The fic begins with a newly resurrected Voldemort grandstanding in front of his minions and learning that while he was disembodied Harry Potter became the Dark Lord, ruler of all dark creatures.

The horcrux in Harry's scar hadn't quite been as contained by the Blood Wards as Dumbledore planned. Rather than twisting Harry's personality, it darkened his aura. And the dark creatures of the magical world really liked that aura. Gee. Sucks to be a Dark Lord trying to make your comeback.

All truly started when werewolf Jasper Lockwood and his squib wife Allison moved to Privet Drive. One night full moon night Jasper escaped from his cage and found Harry, who had been locked out in the cold night. Instead of doing any harm to the child he kept him warm and brought him home.

Contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parents:
    • The Dursleys lock Harry Potter out of their house and shed overnight, dress him in Dudley's worn-out clothes and shoes (neither of which are weather-appropriate), lock him in the cupboard under the stairs, and when they get blackmailed into enrolling him in school, they send him to walk alone three miles to school.
    • Jasper's father treated him as The Un-Favourite due to being the son of a mistress that got pregnant. Once Jasper was bitten Lockwood senior threw him out with only the clothes on his back.
  • And I Must Scream: After the Dursleys tested the Dark Community's patience one too many times, according to Harry's silent analysis on the runework on the Dursleys, the Lich deliberately didn't destroy their souls because that would have left them brain-dead. Instead the Lich removed the Dursleys' souls without destroying them, so that their minds would be trapped and gibbering inside their heads.
  • Asshole Victim: After Dudley Dursley and friends vandalize the gardens of several vampires and try to commit arson at Prudence's Bed and Breakfast, the dark beings of Little Whinging have had enough of the Dursleys. The Lich removes Petunia and Vernon Dursley's souls from their bodies and turns said bodies into zombified puppets so they stop causing trouble. Even Harry is glad that the Dursleys have been dealt with.
  • Bad Boss: Voldemort full stop. Nott senior notes to his 'colleagues' that Harry does not demand humiliation and supplication from his dark creatures but treats them with respect and courtesy.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Bigoted pureblood wizards and biased, high ranking ministry personel wanted nothing more than the removal from Wizarding society of 'unwanted' elements such as werewolves, vampires, hags, other assorted dark creatures and muggleborns. Well, they got their wish, but the exodus caused tax revenue to fall down sharply to the point Fudge is afraid that eventually they will be unable to pay the people working at the Ministry of Magic.
  • Been There, Shaped History: Several of Harry's dark beings.
    • The Lich named Mud sunk Atlantis in a fit of pique
    • Lucifer is the Devil, nothing more needs to be added.
    • Judas the Damned is THAT Judas — Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
  • Benevolent Boss: Harry is the absolute ruler of all the dark creatures living in Little Whinging but he treats them as family, friend, and neighbours. Nott seniour points it out to his fellow Death Eaters that Harry has never requested that his dark creatures prostrate and humiliate themselves to show reverence.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: During his first visit in Diagon Alley Harry comes across a Light propaganda book depicting him as killing a werewolf. He becomes so enraged that he demands the writers get hunted down so they can be tortured by Prudence, his Hag relative, since goblins are not sufficiently cruel.
    • Also, Allison Dorea Black-Lockwood, proper lady, nurturing mother figure, loving wife. Even Lucifer Lightbringer himself does not cross her.
  • Birds of a Feather: Lucifer and Judas.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poor, poor Jasper. He escapes his cage and runs into a child during the full moon, which is literally his worst nightmare. Then Judas shows up and proceeds to flirt outrageously with him, Lucifer does the same. He is also Ally's bitch.
    • Arcturus Black gets mocked by Lucius Malfoy, belittled by Allison and bullied by Lucifer and Judas to the point he almost has a heart attack.
  • Children Are Innocent: The Lich seems to believe this since he tells Harry that Vernon and Petunia had a magical 'accident'. He explains to the goblin admiring the rune work on the Dursleys that Harry has a tender heart and should not be exposed to cruelty quite this early.
    • Harry however is sufficiently skilled in magic to be able to tell right away what really happened to the Dursleys. He takes it relatively well, feeling mostly happy that he does not have to live in their house anymore.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: According to Lucifer, Lich once had a very pure soul.
  • Cuteness Proximity: They main reason dark creatures are drawn to Harry is his dark aura but the fact that he is a very, very cute child adds to it.
    • Case to point, even The Hag herself, Baba Yaga dotes on him.
  • Daddy's Girl: Prudence Charnel-Potter, a very powerful and terrifying Hag that is close to two hundred years old had a very close relationship to her wizard father Haron Potter and still idolizes him long after his death.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Harry is the one true Dark Lord and yet he is very kind, benevolent and compassionate. Prudence and Lich have to spell out to Allison and Jasper that dark does not have to mean evil.
  • Dead Fic: Has not been updated since November 13th, 2017. Part of this is due to the fanbase demanding updates and the author busy with her day-to-day life.
  • Embarrassing First Name: The Lich's actual name translates to Mud.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Judas the Damned, First Vampire, Betrayer of Jesus, with hands and fangs dripping with god knows how much blood is disgusted with child abuse.
    • The Lich subjects Vernon and Petunia to And I Must Scream but he does not harm Dudley. In fact all he does is modify the boy's memories and send him to a good boarding school in hopes that he can be redeemed. It is a touch pragmatic since it is a good idea to preserve some of Lily's bloodline.
  • Falling Chandelier of Doom: Discussed when Jasper first gets a look inside The Lich's new home in Little Whinging and counts six chandeliers, he notes to himself that each of them could crush a man if they fell.
