he awkwardly steps out to ask his wife why there's a stranger in their bathroom.
- Date A Live: While this didn't apply to Tohka the first few times Shido got into Accidental Pervert moments with her during the Yoshino Puppet arcnote , Tohka does get one moment of this in the Yamai Tempest arc when Shido gets tricked into entering the women's hot springs by Kaguya and Yuzuru. Rather than blame him for being a pervert, she actually tries to help him sneak out of the hot springs when Ai, Mai, and Mii enter the bath. This ends with Tohka accidentally pushing Shido into the ocean (Shido's spirit powers allow him to survive), but it's the thought that counts.
- The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan: In the first episode, a question from Ryoko startles Yuki, who coughs and spills oden on her sweater. Ryoko begins to try and pull her sweater off, saying they have to wash it before it stains. The only problem? Kyon is still in the room, which both Yuki and Ryoko realize a moment after Ryoko had nearly stripped her in front of him. But neither of them blame or attack Kyon for this oversight.
- Dog Days: When looking for the bathhouse, Cinque Izumi ends up in the women's bath by mistake and sees Princess Millhiore bathing. While embarrassed, she doesn't attack Cinque for the mistake and actually allows him to use the bath for himself.
- Dream Eater Merry: Yumeji accidentally gets a glimpse of Yui and Nao's panties while trying to catch a doll Yui was interested in from falling onto the floor. While Nao has the expected reaction, Yui is actually more understanding and forgiving, to the point she actually scolds Nao for jumping the gun and slapping Yumeji while apologizing to the latter for her friend's choice of action. This leads Nao to ship Yui and Yumeji together.
- Fairy Tail: In the fourth OVA, Jellal and Erza end up riding down the slide of the local water park, with Jellal getting a handful of Erza's boobs. While both are naturally embarrassed, Erza acknowledges it wasn't his fault and doesn't attack him.
- The anime adaptation of Fate/stay night has Shiro discover that Illya had spent the night clinging to him in his futon. Saber is less than pleased but knows Shiro wasn't aware of her presence. Rin is less pleased when she hears about it, because she doesn't know the circumstances, but she doesn't haul off and hit him before he has a chance to explain that it wasn't his idea.
- Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu: Tessa sneaks into Sosuke's futon. Kaname finds them. But she knows Sosuke well enough to know he didn't do anything, so she merely drags Tessa off.
- Futari Ecchi: It's actually easier to count whenever a female character actually dish an Unprovoked Pervert Payback towards Makoto when he has his Accidental Pervert moment. Even the ever aloof Miyuki, when Makoto catches her completely naked in the bathhouse, merely blushes and asks him whether she has become sexier compared to when she was under his tutelage.
- Giant Ojou-sama: The girls easily brush it off whenever Nakano Giraffe accidentally ends up in a Suggestive Collision. It helps that he's only 9 years old, and clearly doesn't have any lewd intentions whenever it happens.
- Played with in INVADERS of the ROKUJYOUMA!?:
- In the first episode, Koutarou accidentally finds himself smack dab in the middle of Princess Theiamillis's chest (she was coming through a portal at the time, and he was trying to figure out what was happening). When he calls her "flat-chested" she prepares to blow up the planet with a Wave-Motion Gun called the "Genesis Buster" but is halted by her knight, Ruthkhania, who points out that she's there to earn the Allegiance of those at that location, and she's on track to have the fastest failure in the Empire's history. She stands down without exacting any retribution.
- Later in the series, it's Ruth's turn after she wins a vacation for six in a raffle (it's actually a set-up, but that's another story), and Koutarou and his "invaders" end up sharing a room at an inn. During the night, he crawls on top of Ruth, dreaming of catching a Rhinoceros/Hercules Beetle(he sees her as a tree). While all the girls understand that Koutarou wasn't being deliberately pervy, it leaves Ruth with a permanent Berserk Button towards the Rhinoceros Beetle(which she hasn't even seen yet), as she feels that Koutarou likes them more than her.
- Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Bell is usually Above the Influence, but he has gotten into some Accidental Pervert moments with the girls. Once, Bell gets tricked by Hermes into going to a spot where they could see the women's bath before inadvertently making Bell fall into the bath as well. Luckily for Bell, a number of the girls (including Hestia) didn't mind. Ais is only mildly embarrassed, Hestia is upset that Bell didn't do it when she was alone, and Ryuu only attacked Bell because she mistook him for a hostile enemy and she's reasonable enough to hear him out. Hermes is the only one who actually gets punished since he intentionally peeped and dragged Bell into his scheme. Lefiya is the only who actually wants to hit Bell, though that may be because she's jealous that he saw Ais naked, being infatuated with the latter herself.
