Dark Fic / The Loud House

Go To

For a lighthearted show with a fairly simple premise, The Loud House has quite the number of rather dark fan works.

  • The Loud Comic, also known as I Love My Brother, is a fan comic revolving around Luan, who's reimagined as a psychopathic Yandere. Luan is introduced violently murdering Ronnie Anne as to get rid of any potential rivals to her brother's affections. She later finds out that Lynn is another rival, and has a meltdown over it.
  • Requiem for a Loud is a very popular Loud House fanfic where Lincoln gets diagnosed with a terminal illness and is given only a few weeks to live. Its popularity has inspired several similar stories.
  • Lucy's Birth isn't as dark in comparison to other fanfics listed here, since its dark elements are mostly Fanon explanations that are eventually left out as irrelevant to the plot midway through, but it explains Lucy's pale skin as her having anemia, as well as explaining her stare being creepy as her having bloodshot eyes. Also, what caused the anemia and bloodshot eyes was almost dying from being born early. At the beginning of the fanfic, there's also a random scene of a younger Lincoln and Lynn (three and five years old respectively) nearly drowning.
  • Discussed in The Loud House Fandom Steriotypes (sic): It mentions that common dark themes for Loud House fanfic are:
  • Downplayed with The Nightmare House, where the nightmares the children have are very horrific, but they wake up and are fine.
  • In The Broken House, Lori is a bounty hunter who broke up with Bobby after he knocked her up, Leni is in an abusive relationship and suffering from selective mutism, Luna has gone insane, Luan is a Sad Clown, Lynn is in a wheelchair, Lincoln has a split personality, Lucy is on drugs, Lana thinks she's a dog, Lola is a prostitute, Lisa has crippling social anxiety, and Lily is a ghost (who was apparently stillborn). While most of them earn their happy endings, the story has a Bittersweet Ending as opposed to a full-blown Happy Ending (for instance, Lisa's social anxiety is gone, but Lana still thinks she's a dog).
  • Some of the fanfics covered by Peeking Through the Fourth Wall:
    • In Substitute Roommate, Luna has a psychotic breakdown just because Luan is at camp.
    • In Bad Blood, Lincoln and Lynn have a very long fight which lands both in the hospital.
    • In Trustworthy, Lincoln nearly dies in a fire and the siblings' favourite possessions (and possibly Izzy and El Diablo) burn up.
    • In The Diary of a Loud, Lincoln punches Lola hard enough to send her to hospital just because she embarrassed him by reading his diary to her class for show-and-tell.
    • In Melancholinc, Lincoln angsts over being dull.
    • In Lincoln's Twin Brother, Luan feels useless.
    • In The Property of Luan Loud, Luan is raped by a transmogrified Leni.
    • In The Diary of Luan Loud, Luan is a sadistic, psycopathic, bigoted, pedophiliac rapist who also wants to kill her siblings and cat.
    • Subverted in The Edgy House, where it seems as though the Louds are incestuous and abusive, but it's just The Aristocrats joke.
    • In Hide-and-Seek, it's revealed that Lincoln is hallucinating his sisters, who aren't even real.
  • In Cleansing, Luan is very sad and apathetic and doesn't even know why.
  • In Mystery of the Self-Loathing Loud, Lincoln finds a suicide note and investigates.
  • In A Bit Dramatic for My Taste, the Loud sisters find Lincoln's audio diary and believe he's suicidal. Even the revelation that he isn't, it's just a school project doesn't help much, because by then, the police have gotten involved and Lincoln has gotten his knee seriously injured.
  • In Easily Broken, Lincoln feels like the black sheep of his family, and so runs away to New York. He also tries to kill himself several times.
  • Lincoln is Done involves Lynn and Luna being suicidal, although downplayed as those are only small scenes.
  • The Secret is a fan comic, which was later adapted into a fanfic, centered on Luna who, after dealing with a nasty breakup and quickly falling into one of Luan's hurtful pranks, begins to develop a dependency on Lincoln. A dependency that quickly deteriorates into an unhinged lust. With her mental state dissolving into full-blown insanity, Luna will do anything to make Lincoln hers forever. Even if it means taking out a certain Dumb Blonde that seems to have caught everyone's eye.
  • End of Days starts in what seems like a normal day for both the Louds and the Santiago-Casagrande extended family, only for the title to take on a terrifyingly literal meaning when a giant asteroid is discovered, before colliding with Earth 5 days later, forcing our heroes to fight for their survival in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Blood, violence, and destruction are shown in graphic detail, as well as the deaths of countless characters, including kids.
  • Burning Secret: The story is about Lincoln accidentally starting a fire at school, and being very shaken and paranoid that he’d be mistaken for an arsonist.
