- In "Brooklyn Bound," Mario and Luigi finally find a way to Brooklyn, New York. They've been trapped in the Mushroom Kingdom ever since they accidentally fell into a warp zone while on a plumbing job, and this could be their one chance to get back home. However, they realize that by doing so, they'll be leaving their friends Toad and Princess Toadstool - as well as the entire Mushroom Kingdom - behind. When they reach the warp zone, they all bid each other farewell and share a heartwarming hug.
Princess: Goodbye guys, I'll miss you!
Toad: Don't go blabbin' it around, but... she's not the only one.
- Ultimately, after seeing King Koopa capture the Princess and Toad, Mario can't bear to leave them behind. Even Luigi - who's normally cowardly and had been all too eager to return home - ultimately follows after Mario to rescue his friends. Doubles as an awesome and funny moment when Mario gets the drop on Koopa, who thinks the brothers have left.
Princess: You'll never get away with this!
Koopa: Oh yeah? And who's gonna stop me? Your plumber pals ran out on ya, remember?
(Koopa looks up and sees the Mario Bros. standing on a pipe.)
Luigi: I thought we were gonna sneak up on 'em, Mario!
Mario: ''I forgot!''
- The live-action segments also have some heartwarming moments, especially between the bros, including:
- "Dance" is set on Luigi's birthday, and Mario gives him a coupon with a free dance lesson from Shabba-Doo included, as a birthday present, then takes part in the lesson himself.