- Played with, but mostly for comedy, in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. When Joseph gets turned into a human magnet by Mariah's Stand Bast, Joseph accidentally pulls an old woman's skirt with the magnetic pull. The woman doesn't believe it's an accident at all, but still seems to like Joseph for acting so daring towards her, much to Joseph's horror and chagrin. This all changes when the woman sees what appears to be Avdol humping Josephnote , causing her to assume the latter is cheating on her and leading her to whack them both with her cane.
- In episode 6 of Kamisama Dolls, when Hibino falls from a flying Kukuri, Kyohei catches her by her shirt which is getting pulled up, revealing her bra. Utao, who fell from the top of Kukuri finds herself clinging to Hibino's pants resulting in her pulling them down slowly to partly reveal Hibino's panties. After all three manage to land safely on the ground, Kyohei and Utao apologize for these mishaps that occurred as a result of Utao losing control but Hibino just tells them she got used to it.
- Minami-ke: Zig-Zagged. When Natsuki accidentally gropes Haruka in front of the class during school hours, she all but explains outright that she has to be seen replying to it in order to maintain their public images and stop any wayward rumours, and apologises in advance. Natsuki makes it clear he's aware of her dilemma and consents to 'taking responsibility', so Haruka visibly punches him in response to the 'perversion'. It is clear neither side have any hard feelings over it and Haruka would likely have let it pass if it happened in private.
- Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: During Ilulu's first day at her part-time job, Taketo ends up falling into her "flame sacs". Her initial reaction is to pat his head and ask if he's okay while he's still face-first in her breasts before remembering that she's "supposed" to call him a pervert (and even then, it's in a half-hearted "this is what I was told is socially expected" sort of tone).

- Monster Musume: Downplayed. An early chapter has Kimihito walking half-asleep into the bathroom to prepare a warm bath for Miia to get her energized for the day, as he had been doing for a while now. Then-newcomer Centorea was already in the bath: the next scene has Kimihito sporting a hoof-shaped black eye and apologizing for seeing Centorea naked, and Centorea apologizing for kicking him and insisting she's the one at fault for not telling him about her own routine after moving in or not locking the door behind her.
- Early on in Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Asuna Kagurazaka was prone to hitting Negi Springfield whenever he did something accidentally perverted to her. However, since he's only 10 years old, Asuna knows deep down that he doesn't mean to do it and eventually grows out of this attitude. Negi accidentally touches her hand at one point and expects Asuna to freak out at him for it. She correctly points out that it was just an accidental touching of their hands and doesn't even warrant a discussion. While Asuna gets the brunt of the Accidental Pervert moments, most of the other girls in the series forgive Negi on the spot or just flat out don't care.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion: In episode 5, Shinji tries to look for Rei at her place, but he happens to come when Rei was taking a shower, coming naked out of the room. When Rei snatches the glasses (which belonged to Genko) from Shinji's hand, he trips over and finds himself unwillingly groping Rei. Due to her emotionless personality, she coldly asks him to move away instead of getting mad at Shinji.
- Real Mo Tamani Wa Uso Wo Tsuku: In chapter 22 Nanami falls asleep on a couch in the net cafe she and Kaoru are visiting, and when she begins rolling off Kaoru scrambles to catch her. His hand brushes against her chest, and when she wakes up and asks if anything happened while she was asleep he confesses what happened. He fully expects her to explode at him, but being Genre Savvy Nanami just brushes the incident off as being an accident and that Kaoru would never try to take advantage of her deliberately. She does, however, make a mental note to cut down on all-night gaming sessions to avoid something like that happening again.
- Rebuild World: Sheryl has been warning a Number Two member of her slum gang Erio to knock before entering her office/bedroom, since the door might be opened to Akira and Sheryl in various states of undress. One time, Erio knocks and then bursts in before she can reply, seeing Sheryl nude about to try on the underwear Akira gifted her. Sheryl says in her normal tone of voice "There won’t be any mercy next time", which nonetheless fills Erio with terror. But Sheryl seems to forget about the incident and continues treating Erio and the gang as her Morality Pet.
