    • Dale Rowse plays both the Strongman and one of the soldiers.
    • Jean-Francois Allie plays both the Sailor and one of the soldiers.

  • In The Toy Castle, Rick Jones is the narrator and does voices for all the characters, so he's Acting for Thirteen.
• Channel Hop: The original special was produced with the help of Ottawa Ballet. The series switched to the Canada Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
• Cross-Cast Role: Sophia Constantini, who is female, is the suit actor for Frederick Frog, who is male.
• Crossdressing Voices: Rick Jones, who is male, voices the female Ballerina, Rag Doll, China Doll, Freda Frog, and Mama Mouse.
• Descended Creator: Elizabeth Olds, who plays the Ballerina, was also an assistant choreographer.
• The Other Darrin: The special and the series have two completely different casts:
