Headscratchers / Omen III: The Final Conflict

  • The monks' plan at the fox hunt... they kill the actual fox then release another one. The monk then waits for Damien to pass then uses the original fox carcass to lead the rest of the fox hunt away while Damien is lured across the bridge by the running decoy fox... so, the monks' plan literally relied on expecting a fox (of all creatures) to go where they needed. Wouldn't it make more sense to do the exact opposite- decoy Damien with the dead fox? I get the series is based on Rube Goldberg deaths, but this was an actual plan by the monks.
    • In all fairness, the monks' plans don't seem to be very well though-out in general. At least three of the monks die of their own incompetence (the first, stalking Damien from a shaky scaffold -from which he truly had no chance to actually ambush him, to boot-, and the two in the abandoned church that flee into a well with no exits), they are unaware or unconcerned that Damien can control animals, and the last plan is a six-year-old equivalent of an ambush, clumsily hiding behind some stairs. So in terms of the hunt plan, they really got extremely lucky that the fox went straight towards the bridge instead of zig-zagging right back into the forest.
