    George Joestar III

George Joestar III

Stand: Tusk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johnny_joestar.png

The Eighth JoJo. In an alternate continuity, he is known as Johnny Joestar. Here, he is the son of Joseph Joestar and the brother of Holly Kujo.

His Stand, Tusk (named after a Fleetwood Mac song), comes in four Acts that grant different powers — the first three Acts involve using his own fingernails as weapons, while the fourth Act simply gains incredible combat ability.

  • Abled in the Adaptation: He still has the use of his legs in this story.
  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: His life turned out far better than Johnny's did. Not only is his sibling still alive, but he has a much better relationship with his parents and never got crippled. That being said, he does end up with a bit of an inferiority complex over destiny passing him over in favor of the rest of his family, though he tries to keep that hidden.
  • Adaptational Name Change: A given since he's not an alternate universe version of Jonathan Joestar in this story.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: While Tusk Act 1 is similar to canon, Acts 2-4 have slightly different powers, such as giving George a razor punch via his nails spinning around his hand.
  • Fetishes Are Weird: A downplayed example. He's not turned on by bug bites like canon, but rather earrings.
  • Heroic Willpower: He makes use of this while fighting Ulbert to push through My Band's power and successfully break its curse.
  • Like Father, Like Son: He lets out a classic Joseph Joestar "OH MY GOD" when he sees Holly in the alter verse.
  • Official Couple: He and Starlight wind up as a couple during the story.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After knocking aside Ulbert during the attack on E-Rantel, he starts getting more aggressive than normal. It turns out he was affected by Ulbert's Stand, and needed to take him down a second time in order to negate the effect.
  • Reincarnation: It's eventually revealed that he's the reincarnation of his own grandfather and great-great-grandfather, the previous two George Joestars.
  • Required Secondary Powers: The nails he fires off can regrow almost instantly, and he doesn't feel any pain when they shoot off.
  • Secretly Selfish: Deep down he's actually upset that he was passed over by destiny in lieu of his brother-in-law, nephew, half-brother, uncle, and grand-niece in that order.

    Gyro Zeppeli

Gyro Zeppeli

Stand: Ball Breaker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gyro_zeppeli.png

The oldest of the Zeppeli children, Gyro Zeppeli is George's best friend. Hol Horse of Stardust Crusaders and Rarity of Golden Wind are his youngest brother and niece, respectively.

His Stand, Ball Breaker (named after the AC/DC song "Ballbreaker"), can make anything it hits instantly age to the point of becoming mere dust.

    Starlight Glimmer

Stella Lux Iumen Ryle Vaiself

Stand: Dove and Grenade

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/starlight_3.png

The first princess of Re-Estiz, Starlight Glimmer quickly joins George and Gyro as they work to restore the alter verse's Spirit Tracks.

Her Stand, Dove and Grenade (named after a Hollywood Undead song), lets her control the Chinese elements of fire, earth, water, wood, and metal via the tattoo on her back.

  • Crossover Relatives: She's a member of the Vaiself royal family.
  • Elemental Powers: Her Stand gives her the ability to control the Chinese classical elements of fire, earth, water, wood, and metal, for both creation and destruction.
  • Official Couple: She eventually forms a relationship with George.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: She is noted to be very beautiful, so much that George was awed when he first saw her. She is also a Princess (albeit an illegitimate one) who is capable of combat, and her Stand, Dove and Grenade, gives her command over all the Chinese classical elements.
  • Sexy Backless Outfit: Necessary for her Stand to be exposed and available at all times.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: She's the first to start investigating what's happening to the Spirit Tracks that have united the alter verse for centuries.

    Hekkeran Termite

Hekkeran Termite

Stand: Ticket to Ride

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hekkeran_termite.png

The leader of a worker group named Foresight, who soon takes on a vital role in the Joestar Faction.

