I wonder how long… you puny ants can keep up the bravado… once your precious gods are killed once the Great Creator, Cancer Lucrenian, is done? The ultimate goal of our lord and savior, Project Omega, is to change the world through destruction and recreation. The only way… that can happen is if the gods and beings who govern this world… are exterminated. You’d best pray, ngh, that never happens… Once the Great Creator completes milord, no enemy will be safe from its divine wrath… First, Death himself, then the Great Old Ones, then the Warlocks, then the Grand Witch… and finally the world!”
Gilgamesh in reference to Project Omega

Project 00000Ω: Omega, or just simply Project Omega, is the Greater-Scope Villain of the story. This creature represents an ambitious project spearheaded by the Lucrenian Clan, a clan of technologically advanced Witches. While details are sketchy about her ancestor’s role with Project Omega, Cancer, a descendant from the aforementioned clan, has taken up the mantle and seeks out to finish the job.

Simply speaking, Project Omega is an entity meant to change the world through destruction and recreation, a task that can only be done if the project itself is completed. The process itself is seemingly rather lengthy, as Cancer herself has worked tirelessly on it for years yet is nowhere near done. Regardless, Project Omega is showing development as the story progresses – starting out as a flawed prototype with only primitive intelligence, it is since becoming a more intelligent lifeform capable of greater power.

Beware of unmarked spoilers.

    General
  • Apocalypse How: The details are sketchy right now, but “create a new world” with Project Omega could imply anything from a Class 3a, 3b, to a Class X. Or, more mundanely, literally creating a different world nobody approves of.
  • Arc Symbol: The Greek letter omega.
  • Artificial Human: Project Omega is an artificial lifeform/monstrosity with a rather lofty plan behind its creation.
  • Bio-Augmentation: Cancer constantly performs experiments and modifications on Project Omega to mold it into its destined role as destroyer and creator.
  • Cyber Cyclops: Both this and the organic version count since its first and second forms are both mechanical and organic.
  • Cyborg: Project Omega is composed of flesh and machinery, though the latter is more prominent.
  • Cyclops: A sole red eye is a consistent feature on all forms.
  • Darkness Equals Death: The first and second forms make their first appearances in the dead of night, framed in shadows.
  • Deadpan Snarker: You know the setting is a World of Snark when the first line of The Dreaded Greater-Scope Villain is some dissatisfied snark.
  • Destroyer Deity: What it's ultimately meant to become.
  • End of the World as We Know It: Part of the plan associated with Project 00000Ω: Omega is the destruction of the world.
  • Eye Beams: Its most used power is discharging powerful beams from its eye.
  • Götterdämmerung: The intended outcome of the Project Omega Evil Plan. The gods of this world are to be slain by Project Omega itself once it is powerful enough. Only afterwards can be the destruction and recreation of the world begin.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Although it spends much of the time in the background inside a tube as a disembodied soul, Project Omega is understood to be the Number 1 threat, with the potential of ending everything every side unaligned with Novus Partus knows and loves. Now that we know its main purpose, its completion is synonymous with the end of the world.
  • Kill the Gods: Since making a new world, for better or worse, doesn't come until after the end of the world, this is more or less Project Omega's primary goal — for the new world to come, the gods and those who govern the world must be killed.
  • Living Weapon: The presence of a soul and soul wavelength means Project Omega is indeed alive. Now that it can communicate and think, the presence of a personality can follow. Its main role basically amounts to being a weapon of mass destruction.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: See Cyclops.
  • Restart the World: Its aim is to change the world befitting the whims of the antagonists.
  • Shrouded in Myth: There is a lot of speculation and questions surrounding Project Omega. “What exactly is Project Omega?” is something of a Driving Question. What did the ancestral Lucrenians want to do with it? HOW can it be completed? We gradually get what amount to breadcrumbs of information that are very loosely connected or explained. That makes Project Omega one of the story’s biggest mysteries.
  • Telepathy: Shows this ability in The Stinger of Act 1, speaking to Cancer for the first time ever.
  • You Can Talk?: Cancer's reaction to Project Omega's telepathy is a wordless version.

    Primordial Form
Chronologically, the first form of Project Omega, but in a very primitive state, hence the form. It is a large, feral monstrosity composed of black energy. Project Omega's Primordial Form is called the "template" of the project that represents its power and potential. In other words, it sounds like a living blueprint. Nevertheless, while an unstable being, Cancer has used the entity in the Vladingham Family Massacre, a testament to its strength.
  • Dark Is Evil: Its whole body is just a streamlined mass of pitch-black energy, and it’s the original form of the Greater-Scope Villain.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The most monstrous form of Project Omega yet. While the others have something organic or mechanical about it, the Primordial Form is neither. It is just a streamline mass of black energy with a single red slit for an eye. It relies on basic instinct and observation. Its body is stated by Cancer to be unstable, and Kujira says it is a template that represents the project’s potential and power. There is nothing remotely natural about it.
  • Energy Being: That blackness is solidified energy.
  • Mighty Roar: Project Omega’s Primordal Form releases such a loud roar after it’s summoned to Rozniak (in Saeculum), that everyone in the town is said to hear it.
  • Monster Progenitor: Cancer extracted parts of the Primordial Form, which apparently manifested as separate creatures called Darkling that resemble miniature versions of it. Old comrades of Cancer then stole Magicite, a crystal, from witch researchers. Cancer used it to make something even better – the Anria. So, to clarify, the existence of Anria traces back to Project Omega’s Primordial Form.
  • Superior Successor: The “template” of Project Omega was summoned in the Vladingham Family Massacre. Considering how much Cancer brags about that being a huge success, one can argue Project Omega’s Primordial Form has the best track record so far.