- School Rumble: During the Beach Episode, Eri walks in on Harima while he's naked. Realizing that she's about to scream, which would set off a Not What It Looks Like situation, he grabs and restrains her, only to realize that he's now put himself in an even worse situation. He decides to explain to Eri but ends up saying, "You keep quiet." in the creepiest way imaginable. It's at this point that Akira walks in, and she correctly guesses the series of events that led to the current situation, saying at the end, "Don't worry, Harima. I don't think you're a pervert. But you are a total screw-up."
- The Seven Deadly Sins: Inverted. Meliodas always acts intentionally perverted towards his love interest Elizabeth, yet she never gets mad at him for doing so, only being embarrassed at worst. Her previous life as Liz on the other hand always slapped Meliodas when he did the same thing to her, albeit not in private.
- In the anime adaptation of SHUFFLE!, Rin is visiting Asa's house. He accidentally walks in on her when she's about to sit on the toilet. There's an awkward silence, and then he asks if she forgot to lock the door. She explains that the lock is broken, but she doesn't go ballistic on him or hit him.
- Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie: Tails clings to Sera and accidentally grabs one of her boobs. Knuckles yells at him, but Sera doesn't get mad at him, unlike all the other times she thought people were trying to creep on her (presumably, she knows it was an accident and that Tails is much more innocent).
- Strike the Blood:
- Kanon Kanase is an extremely soft-spoken and sweet-natured girl, and one of many who falls in love with the protagonist Kojou. On numerous occasions, Kanon finds herself in fanservice-y or intimate situations with Kojou, but not only does she not get upset or angry like most of the others, she actively invites him to do whatever he wants. For example, when Kojou desperately needs to drink blood, Kanon immediately strips herself naked and states If It's You, It's Okay, and when it's made known that Kojou requires twelve "blood mates" to maintain his power, Kanon is the first to grab an engagement ring while the other girls are still reacting with shock and disgust.
- Kisaki Kiriha is a Troll who takes an interest in Kojou both because the chance to become a "blood mate" to a vampire lord offers considerable power, but also to annoy her rivals, Yukina and Sayaka. When alone with Kojou at a resort, she pretends to be embarrassed about being naked, only to laugh at Kojou's "disappointment" when she's actually in a bathing suit. She also once claims that he groped her while asleep, but that turns out to be a lie. She is also one of the first to grab an engagement ring to become one of Kojou's "blood mates".
- Summer Wars: When Natsuki comes out of the bathroom to try and retrieve one of the smaller children who is running off without getting dressed, she is spotted by Kenji. She ducks back into the bathroom, positions a Modesty Towel, and sheepishly tells him that the bath is free if he wants to use it.
- Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!: Hana loves to tease and annoy the hell out of Shinichi, but anytime he's accidentally copped a feel of her large breasts (and one time he even grabbed her while sleeping and used her as a body pillow), she never berates or attacks him for it. It may be because she sees it as Laser-Guided Karma when she gets overboard with her antics.
- The Way of the Househusband has an example. While walking and talking with his middle-aged housewife friends at the gym, Tatsu accidentally follows them into the women's changing rooms. Tatsu ends up punishing himself and is prepared for the worst, but they all understand it was an accident and wave off his apologies.

- Bayonetta 2: Heaven & Hell
, a crossover between Bayonetta and Kid Icarus, opens its thirteenth chapter with Pit waking up to find himself in the stomach of Insidious, having landed on top of Bayonetta, with his hands on her breasts. Pit being Pit, he's startled and embarrassed. Bayonetta being Bayonetta, she brushes it off, telling Pit that he should feel honoured that he's the first angel to touch her breasts (which makes sense, given what the majority of angels in Bayonetta's world are like). All she asks is that they don't tell Luka, in case he ends up feeling jealous.
- Escape From The Hokage's Hat: After years of dealing with Sakura (who'd scream and beat him up at any time or call him an idiot or a perv), 13-year-old Naruto has the notion that all women will beat him for anything, even something out of his control, leading to a rather OOC (read: quiet) Naruto on a trip with Tsunade, Shizune, and Hinata and a case of accidental Covert Pervert. Tsunade sits him down and tells him "No. Sakura just had issues. We are not going to beat you for something as stupid as that."