His Stand, Ticket to Ride (named after a song by The Beatles), is a heavily-armored, supernatural train that acts as a companion piece to the Ancient One's Stand, Down at the Station. Not only can it chug along tracks created by itself or Down at the Station, it is also armed with various weapons like gatling guns and rocket launchers.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: The canon version of Ticket to Ride is... Vastly different, to say the least...
  • Expy: Ticket to Ride's munitions are based off the DenLiner. The extension Stands used by his teammates are the same way.
  • Good Counterpart: Ticket to Ride can be seen as this for Anubis, an independant Stand that can swap from user to user. The difference is Ticket to Ride is subservient to its current user until they die, whereas Anubis subjects its current user to Demonic Possession.
  • Legacy Character: Hekkeran's not the first user of Ticket to Ride. In fact, it has no definitive user, since much of it is crafted from the Cape York meteorite, allowing it to remain even when its user dies.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Ticket to Ride has As in all but precision and potential, and its tracks can be created at Hekkeran's will.
  • Logical Weakness: As Hekkeran notes, Ticket to Ride is less effective indoors due to being a big honking train.
  • Rags to Riches: He and his team are offered a whole mausoleum's worth of Nazarick's treasure horde in exchange for helping to expose Count Femel as an agent of the Unity Faction.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: His fate in canon was to become a nest for giant cockroachs. Here, he never suffers such a fate.

    Imina

Imina

Stand: Love Train

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/imina.png

A female half-elf archer who is a member of Foresight.

Her Stand, Love Train (named after a song by The O'Jays), functions as an extension of Ticket to Ride that adds plasma launchers to its arsenal.

  • Decomposite Character: The original version of Love Train was just an extra ability of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.
  • Fusion Dance: Love Train is meant to be an extension of Ticket to Ride, attaching to it like any other train car.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Like Hekkeran, she doesn't have to worry about becoming a nest for parasites this time around.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: She makes use of a bow with blunt arrows for normal combat.

    Roberdyck Goltron

Roberdyck Goltron

Stand: Peace Train

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/roberdyck_goltron.png

A priest and worker, Roberdyck Goltron is one of the members of Foresight.

His Stand, Peace Train (named after a Cat Stevens song), is much like Love Train, being an extension of Ticket to Ride that adds to its arsenal. In this case, it adds giant axes.

  • Fusion Dance: His Stand is the second car attachment for Ticket to Ride.
  • Irony: As a cleric, he specializes in blunt weapons due to his religion abhorring the spilling of blood. His Stand involves a train with axe weapons.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Deconstructed, as he's told the reason why the guild and temple has to charge people for healing spells, that being so the temple can remain independant of the government. Meaning he wasn't really doing what's "right" by splitting off from them and becoming a worker.

    Arche Eeb Rile Furt

Arche Eeb Rile Furt

Stand: Crazy Train

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arche.png

A spellcaster and member of Foresight. This is the second time her fate has been changed...

Her Stand, Crazy Train (named after an Ozzy Osbourne song), is the final extension of Ticket to Ride. Crazy Train can summon a phantom dragon, capable of launching fireballs and breathing streams of fire.

  • Aura Vision: She possesses a talent that lets her see both magical affinity and Stand potential.
  • Fusion Dance: Her Stand is the final car extension for Ticket to Ride. When all four Stands are linked, they provide incredible firepower.
  • Ghostly Animals: The Dragon that emerges from her Stand is described as being a phantom.
  • Impoverished Patrician: Since her parents were Idle Rich, they wound up falling out of favor when Emperor Jircniv started turning Baharuth into a meritocracy, losing all the wealth they'd come to rely on since they had no skills to fall back on.
  • Irony: As Momonga notes, her parents are foolish for clinging to a life of luxury they can no longer afford, yet consider her foolish for wanting to actually work to pay off their debts.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: The light novel and anime changed her fate from the original web series, where she proved popular enough to live. Here she gets to live all over again (as do her sisters, thanks to being given enough gold to move them away from her horrible parents).

    Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra

Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra

Stand: Call of Justice

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lakyus.png

The leader of Blue Roses.

Her Stand, Call of Justice, is named after a song by Ken the 390, and appears as nine different weapons that Lakyus can summon at any time and can move according to her will.

