- The Grinch: Downplayed Non-villainous example - Zuma doesn’t like family day, but doesn’t hate it, either. He just simply ignores it due to his lack of a family.
- Our Mermaids Are Different: Mama and Baby Merpups return and turn Zuma into one, despite the implied fact that the moon isn’t even full. Zuma’s transformation to one is described as developing gills while his lungs atrophy.
- Sadly Mythtaken: Despite
Word of God confirming that Xena has Athena’s powers, Athena was never seen commanding octopi in any Greek Myths. - Separated at Birth: This happened to Zuma And Xena several seconds after their birth.
- Suddenly Voiced: Mama and Baby Merpups were seen talking for the first time.
- Terrestrial Sea Life: Upon arrival in Miami, Florida, Zuma, Mama Merpup, and Baby Merpup leap out of their tank and flop around until they reach the Atlantic Ocean.
