  • The Theme Song, "Do the Mario!", the Mario being a dance where, as explained by the man himself, you "swing your arms from side to side", then "take one step, and then again". So... walking.
    • It's to be a reference to the way Mario moves within the game itself.
    • C'mon now! Just...like...that!
      • There were at least two different versions of this song used in the show, with one being noticeably better than the other in terms of Lou Albano's singing and his ability to stay both in-pitch and in-tempo.
    • Speaking of themes, the opening rap tuned to the classic overworld music has lyrics that make it clear that before getting lost in the mushroom kingdom that this was their jingle.
    "We're the Mario Brothers, and plumbing's our game, we're not like the others who get all the fame. If your sink is in trouble, you can call us on the double, we're faster than the others, you'll be hooked on the Brothers!
  • The first episode features Princess Toadstool explains to Mario what a fire flower is, once he transforms after grabbing one for the first time, he says "I love when that happens." As if he's done it before.
    • Or it could just be that he loved the feeling...
  • In the drug PSA, why does Mario say that if you do drugs, you'll go to Hell before you die?
    • He's using the term metaphorically as a way to say that drugs will destroy your life.