    First Form
The first form of Project Omega to make an appearance. With only two legs to drag itself around and a single eye, it nonetheless stood out as a threat big enough to fight Maka and Soul and intimidate Gestas into submission. Cancer had no long-term plans for it, deeming it just a prototype; truly, the only reason behind the encounter was to test its abilities so she can address the flaws and work out the kinks.
  • Break the Badass: Intimidates Caius when he encounters it to the point he trembles in fear staring it down.
  • Break the Haughty: Through mere presence alone, Gestas immediately stops badmouthing Cancer in her debut when this thing shows up.
  • Flawed Prototype: By Cancer’s own admission, Project Omega’s First Form is nothing more than a prototype. In spite of the threat it posed, it makes amateurish mistakes against just two people, possesses very limited intelligence, and malfunctions when faced with something stranger than it.
  • Mechanical Monster: Project Omega's First Form is a powerful prototype whose simple presence utterly intimidated Young Thief Gestas and even Caius. It was strong enough to beat Maka and Caius with no effort, and Cancer outright threatens to raze the whole of Venice, Italy with it. After its defeat, Cancer makes a new body for it, but it evolves into something more sinister.
  • Silent Antagonist: Has the distinction of being only the form not to make a single sound.

    Second Form
The next body made following the destruction of the first prototype. Whereas the last one was reasonably sized and defeated by just two meisters, this one is so massive it can topple buildings just by moving and can bring about larger-scale destruction. With dark legs and a stark white body, Project Omega's Second Form shows the most development between forms and truly embodies the menace the experimental monster can bring.
  • Dark Is Evil: The mechanical parts of its body are dark-colored.
  • Evil Is Bigger: Only Atlas and Gladiolus can contend with it size-wise.
  • Growing Wings: Deploys its wing units near the in the final phase of it so it can deliver its last, most powerful attack.
  • Hand Blast: Out of desperation, the Second Form deploys its wing units and hovers slightly above the Chicago Gang territory. As it does, it proceeds to generate energy between its front two legs near the ends, intending to blow everyone and everything to bits. Luckily, we never see the blast, as it is stopped by Stein.
  • It Can Think: The Second Form marks the first time Project Omega thinks, makes deductions, and speaks (via telepathy) coherent, fully-structured sentences.
  • Light Is Not Good: Its main body is stark white.
  • Mechanical Abomination: Project Omega's Second Form is depicted as such. It is a massive monstrosity made of mechanical parts, synthetic flesh, and a single red eye that spends most of the time shrugging everything thrown at it from all sides. Its destructive potential keeps everyone on high alert. To top it off, Stein, Crona, and oddly enough Rowena seem to lose their minds when they first look at the thing.
  • Madness Mantra: During the first moments of its Villainous Breakdown:
“What is… this feeling?! I don’t like it. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. IT HURTS!”
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: It spends most of its fight tanking attacks from all sides from many opponents. It’s telling the only things that permanently damaged it were the most powerful techniques from some of the more special weapons in the setting.
  • No-Sell: Several times in its one fight, but here's a particular example: Project Omega, in a phase of the fight when it's using its red tendrils, is struck by lightening when distracted. It likens the attack to being struck by a pillow.
Kim and Crona resumed their aerial assault. Its tendrils still out, it thrashed them about, trying to hack the two flyers. Then, it felt something akin to being struck with a pillow in the back of the head. ”Oh, right. They're trying to hurt me.” It readjusted its position, feeling it a few more times. It was Ox casting lightning from his spear.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: The Chicago Gang territory is absolutely ravaged and razed by the time is destroyed.
  • Red Sky, Take Warning: The sky turns red after Cancer summons it to Chicago.
  • Super Prototype: Its Second Form is a massive improvement over the form that initially debuts, requiring much more effort to beat, displays better power, and is actually intelligent.
  • Villainous Breakdown: The first time it is seriously hurt, Project Omega’s Second Form grows more erratic as its more sensible mind experiences pain for the first time. This eventually paves the way for its final defeat.
  • Zerg Rush: With a combination of massive size, destructive power, and extreme resilience to damage, it took the combined might of several meisters from multiple homerooms, two Death Scythes, powerful teachers, and emergency personnel like the S.W.A.T. Team to take Project Omega's Second Form down.