  • All There in the Manual: There are nine rap artists who performed the song Lakyus' Stand is named after, and naming them all would make the description too cumbersome. You'll have to click the link to learn their names.
  • Beta Couple: She quickly winds up falling for Gyro.
  • Expy: The types of weapons she uses for her Stand isn't a coincidence, having been taken from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.
  • Flying Weapon: How her Stand manifests.
  • Supermodel Strut: Does this for Gyro after making him promise to come back from his attack on Eight Finger's drug trade alive.

    Gagaran

Gagaran

Stand: Indestructible

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gag.png

The warrior of Blue Roses.

Her Stand, Indestructible (named after a Disturbed song), produces an indestructible barrier around Gagaran that is impossible to break through, protecting her from any harm that comes her way.

  • Brawn Hilda: Definitely the biggest and strongest of George's team.
  • Carry a Big Stick: Her primary weapon in battle is a giant warhammer.
  • Loophole Abuse: Due to the enchanted nature of her gear, it can physically interact with Stands. It can't actually damage them, but she can use her hammer to knock them and their user off-balance.
  • No-Sell: Her Stand makes her immune to literally anything, with the only downside being she can't attack or move from where she is while it's active.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon she was briefly killed by Demiurge then resurrected by Lakyus. Here Demiurge doesn't even bother attacking, so Gagaran doesn't lose any levels.
  • Stone Wall: What her Stand makes her while it's active. She can't attack or move, but her defense becomes impenetrable.

    Evileye

Evileye

Stand: Walking On Sunshine

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/evil_11.png

The mage of Blue Roses.

Her Stand, Walking On Sunshine (named after a Katrina and the Waves song), renders her immune to solar energy.

  • Adaptational Name Change: Done in-universe with the stone mask vampire's ability to shoot high pressure liquid from their eyes. When Evileye hears how Straizo called it the "Space Ripper Stingy Eyes", she thought the name was dumb and renamed it the "Blood Stare".
  • Breaking Old Trends: She's a stone mask vampire, but unlike all the others we've seen she is definitely on the side of good.
  • Not Completely Useless: Her Stand only makes her immune to ultraviolet radiation. When she was a human, the most that was good for was insuring dermatological health. As a vampire, however, it allows her to be a Daywalking Vampire.

    Tia & Tina

Tia & Tina

Stand: Two Become One (Tina)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tt_9.jpg

Twin ninja sisters and members of Blue Roses.

Tina's Stand, Two Become One (named after the song "2 Become 1" by Spice Girls), lets her fuse with her twin sister to create Tiana, who possesses the combined strengths of the two sisters, capable of using any skills that either one possesses.

  • I Got Bigger: Their combined form, Tiana, is described as looking like a taller version of the sisters.
  • Logical Weakness: Tina's Stand can only work if Tia is nearby. If they're separated, her Stand is useless.
  • Loophole Abuse: Tiana is a living being, but she's also made from Stand energy. As such, she can damage Stands without issue.
  • Shout-Out: The concept behind how Tina's Stand works is one to the main conflicts of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly.
  • Super-Empowering: Tina is the actual Stand user among the sisters, but because of how her Stand works, Tia gets to benefit from its power as well.

    Shasryu Shasha

Shasryu Shasha

Stand: St. Elmo's Fire

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shasuryu_shasha.png

The lizardman chieftain of the Green Claw tribe.

His Stand, St. Elmo's Fire (named after the song "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" by John Parr), appears as two buckler shields made of pure fire, capable of being used for both strong offense and defense.

  • Deadly Disc: He can throw his Stand with incredible accuracy, burning anything nearby.
  • Foreshadowing: Warrior Takemikazuchi noted that Shasryu was a perfect candidate to awaken to a Stand, due to being a lizardman chieftain and having a brother who was already a Stand user. Sure enough, Shasryu awakens his Stand during the fight with Fraaz.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His Stand takes the form of buckler shields made of fire.
  • Meaningful Name: John Parr's song, "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)", is an inspirational song about an athlete traveling the world in a wheelchair to raise awareness for spinal cord injuries. Fittingly, Shasryu's Stand can actually expand to become large enough to act as wheels that can increase his mobility.
  • Sibling Team: He often fights alongside his brother Zaryusu, since their Stands complement each other perfectly.

