  • Abhorrent Admirer: In the special, he makes several unwanted advances towards the Ballerina while the Soldier is gone. This trait is absent in the special.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Once a sinister and hideous monster in the special, he gained softer facial features and longer hair in the series, making him fit better with the general cutesiness of the other toys.
  • Informed Species: The only thing that hints he's a goblin is his pointy ears.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He can be mischievous and a trickster, but still a good friend.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Downplayed; he wears red and black, but he's not evil, just tricky.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: At the end of The Tin Soldier, the Jack-in-the-Box was shattered on the floor. In The Toy Castle, he lives to the end.
  • Sweet Tooth: Some episodes, namely "Tea Party" and "Mid Summer Nightmare", show he has a love for sweets, though he tends to overdo it and end up feeling sick to his stomach.

    The Strongman
Portrayed by: Dale Rowse (The Tin Soldier), David Lucas (The Toy Castle)

    The China Doll
Portrayed by: Marie-Claude Sabourin (The Tin Soldier), Jennifer Welsman (The Toy Castle)

  • A Dog Named "Dog": China Doll is indeed a doll made of fine china.

    The Sailor
Portrayed by: Jean-Francois Allie (The Tin Soldier) Raven S. Wilder (The Toy Castle)

    The Frogs
Frederick portrayed by: Sophia Constantini
Freda portrayed by: Ashley Barker

  • Alliterative Family: Frederick and Freda Frog.
  • Artistic License – Biology: They're identical twins, a boy and girl. In real like, identical twins are always the same sex. Additionally, frogs are born in large litters of tadpoles, so it's unlikely that there would only be two twins. However, this may be because they're toys, and not real frogs.
  • Red/Green Contrast: They have green skin, and wear red clothes.

    The Mice
Papa Mouse portrayed by: Michael Flynn
Mama Mouse portrayed by: Daiva Preston
Little Mouse portrayed by: Corrine Vessey
