Dilweed and Fungus Chuck

The title characters. A pair of astoundingly moronic woodchucks who love to do kung fu and try to use their martial arts skills to fight evil... even though both of them are unbelievably inept at both.
- Achievement In Ignorance: All of their victories are the result of dumb luck, pun intended.

- Big Eater: Both of them can eat big quantities of food, although Fungus clearly tends toward this more consistently.
- Black-Hole Belly: Dilweed once accidentally got eaten by Fungus and ended up inside his stomach.
- Big Brother Mentor: It's subtle, but Dilweed seems to be the slightly more confident older brother who Fungus looks up to.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: They're so detached from reality that it takes some time before they realize when anything's wrong (if they even do). Also, they occasionally hallucinate spiritual advice from Woodchuck Morris.
- Disability Immunity: They are so stupid that a Brain Eraser has no effect on them.
- The Ditz: Both of them are absolute morons 24/7.
- The Dividual
- Dumbass No More: Fungus temporarily becomes a genius in "Are You Smarter Than a Woodchuck?" after putting on Granny's old glasses.
- Fanboy: Dilweed and Fungus both adore their idol, Woodchuck Morris. Heck, in one episode, they were willing to buy a Woodchuck Morris fart in a jar (which was really Buford's far in it) from Buford in exchange for most of their stuff.
- Gasshole: At times.
- Hammerspace: Fungus' nose is able to store large items.
- Hidden Depths: They know the difference between a city, a hamlet, and a township.
- Idiot Hero: Both of them are complete dimwits with no common sense, but try to be heroic and help others, emphasis on try.
- Idiot Houdini: In some episodes, the woodchucks get away with mass destruction and hurt others around them due to their stupidity.
- In-Series Nickname: "Chuckleheads" by Buford.
- Keet: Both of them count, but Fungus is more prominent with this.
- Lethally Stupid: If they do something, anything, someone will get hurt.
- Obliviously Evil: Two woodchuck brothers with a passion of kung fu (learning from their idol Woodchuck Morris), they commonly serve a role as vigilantes around the town of Ding-A-Ling Springs, or helping their friends. But due to their stupidity and delusion, they often unknowingly cause mass destruction and hurt others around them (usually their neighbor Buford), even though they do make heroic deeds at times.
- Tag Team Twins: They're wannabe martial artists and they did fight against two wrestlers they insulted in one episode.
- Too Dumb to Live: Both of them have narrowly escaped with their lives due to their stupidity on countless occasions.
- Too Kinky to Torture: They are often too dumb to even realize danger even as they are being subjected to it.
Quills
- Voiced by: Bryn McAuley
A small blue porcupine who works at a bowling alley where the Woodchuck brothers hang out. She is probably the closest thing they have to a friend beyond each other.
- Autocannibalism: She munches on her, well, quills when she's nervous.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: In the christmas episode she is more than willing to kiss Buford under the mistletoe.
- Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: At times she serves as this to the Woodchuck brothers.
- Nice Girl: One of the only characters who is always kind to the Woodchuck brothers and almost never loses her patience.
- Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: She wears a skirt, but not top.
- Hidden Depths: One episode reveals that she's a secret agent and that working at Pinheads is her cover.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: In "Quills Unleashed" she gets a blow to the head causing her to go into a coma with her eyes open, during which she accidentally binge watches all of the Woodchuck Morris videos and ends up being a kung-fu obsessed wannabe hero like the Dilweed and Fungus.
- Only Sane Woman: Generally the sane one around the Woodchuck brothers, sometimes giving eye-rolls when they're a bit overly stupid.
- Platonic Life-Partners: With the Woodchuck brothers, though the trailer seemed to indicate she was a love interest.
Buford G. Butternut
- Voiced by: Andrew Jackson (actor)
An ill-tempered sheep who lives with his grandmother. He hates a lot of things, but especially the Woodchuck brothers, whose antics drive him crazy.
- Aerith and Bob: He's the only character with a realistic person name.
- All Love Is Unrequited: Has a crush on Quills which is not mutual.
- Asshole Victim: He gets his fair share of punishment and it's always warranted.
- Butt-Monkey / The Chew Toy: Virtually all his appearances involve him getting hurt in some way.
- Catchphrase: "Aw crud buckets!"
- Cosmic Plaything: One episode involved a meteor predicted to land on him.
- Deadpan Snarker: He can be quite sarcastic when dealing with the Chucks.
- Enraged by Idiocy: As expected, given his two protagonist neighbors.
- Expy: Of Squidward Tentacles. Both are neighbors of the idiotic protagonists, who the protagonists believe is their friends, when in reality he hates them.
- Freudian Excuse: Buford used to be unlike his current personality when he was around six, before the Chucks accidentally shut a door on him and something inside him snapped before the Chucks came out and wondered where he went.
- Jerkass: He's rude and obnoxious to everyone, especially to the Chucks.
- Laser-Guided Karma: He gets his comeuppance a lot.
- Lazy Bum: Buford doesn't like getting off his couch for anything. Heck, his first appearance has him yelling back at his grandma that he doesn't want to answer the door because he's watching TV.
- Manipulative Bastard: Occasionally, he will trick the Chucks into either doing his bidding, or simply getting them out of his wool.
- Only Sane Man: Often a case of Jerkass Has a Point.
- Sweet Sheep: Inverted. He's a sheep who bullies and belittles the main characters on a regular basis.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: That is until the Chucks accidentally slammed a door in his face.
Hooves
- Voiced by: Robert Tinkler
A moose who lives next door to the Woodchuck brothers. Unfortunately for him, their stupidity is the cause of a great deal of his everyday misery.
- Big, Screwed-Up Family
- Butt-Monkey: Life constantly gives him the short-end of the stick, often due to Dilweed and Fungus.
- Chick Magnet: Grandma Butternut has a huge crush on him.
- Expy: Again, of Squidward. Unlike Buford who inherited his Jerkass side, Hooves inherited his love of gardening, relaxation and acting fancy.
- Just a Stupid Accent: A German accent.
- Moose Are Idiots: A rare inversion; Hooves is actually decently intelligent. Although he did once wrap himself completely in toilet paper to avoid getting dirty, which admittedly sounds like something of this trope.
- Neat Freak: Extremely obsessed with everything being clean.
