Fridge Brilliance

  • If players have Lelouch Lamperouge engage in combat against the True Final Boss, the latter will say "Not another word, Lelouch", instantly silencing him. It seems like an unusual choice of words until players realize Lelouch has already deduced Hopes' motive before the rest of X-Cross (sans C.C. and the protagonist): Hopes is pulling off his own Zero-Approval Gambit, something Lelouch knows all too well with the "Zero Requiem".
  • Being able to use a Combination Attack even if only one of the requisite units is present on the map is a form of Gameplay and Story Integration because captains/commanding officers always order all available units to deploy in-universe. Units that the player didn't deploy in a scenario may not be represented in the gameplay but the story dictates that they are actually in the battlefield.
  • Why did Pretty Salian choose Lelouch and Show to accompany her in her fantasy? They are supposed to represent two of the most common types of Magical Girl Love Interests. Lelouch is the mysterious, brooding Black Knight while Show is the chivalrous, noble Knight in Shining Armor.
  • In the IF Route, Ange returns to Misurugi rather than stay on Arzenal or leave for the Dragon world, reconnects with Sylvia, and ends up inviting everyone back to the old Empire. Why would she do that?
    • Ange ends up leaving Arzenal for an extended period of time, bonding especially with Wataru, whereas she stayed so long she was almost conditioned there similar to Stockholm Syndrome. In fact, she even objected to return when the N-Nautilus was on course for it. She likely has more attachment to the rest of Al-Warth than Arzenal thanks to her adventures, even if Misurugi is part of it.
    • Another cause might be her friendship with Lelouch, who was also a prince exiled from Britannia and thought It Is Beyond Saving. But then he learned the corrupt system came from the previous Emperor perpetuating and expanding it instead of easily abolishing it long ago. Once Lelouch became Emperor, he cleared out the Empire’s abusive practices before becoming the enemy of humanity for the sake of his sister’s dream. Perhaps Ange learned a thing or two from him?

Fridge Logic

  • How exactly does Hi-Nu's BFG work if the Ra Cailum isn't in the game?
    • Probably by connecting the cable to another battleship and using it to power the BFG.
  • So aside from Ange, how is Wataru, a nine year old kid breathing space again in his final attack?
    • In his own series, the atmosphere extends a lot further out. Maybe Al-Warth's dimension just has air in space.
  • How long does it take for Wataru to slash the galactic sized Granzeboma? Ryujinmaru/Ryuoumaru should be galactic-sized, but not Wataru. And it's known that Wataru's final attack consists of him slashing his enemy with his sword on foot. And how fast is Ryujinmaru traveling to catch Wataru so he can land on him again? Wataru does slash the enemy twice and all.

Fridge Horror

  • The second trailer has the narrator mention how in Al-Warth, "The land absorbs the feelings of its people, the fruit of wisdom ripens in its trees... All in the name of Ende, God of Wisdom..." These all seem to be standard fantasy world tropes... Then it's revealed in the game that these words were literal: Ende is a malicious entity who created Al-Warth to feed on the negative emotions of its inhabitants through the fruits of wisdom.
    • Also a bit of fridge brilliance: the narrator for the trailer was Hideyuki Tanaka, Ende's VA.
