Bozo the Clown
- Bob Bell (1961-1984)
Joey D'Auria (1984-2001)
The main star and host of the show.
- Deadpan Snarker: Can have shades of this.
- Every Episode Ending: The Grand March.
- Friend to All Children: Comes with being a Non-Ironic Clown.
- Game Show Host: For the Grand Prize Game segment.
- The Trickster: Especially in his cartoon show.
Cooky the Cook
- Roy Brown (1968-1994)
His sidekick cook. He also shows the prizes to the contestant on Bozo's Grand Prize Game.
- Berserk Button: Do not say anything negative about his French toast.
- Butt-Monkey: Cooky often got the wrong end of his various failed attempts to trick or beat Bozo at something, often ending with a pie to the face.
- Cordon Bleugh Chef: His only recipe was French toast.
Wizzo
- Marshall Brodien (1968-1994; 2001 [Bozo: 40 Years of Fun!])
The show's resident magician. The other clowns' attempts to replicate his tricks never ended well.
- "Arabian Nights" Days: Said to hail from "Arobia."
- Artifact of Power: The "Stone of Zanzabar," which gave him his magic powers.
- Cast the Expert: Brodien was a veteran magician who marketed his own line of magic kits and card decks, which were, for a time during his tenure, frequent bucket #2 or #3 prizes in the Grand Prize Game.
Oliver O. Oliver
- Ray Rayner (1960-1971)
A hick clown from Puff Bluff, Kentucky.
- Butt-Monkey: Like Cooky, Oliver frequently found himself on the business end of the show's seemingly endless supply of pies.
Sandy the Tramp
- Don Sandberg (1960-1969)
A mute tramp clown.
Ringmaster Ned
- Ned Locke (1960-1976)
Ringmaster Frazier
- Frazier Thomas (1976-1985)
Replaced Ringmaster Ned after he retired. Died after suffering a stroke; the position of ringmaster was retired after his passing.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Like Ned, Frazier was a stocky, middle-aged, genial-looking man.
Rusty
- Robin Eurich (1994-2001)
- Expy: To Cooky, though a handyman rather than a cook.
