  • Why do the pink slimes that use the Bob profile only order chickens? Well, keep in mind that it is rather hard for them to catch chickens in the wild, as slimes are generally pretty slow. Having chickens shipped to them in a box makes them much easier to catch.
  • Similar to the above, why is Bob of all people someone Viktor considers a "colleague" he can leave an explanation of his tech to, even when he acknowledges they've never met and doesn't realize they are pink slimes? Viktor preferred not to engage with others unless his simulations of interactions proved to him it's worth his time, and Bob's limited vocabulary and very specific interest (which the Chicken Cloner falls under) make them incredibly predictable. How he failed the rest of this spot check is its own question, but his interest in Bob as a quick consultant over the other more complicated ranchers checks out.
  • The Indigo Quarry had a good reason for being abandoned, despite the amount of resources avalible there. It's home to Boom, Rock, Rad, and (in certain areas) Crystal Slimes. These are all the most dangerous slimes in the game. To add on to this, pay attention to the Rad Gordo found there. The Miners most likely mined into its chamber and got hit with some serious radiation. Crosses into Fridge Horror when you consider that it could have honestly killed some of them, or at least given them radiation poisoning (though since it's the future with super-tech and Beatrix suffers no ill effects when going away from radiation—even if she gets hit with enough to get knocked out, she just wakes up at her ranch house later none the worse for wear—it's likely they managed to survive unharmed).
    • It also doesn't help that the unique metals found in the Indigo Quarry dissolve outside of the Far Far Range's atmosphere. What's the point of opening a mine if the resulting ore just disintegrates off-world? Coupled with the above points, those miners could have ended up being the stars of a "Shaggy Dog" Story.
  • Hunter Slimes can turn completely invisible except for their eyes and mouth. Why? The eyes are visible because, if light were to completely pass through their eyes, they wouldn't be able to see since light bouncing off the parts of the eyes is what gives creatures their sight. As for why their mouths are visible, only their skin can turn invisible—the inner parts of their open mouths don't have that ability.
  • Crystal patches generated by Crystal Slimes can be dispatched and shattered with water. It makes sense because the Slimepedia notes that these patches are glowing hot so splashing cool, fresh water would induce thermal shock from rapid contraction and shatter them.
  • The "Little Big Storage" update was released in early April. Two reasons this makes sense.
    • The update encourages additional storage of items by adding slots to Silos and per-slot capacity to Silos and Warp Depots. "Spring Cleaning" anyone?note
    • Silos and Warp Depots now accept Echoes and Ornaments. With Ornaments being obvious and Echoes often being used as a stand-in for Christmas lights, by this time of the year most people have taken down their Christmas decorations.
  • If a Drone is stuck in one place long enough, it will eventually phase through whatever it's stuck behind and continue on its merry way. Out-of-universe, this is a failsafe in case the pathfinding fails. How does this make sense in-universe? Their crafting recipe includes Quantum Plorts, which come from the Slime breed that regularly phase through solid objects.
  • The Chicken Cloner seems to only exist as the first reward of Victor's sidequest to set up the gag with BOb, but there is one easy-to-miss connection: the Chicken Cloner's gimmick is that it'll either clone a chicken or make that chicken disappear. Every so often, Glitch Slimes will have a chance to do the same; they'll either split in two, or they'll vanish. Presumably, after enough bug reports, that ability became known enough to be implemented into the Chicken Cloner.
  • Rock Slimes', whose description has a pun in it, favourite food is the very punny Heart Beets.

Fridge Horror

  • Slime Plort uses:
    • Tabby slimes, you know, those adorable little cat slimes, their plorts are used to make what is basically a steroid.
    • Boom Slimes' plorts can be used to make bombs and explosives. The game says military organizations want them for "medical purposes", but it's pretty clear what they are really using them for. Keep in mind that at the start of the game they are one of the more valuable plorts. (Mixed with a little Fridge Brilliance: Nitroglycerin has uses both as an explosive and as heart medication. If Boom plorts are being used in a similar fashion, the demand for them will genuinely be high in the medical field.)
  • There seems to be lots of bone-like structures around the Far, Far Range. Maybe slimes are much more ravenous than we thought...
    • Carnivorous slimes already exist, as do Feral Largos. The implications aren't as far of a stretch as one might think for such cute creatures.
  • The ruins added in the 0.5.0 update are explained to be 'unnatural' and are most likely not man-made. Lots of ghostly events occur within the ruins, such as echoes. Quantum slimes can phase to other dimensions, and maybe, perhaps, to the afterlife and back. What if the ruins is some sort of ancient burial ground? Or maybe an event occurred causing the death of many creatures, causing their spirits to linger...
    • Given that the Glass Desert added in 0.6.0 has a lot of very familiar structures, it's entirely possible that the ENTIRE Far, Far Range is an artificial preserve, and the Glass Desert is what the world is really like. This is further reinforced by how the Glass Desert is only accessible via portal and can't be flown to even by using cheats.
  • "Gordos" are massive slimes caused by multiple slimes of the same species combining into one big one. This makes them so fat, they can't move. If they've been stuck there for who knows how long ever since they became Gordos, then those poor slimes probably haven't eaten in ages.
    • This makes feeding them all the more important. You're not just relieving their hunger, but you're freeing the slimes as well!
    • It's not unheard of for some players to snare Gordos just for decoration around a ranch. And I Must Scream much?
  • As mentioned under The Woobie on the YMMV page, Gold Slimes have probably been beaten up for a quick Newbuck quite often, as that's the only way to get plorts out of them without the incredibly rare Gilded Ginger. Small wonder they immediately run away when you get too close.
