Headscratchers / Aquamarine

• When Claire and Haley discover Aquamarine in the pool club shed, Claire asks how she got in, Aqua responds she used her new legs. That still doesn't explain how Aquamarine got outta the pool to escape the vacuum and gain her legs in the first place! She was still in water and had her mermaid tail fin. Can anybody please fill in this plot hole?
  • Aqua must have just lifted herself out of the pool. She put her hands on the concrete and hoisted herself up. She's bound to have lots of core strength from swimming around all the time, and once she gained her legs she walked into the club shed.

• After Leonard rescues Aquamarine during the night from public discovery in the water tower, she remarks "There's not usually a man with a ladder around when you need him." Just one problem. How could she climb down any ladder whilst she still had her mermaid tail? And she would be too heavy for anyone to carry down.
  • If she holds onto the ladder rungs while Leonard is below her and gradually helps her down. That way she's putting her weight into the ladder rungs, while Leonard holds her tail so she doesn't slip and fall.
  • Depending on what time he got to her it might've been day long enough for her to regain legs.