  • The Fashionista: Allison Dorea Black-Lockwood does not leave the house unless her outfit is impeccable and utterly elegant. Lucius Malfoy has this in common with her.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: The necromancer Lich that sunk Atlantis and was headmaster of Scholomance has the true name of Mud.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Harry has no trouble charming even beasts not classified as dark such as gryffins and dragons in addition to werewolves, vampires, dementors.
  • Fur Against Fang: A notable aversion. The vampires and werewolves in Privet Drive are thoroughly dedicated to taking care of Harry, and because of this common goal any friction between the two factions is basically nonexistent. Made especially notable since the trope would usually be played straight in the Wizarding World otherwise.
  • Henpecked Husband: Jasper is Allison's bitch and knows it all too well. He derides whoever said that the male is the head of the pureblood household.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The dark creatures have left mainstream British Wizarding Society due to the prejudice and biased laws against them. The Ministry are feeling this Diaspora very keenly in their purse since their revenue has gone down about one third, causing Fudge to want the werewolves, vampires and hags to come back so they can be taxed.
  • Insistent Terminology: Harry's name is Hadrian. The Lich will not have a dark lord called Harry.
  • It Runs in the Family: The women of House Black tend to be some shade of batshit insane. Arcturus is all too aware.
  • Joke and Receive: Allison finds out the Dursleys locked four-year-old Harry Potter out of the house overnight and he got frostbite, so as a concerned neighbor, she goes over to interrogate Petunia Dursley, inquiring after Harry. Allison, not seeing Harry or knowing where in the house he is, says "I note you've not left the house at all this morning, and wanted to confirm YOU gave him the appropriate treatment, and didn't just shove him into a cupboard somewhere." The cupboard statement was supposed to be facetious, but it startles Petunia into a heart attack, and then Dudley begrudgingly reveals that Harry Potter really is in the cupboard under the stairs. Allison is horrified.
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Arcturus Black summarizes Lucius Malfoy's demand to him, "Let me see if I can summarize your request concisely, Mr. Malfoy. You wish for me to disown my grandson, and rightful blood heir, Sirius Orion Black, and instead name your minor son as heir to House Black."
  • Light Is Not Good: Dumbledore purposefully places a toddler in an abusive environment and has had Lockhart Mind Rape Mrs. Figg in order to have a spy in Privet Drive.
    • Cornelius Fudge is also a light wizard and he is a disgustingly corrupt and self serving politician.
  • Logical Weakness: A magical contract does not bind someone who predates written language even if his true name is written in it.
  • Missing Reflection: Judas the first vampire remarks on how hard it is to floss his fangs when he can't see them in a mirror.
  • Mr. Exposition: Mud the Lich has this role. He explains to Jasper that there have been only two true Dark Lords in history. The first was Lucifer and the second is Harry. He also figures out how Harry's aura came to be.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Jasper, being a werewolf all too often ends up naked post transformation in front of people he would rather not be naked in front of.
  • Nightmare Fuel: For any werewolf that is a decent person is escaping from their restraints and biting or killing someone during the full moon.
  • Odd Friendship: Proper Lady Allison and Hag Prudence.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Everytime Lucifer is mentioned or around the Lich will mention the need to lock up the goats and assorted livestock.
  • Only Sane Man: Poor, poor Jasper has this role.
  • Our Liches Are Different: First thing, there is only One Lich, The Lich,
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: The werewolf of Little Whinging starts as a typical one by Potterverse standards but living in Harry's dark aura empowers and nourishes them to the point were they are able to change at will and there is enough harmony between man and wolf that they are in full control even under a new moon.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Judas the Damned is the very first vampire. Same as with werewolves, proximity to Harry enables them to endure sunlight and cross thresholds without invitation.
  • Papa Wolf: Jasper, literally. In order to protect Harry he is willing to take on the First Vampire, The Necromancer Lich. In fact every last one werewolf in the pack is willing to do the same. It is just a bit more emphasized in Jasper since he is Harry's actual foster dad.
  • Parental Issues: Judas hated his mother, calling her the old bitch. Lucifer hates his father aka God with the capital G. Is it any wonder that the two of them are fast friends?
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Fudge tells Umbridge off on using the word mudblood. Not because he is sympathetic toward muggleborns but because the open prejudice is causing them to leave and stop paying taxes.
    • The Lich spares Dudley partially because they might need someone of Lily's blood alive and well in the future.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Really Lich? You have trained Harry yourself in magic, do you really think he is not able to see and mostly identify the runework that makes the adult Dursleys into your zombified puppets?
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Ally is the very epitome of this trope. She is a squib from House Black, therefore a lady of perfect manners and breeding. She also is very able and very willing to give Petunia daily cardiac arrests and make dark beings far more powerful than her dance to her tune.
  • Self-Made Orphan: The Lich, likely Judas had fatally antagonistic relationships with their mothers.
  • Smug Snake: Lucius Malfoy openly antagonizes Lord Arcturus Black, who is less then impressed and can actually revoke his noble title.
  • Son of a Whore: To directly quote Lich, his mother was a streetwalker.
  • Soul Jar: Voldemort made six Horcruxes intentionally and one accidentally. The seventh one answers to Harry.
  • Thicker Than Water: The reason Arcturus will not disown Sirius and name a new heir? Sirius is his grandson.
  • Time Abyss: Lucifer has been around since the very beginning. The Lich is somewhere between eight thousand to five thousand, older than cuneiform, the first type of written language. Judas is two thousand years old.
  • Tom the Dark Lord: The Lich is extremely disdainful of this, which is why he is very insistent on calling Harry Hadrian.
  • Town with a Dark Secret: Not so secret, but as the muggles leave, Little Whinging is becoming the Sanctuary and Royal Capital of the Dark Lord.
