    Sam Denby
Sam Denby is the creator of Jet Lag: The Game, as well as the narrator and owner of Wendover Productions and Half as Interesting.

  • Complexity Addiction: By his own admission, he tended to go for incredibly convoluted and high-risk plans in the first few seasons, which led to him losing partly due to it (getting stranded in Singapore with Joseph after a high-risk gambling play fizzles and going away from his destination on his first turn in Tag EUR It). Somewhat subverted starting in Season 5, where he starts going for the more reliable plays with positive results.
  • Cunning Linguist: He is fluent in French, which comes in handy for himself/his partner in the two Tag EUR It seasons, depending on whether he is the runner or one of the chasers.
  • Do Not Run with a Gun: Averted. Sam runs with his nerf gun in Season 5 to shoot Adam while he and Ben were biking to complete the Auckland Challenge.
  • Doppelgänger: Sam looks a lot like Norwegian football player Erling Haaland. He acknowledges this, and wore a Haaland shirt on Day 4 of Season 5.
  • Nerves of Steel: Beyond remaining calm and not getting too visibly upset even when his plans get derailed by his opponents, when Ben and Adam went bungee jumping in season two, they both were terrified and were screaming on the way down. By contrast, when Sam did the same thing with an even higher jump in season 5, he was completely silent.
  • No Hugging, No Kissing: Sam has not discussed his love life at any point on the show or podcast. By contrast, Adam has a girlfriend who made a cameo in Arctic Escape E4, and Ben has said on the podcast that he has a girlfriend. Also, in Crime Spree, Sam goes out of his way to avoid using the word "dildo", to the point where there's an on-screen tracker for that.
  • Sore Loser: After losing the first Battle Challenge for Maryland in Season 4 by virtue of Ben and Adam being further away from California than him and Brian, Sam angrily rages at losing Maryland.

    Ben Doyle
Ben Doyle is one of the three hosts of Jet Lag: The Game, as well as being a writer for Half as Interesting.

  • The Alcoholic: One of the most common running gags of the series is Ben getting drunk, him having done so in all but one season, which was Tag EUR It.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Ben is the funniest and the silliest of the three, but his unpredictability helped him to win Tag EUR It 2 and hide for over 9 hours (double Adam's time) in Switzerland.
  • Big Eater: In Switzerland, he ate an entire family-sized course of fondue by himself.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: In The Layover for S5 E2, Ben describes that at age 15, he started dating his childhood best friend right after another girl at summer camp was interested in him. This was when he started driver's education, and so he kept having panic attacks while driving and didn't complete driver's ed, and only learned to drive several years later. This is why he never drives in Jet Lag.note
  • Mistaken Nationality: Normally, everyone knows that he's American. But in Switzerland, for an unknown reason, everyone thinks he's French.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Non-deadly version. In Season 6, Ben completes a challenge at Shimbashi, and despite knowing that Sam is coming to catch him, he does not look at the tracker afterwards. He wounds up walking directly towards Shimbashi Station and gets caught by Sam almost immediately.
    • In the very next episode, Ben's opening move was to go back to Shimbashi to complete challenges, resulting in him getting caught by Scotty while he was attempting to leave the area from the nearby Onarimon Station.

    Adam Chase
Adam Chase is one of the three hosts of Jet Lag: The Game.

  • Determinator: In Tag EUR It, he tags Sam on a train, but then doesn't get off in time, and gets moved further from his location. Despite this, he continues onward, and just barely makes it over the line to win the season.
  • Epic Fail: In Season 3, Adam puts on a disguise in an attempt to be not caught by Sam and Ben in Paris. He forgets to put his wig on when he disembarks at Massy Palaiseau station, resulting in him getting caught. He does it again in Tag 2 in Emden with the same outcome, but this time the fail is less epic, because rather than forgetting to wear it, he happens to be the only person that is in the area Sam and Ben's GPS is pointing to.
  • Ironic Name: In season 7, he becomes the target of a Chase Scene after he is recognised as being in disguise by Ben, in spite of his surname.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname becomes this in seasons 3 and 7 while he's a chaser, as his objective is to chase after and catch the hider.
  • Obsessed with Food: In The Layover episode "The Mailbag", where they answer viewer questions, one of which was about what they would want to do if they could play Jet Lag without having to film and upload it: Adam's response was to place all of the highest-rated restaurants in a region on a map, and the players would have to eat at them to earn points.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Adam swears the most in the show, including swearing over a dozen times while doing the Okaihau Express challenge.

    JT

JT is a lawyer who appeared in Season 0 (Crime Spree) of Jet Lag: The Game, later appearing as a cameo in Season 4.

    Brian Mc Manus
Brian McManus is the owner of the YouTube channel Real Engineering, and has appeared in Jet Lag: The Game in Season 1 and Season 4.

    Joseph Pisenti
Joseph Pisenti is the owner of the YouTube channel Real Life Lore, and has appeared in Jet Lag: The Game in Season 2.

    Toby Hendy
Toby Hendy is the owner of the YouTube channel Tibees, and has appeared in Jet Lag: The Game in Season 5, and will appear in Season 10.

  • Distinctive Appearances: Toby is remarked for her ultra-long hair.
  • Hulk Speak: During the Wellington challenge, which required public speaking, Toby was subject to a curse that meant she couldn't use the letter "e" at all. She still made it work:
Toby: Kia ora, I'm Toby, running for top job. If I win that job, I'll construct many good buildings that you'll say "wow" about!
  • Improvisational Ingenuity: The above Wellington challenge had to be completed while wearing a tie, but Sam and Toby were under a time crunch to complete the task before Ben and Adam caught up to them and shot them. Their solution? Simply knit a tie from scratch on the drive there.

    Scotty Allen
Scotty Allen is the owner of the YouTube channel Strange Parts, and has appeared in Jet Lag: The Game in Season 6.

  • Silly Walk: Scotty got hit hard with this on the third day of the game, being the victim of towers forcing him to only walk by shuffling sideways (twice) and another tower (with Sam) that forced the team to only walk the number of steps determined by a roll of the dice. It didn't stop him from tagging Ben and Adam all three times.

    Michelle Khare
Michelle Khare is the guest in Season 8.
  • Determinator: Possibly the only guest so far to have matched Sam in intensity, she regularly pushes through any obstacle before her.
  • The Talk: Gives one to a bird at a Petco after getting drunk.
