Learning and Sburbing by stacy-ampora-strider-ampora is a Homestuck Alternate Universe Fanfic in which the author's Author Avatar Stacia Worchester lives in Sburb and attends school with many of the characters from Homestuck. Many of them, however, have either declared love for or a vendetta against Stacia within seconds of first meeting her, and on top of that, there is the constant fear of a threat throughout Sburb, Prospit and Derse.

It is referred to by many as Homestuck's My Immortal, and garnered a lot of attention on Homestuck's subreddit, at least until it was superseded by cool and new web comic. Nevertheless, it still has the distinct honor of providing eight Homestuck-related WTF Fanfiction quotes in a row.

Tropes:

• Author Avatar: The main character's name is Stacia, while the author's name is Stacy.
• Awesome McCoolname: Laura Destinee Forgotten.
• Blatant Lies: The opening of the fic states that the AU involves no one dying, which is immediately proven wrong as Dave's death in Chapter 64 clearly shows.
• The Chosen One: Stacia, for... something.
• Cry into Chest:
  i slapped him again "dont toy with my emotions!" tears were coming out of my eyes, landing on his shirt which made his abs visible (he was holding my head in his arms)
• Dead Fic: The fic itself hasn't been updated since 2016, and it's likely it will never be updated.
• Delinquent Hair: Laura has a pink mohawk.
• Dream Land: Prospit and Derse. Unlike Homestuck, though, you can actually choose where to dream on a night-per-night basis.
• Driven to Suicide: Stacia considers suicide for about five seconds due to her love triangle.
• Giftedly Bad: As a meta-example, Stacy.
• Good Girls Avoid Abortion: Apparently Stacia got pregnant when she was 14 (due to a doctor examining her lady parts with sperm on his hand), and had an abortion, which made her guilty. The second time (from Eridan), she is determined to go through it.
• High School AU: The premise in a nutshell.
• Important Haircut: Stacia gives herself one while frustrated.
• Interspecies Adoption: Stacia, who is part fairy, by the human Worchesters.
• I Hate Past Me: Stacia, due to her Love Triangle with Eridan and Dave, feels this way towards her "erth self" for obsessing over wanting a boyfriend.

• Luke, I Am Your Father: The goo monster who haunted Stacia in her dreams in the early chapters reveals himself to be Stacia and John's dad.
• Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: At the end of the story, a giant squid emerges from behind a mountain to head toward Sburb University. Whatever the squid was supposed to be doesn't get explained or was ever foreshadowed beforehand. The fact the story ends with this makes this an odd note to end on as well.
• "Metaphor" Is My Middle Name:
  Laura: i guess my destiny realized it got it wrong because when i woke up i was in this portal.
  Stacia (narrating): i laughed because destinee is her middle name.
• Once per Episode: Somebody cries, or Stacia "can't even believe" something.
• Rouge Angles of Satin: Errors in spelling and grammar are very frequent.
• Sadist Teacher: Mr. Hussie, though given his characterization in the original webcomic, it's not entirely out of character.