    Zaryusu Shasha

Zaryusu Shasha

Stand: Cold Wind Blows

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sashu.png

Shasryu's younger brother. A traveler tasked with bringing in outside knowledge to better lizardman society.

His Stand, Cold Wind Blows (named after an Eminem song), is based around ice, capable of generating a frost that can cover a wide area, as well as freeze anything it hits in a near instant.

  • Ambadassador: As a traveler, he's considered outside the jurisdiction of the lizardman tribes, and is thus considered the best choice for ambassador by the Green Claw. And of course, as a Stand user and lizardman warrior, he's a formidable champion.
  • Breaking Old Trends: He's the first true member of a Joestar team that isn't human (Wamuu doesn't count since he was an 11th-Hour Ranger).
  • Cool Sword: The form his Stand takes. Literally.
  • Official Couple: Just like canon, he and Crusch Lulu became mates.
  • Sibling Team: He and his older brother, Shasryu, often fight as a pair, with their Stands easily complimenting each other.
  • This Is Something He's Got to Do Himself: When Zenburu, the chieftain of the Dragon Tusk tribe, suggests a contest of strength to see if an alliance is viable, Takemikazuchi suggests Zaryusu accept the challenge. Justified in that the crisis is considered a matter for the lizardmen, and Zaryusu winning would be more meaningful to the Dragon Tusk.

    Tolkien Zetsumei

Tolkien Zetsumei

Stand: Bass Renaissance

A former member of the Unity Faction tasked with guarding the Snow Temple, she soon defects after the Joestar Faction kills the evil high elf Fraaz.

Her Stand, Bass Renaissance (named after the song "A Bass Renaissance" by KPM Music), can fire sound waves that render targets helpless, or even outright kill through prolonged exposure.

  • Anachronism Stew: A truly ridiculous example, since her Stand is just a Stand version of a dubstep gun.
  • Commonality Connection: She finds a kindred spirit in Holly Kujo, since both are mothers.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: In true JoJo fashion, she soon joins the Joestar Faction after her defeat.
  • Didn't See That Coming: She thought she scored an early kill on Bukubukuchagama, but it turned out the woman's Stand was designed to break apart.
  • Foreshadowing: Her daughter Zesshi is believed to not possess a Stand, yet Tolkien does. It turns out Zesshi does have a Stand, as per the normal rules regarding them. It's just not one that adds to her already impressive power.
  • Mama Bear: She really only sided with the Unity Faction to get close enough to kill Fraaz, the man who forcibly fathered her daughter Zesshi.
  • Meaningful Name: "A Bass Renaissance" is the most well-known song used for Saints Row IV's dubstep gun.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: She's named after J. R. R. Tolkien.

    Zesshi Zetsumei

Zesshi Zetsumei

Stand: Black or White

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zesshi_zetsumei.png

A half-elf and the strongest member of the Black Scripture.

Her Stand, Black or White (named after a Michael Jackson song), can make people recognize and focus on Zesshi's talents and abilities instead of her race.

  • Everyone Knew Already: Subverted in regards to her being a secret Stand user. While most of the Theocracy was in the dark, the pontiffs were able to figure it out due to being able to read souls, but let it be since it allowed them to have a potent champion on their side.
  • Meaningful Name: "Black or White" is a song about the importance of accepting people regardless of their skin color. Black or White as a Stand causes those who are affected by it to see Zesshi for her merits and not for her status as a half-elf, a power necessary since she lives in the largely humanist Slane Theocracy.
  • Sinister Scythe: Her weapon of choice.
  • World's Strongest Man: Or woman in this case, but Zesshi is the strongest of the Black Scripture, a guild meant purely for combat.
