The Broken House is a The Loud House fan fiction written by Omega Ultra. It's now complete with 13 chapters.
The plot is simple: In an alternate Royal Woods, Michigan, the Loud family have a surprisingly... moody and dark take on their life. In this alternate reality, the Louds are, for lack of a better word, broken.
For starters: Lisa is an egotistical, lonely scientist, Lana acts like a dog because she thinks she is one, Lola is a whore, Lucy is a drug addict, Lincoln has a split personality, Lynn is paralyzed from the waist down, Luan is a Sad Clown, Luna is... out there, Leni is in an abusive relationship and Lori is an underaged mother who works as a bounty hunter. Lily? She didn't even get to be born.
So yeah, not a very cheerful fic. However, life seems to pick up for each Loud every chapter. That alone make this a nice read. It can be read here

- Adaptational Jerkass: In canon, Bobby is a Kindhearted Simpleton who genuinely loves Lori. Here? He deserts Lori after getting her pregnant.
- Bittersweet Ending: The fic ends with Lori still broken up with Bobby but happily married to Carol, Leni broken up with Brad and no longer mute but still in therapy, Luna still a bit batty but considerably saner than before, Luan happy again, Lynn still in a wheelchair but happy as a coach, Lincoln no longer with a split personality as Liberty is now an actual person, Lucy happy again, Lana still insane, Lola back to being a normal little girl, Lisa no longer a loner, and Lily still dead.
- Breather Episode: Chapter 7 is a very silly, comedic chapter following Lily and Lana.
- Cliffhanger: Chapter 4 ends with Lisa promising to repay Lincoln and Liberty for their help.
- Cute Mute: Going by the narration, Leni seems to be one of these; a cute girl but with selective mutism. That happens when you have a bad boyfriend.
- Damned by Faint Praise: At the end of the first chapter, the narrator says he thinks Lily got off the most easy. Keep in mind that Lily's dead.
- Dark Fic: It's a fanfic about a depressing alternate reality to The Loud House, what did you expect? However, starts to become subverted. The life of each Loud get better every chapter, and by the end of it they've become a happy and (Kind of) normal family. Double-subverted though as, for instance, Lily's still dead and Lana still thinks she's a dog.
- Earn Your Happy Ending:
- Lori has, at least. After finishing the seemingly Impossible Mission, she and Carol quit bounty hunting and decide to raise Lynx together.
- We can add Lynn to the list. After her home sports team failed so many times to win the game, they finally score a win against their opponents thanks to Lynn herself.
- And now Lisa. She got a friend, and has begun to socialize.
- And Luan. She has Maggie by her side.
- Really, the entire fic is about each member of the family getting this.
- Elevator Failure: During the Impossible Mission in chapter 2, forcing Lori and Carol to manually go up the building.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: It's The Loud House, only it's inhabitants are, well, broken.
- Failed a Spot Check: In chapter 2, Lori fails to see the connection between "C. Pink and Grey" to Carol Pingrey.
- Greed: The basis for the bounty hunter code, "the reason is the money".
- Impossible Mission: Lori and Carol go through one of these in order to quit being bounty hunters once and for all. They succeed by the end of the chapter.
- Literal Metaphor: If what Carol said is true, Bobby got Lori pregnant on their first date.
- Pair the Smart Ones: Platonic example. Lisa befriends a boy named Dexter in chapter 4 because they both share brains and interests.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Whenever "Liberty" takes over Lincoln's body, all that changes is that his eyes turn white and he puts on a pink tiara.
- Poetry Fic: The first chapter.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Lola and Lana play this even harder than in the original series; Lana has essentially been reduced to the mind of a dog but seems to be happy, while Lola is still sane and is highly dissatisfied with her current job.
- Precision F-Strike: Lola calls Bobby a "fucker" after giving him her "services".
- Run the Gauntlet: With another agent, sentry guns, and an elevator ride!
- Shout-Out: When Ronnie Anne asks if Lynn is crying, she says she's just sweating from her eyes.
- Sentry Gun: Lori and Carol encounter this during their Impossible Mission.
- Stepford Smiler: All of the Louds are this to some extent, but Luan is the biggest example. These smiles, especailly Luan's, have offcialy become real however.
- Taking the Bullet: Liberty takes a dodgeball for Lincoln.