- Genderbent Date A Live: When Shiori (Shido's female counterpart) ends up on the receiving end of Tohkito's (Tohka's male counterpart) Accidental Pervert moments as part of Shiori's "training" (the exact opposite of what happened in canon, as mentioned above), Shiori is embarrassed, but never hits Tokito or sees him as a pervert. She just shows annoyance at Kouta (Kotori's male counterpart) for orchestrating these moments.
- It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad Fic indicates this to be the case for Varric and Isabela. Isabela observes that Varric "looks at [my bosom] all the time," but she doesn't mind. Partly this is because Isabela is, well, Isabela, but it's also because, as she points out, Varric is a dwarf and her breasts are pretty much at his eye level.
- Kirigiri-san! PLEASE!!!: While Makoto and Kyoko go on their honeymoon, their classmates Byakuya, Toko, Hina, and Hiro try to help advance their relationship to the next step. Byakuya's first plan is to deliberately set up some Accidental Pervert moments on Makoto's end, counting on his Ultimate Luck to do it. Both end up in embarrassing situations on the beach, but Kyoko never takes her anger out on Makoto, instead rightfully suspecting that someone else is causing these incidents. When she finds out her other classmates are behind it, she makes them do extra paperwork as punishment and doubles the punishment in Byakuya's case for masterminding it.
- In one chapter of Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Makoto is led to believe PE is about to start and accidentally walks into the girls' locker room while they are changing. None of them retaliate against him as he apologizes profusely and begins to walk out and Ravel even greets him. Meanwhile, Hagane finds out Matsuda and Motohama are hiding in her locker and Koneko violently throws them out in the usual manner before more gently nudging Makoto out as well.
Matsuda: C'mon! Makoto just waltzed right in here! Why didn't y'all freak out over him!?
Koneko: Because, unlike you two, he at least tries to respect women.
Makoto: Tries? - Never Say Never: When Hifumi gets caught by Sayaka, "Junko" (actually Mukuro Ikusaba), and Kyoko trying to talk to Alter Ego when the former explicitly told him not to, Hifumi's screams attract Makoto and Leon's attention. The boys rush to the bathhouse thinking the girls are in trouble, leading them to accidentally get a glimpse of the girls in Modesty Towels. While Sayaka and "Junko" have a Naked Freak-Out, Kyoko is the only one who remains calm and actually tells them to keep watch, being more focused on calling out Hifumi for going against orders, though Makoto does faintly notice the embarrassment in her eyes.
- Hero Academia D×D: Izuku keeps ending in Accidental Pervert situations, but the girls know he's innocent and either understand he's innocent, are indifferent or actually welcome him looking at them. The only subversions are during the Rating Game (Ochako and Koneko get their clothes burned in front of Izuku, Koneko tries to punch Izuku), the Sports Festival (Izuku accidentally gropes Liana, who briefly attacks him but later admits to herself she liked the feeling) and almost at the pool (the girls find Izuku being straddled by a naked Xenovia, but fortunately they realize what was going on and let Izuku go before they start berating Xenovia for her actions).
- Lampshaded by Misty in Pokémon Reset Bloodlines. At one point Ash sees Iris naked when she decides to bathe with him under a waterfall, and when Misty finds out about this, she's able to piece together what actually happened and understands that it was something out of Ash's control and doesn't blame him.
Film — Animated
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame: During the Feast of Fools, Quasimodo accidentally falls into Esmeralda's tent and pulls down the curtain while she's changing into her robe. Esmeralda, rather than be upset, asks Quasi if he's okay and checks him for any injuries, then allows him to leave her tent while politely asking him to be more careful next time.
Film — Live-Action
- In Dragonheart, there comes a point where Bowen, Kara, and Brother Gilbert are all struggling to balance in the saddle on Bowen's horse. Kara, who is between the two men, is seated backwards on the horse, and while trying to maintain his grip on Bowen's shoulder, Brother Gilbert accidentally gropes her breast. He immediately apologizes and she lets it pass without comment, both because it was clearly unintentional and also because they have bigger problems at the moment.
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas!: The Grinch unknowingly falls right between his childhood crush Martha May's breasts, and she doesn't get angry, probably because she secretly reciprocates his feelings.
- Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: Downplayed. Harry is taking care of a passed-out Harmony when he sees a spider crawl into her bra. He tries to kill it by flicking the outside of the cup, which wakes her up. Her initial anger at the apparent groping quickly fades into a resigned forgiveness, even though she doesn't believe his excuse. "Look, Harry, you grabbed my tit. It's life, all right? It's no biggie." For his part, Harry is upset that she would forgive such a thing so easily, just accepting it as "an okay lapse".
- Radio: Played for drama; the eponymous character is intellectually-challenged, where he doesn't know the complexities of honesty and malice. Johnny Clay, the star football player of T.L. Hanna high school, tricks Radio into going into the girls' locker room while it is occupied. Though frightened, the girls simply tell Radio without any malice that he isn’t allowed in there. Despite this, Radio is horrified and unable to let go of the incident until Coach Harold Jones gets involved to calm Radio down.
Literature
- In Stranger in a Strange Land Jill, a nurse, is giving a bath to Mike, the Man From Mars. Having been raised by Martians, he has never seen a human female, and curiously reaches out to touch her breast. She brusquely tells him not to, but he is so stricken by the reprimand that she tells him it's okay, providing he doesn't obstruct her.
Live-Action TV
- In The Big Bang Theory Sheldon accidentally gropes Penny when she has fallen in the shower, and he is trying to dress her to take her to the hospital- while keeping his eyes closed.
- Penny: Does that feel like an arm?Sheldon: No, it does not.Penny: Then maybe you should let it go.

- Fire Emblem: Awakening: Downplayed. Following Chrom accidentally walking into female Robin's tent while she's bathing and her kicking him out by throwing stuff at him in their B-Support, the next scene has him apologizing and her accepting without further incident.
- Fire Emblem Fates: During their S-Support in the Revelation route, the male Corrin will accidentally walk in on Azura bathing at the lake. Azura does get annoyed with Corrin, but she only tells him to turn around while she's changing and lets him off with a warning.
- Muramasa: The Demon Blade:
- Momohime can walk in on Kisuke bathing in the hot spring, with the latter just getting annoyed as he explains he got there first.
- Played with when Kisuke walks in on Monohime bathing. The first run-in plays this straight as she won't react at all to his presence when Kisuke simply tells her he won't ruin her hot springs experience by peeping, but the second encounter averts this when she snaps at him for being rude when he tells her she's too skinny to be his type.
- Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3: Naruto enters the hot springs when he hears Hinata scream at the sight of a mouse. Naruto frankly apologizes to her, but Hinata isn't mad and is thankful that at least Naruto was concerned for her safety.
- Riviera: The Promised Land: Zig-Zagged in Cierra's case, as she doesn't show any objection when Ein gets into perverted situations with her, intentionally or not. Ein accidentally groping her or telling her she's soft when ends up accidentally sitting on his face are some of the most notable examples where Cierra doesn't seem to mind. If Ein chooses to peep on Cierra, Serene, and a couple of other girls bathing, Cierra is the only girl who doesn't accuse Ein of being a pervert and instead wants to give him the benefit of the doubt, which would play this trope straight if it weren't for the fact that Ein was peeping on purpose.
- Tales of the Abyss: Subverted in the Hot Springs Episode. Jade decides to perform a little "experiment" with Guy, who suffers from crippling gynophobia and can't stand to touch women, by knocking him into the sauna while the female party members are using it. Natalia is ready to unleash hell on him until Tear sensibly points out Guy's well-known issues with touching women. Unfortunately, Guy is stupid enough to answer when Anise asks who is bigger, outraging both Tear and Natalia.

- RWBY: In Volume 4, Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie end pinned to a wall by the Nuckelavee, the former pinned below the latter. When Ren looks up to see if Nora's okay, he accidentally looks up her skirt. Nora admonishes him for doing so, but never really hits him and secretly likes it.
Western Animation
- Family Guy: In "Petergeist", the Griffins realize that they must rebury the Indian skull Peter dug up to drive away the ghosts haunting them. Brian grabs Peter's crotch since he heard him say that he'd been wearing the skull as a cup, but Peter (who is merely annoyed) tells him that he sold it.
Brian: So, you're... not wearing it now?Peter: No. That's, uh, pretty much just me you're grabbing.
- An episode of King of the Hill had Bobby walk in on Luanne changing out of her swimsuit at the lake. When Bobby walks in on her changing again, Luanne explains that she forgave him the previous time because it was an accident, and that while she understands that a boy Bobby's age would naturally be curious, "I'm your cousin. If you do it again, you will go to Hell."
