    Guild TEMPUS as a whole

The members (Left to right:Josuiji Shinri, Banzoin Hakka, Noir Vesper, Magni Dezmond, Regis Altare, Axel Syrios, Machina X Flayon, Gavis Bettel)

Group logo
"Progress based on luck and happenstance is not the answer."

  • Adventure Guild: Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS doubles as a downtown pub and the headquarters of adventurers.
  • American Kirby Is Hardcore: Like their female branch, their lore summary is very detailed and describes combating otherworthly threats. They are also close to the EN branch setting-wise, courtesy of Omegaα being involved in their manga prologue.
  • April Fools' Plot:
    • Both TEMPUS gens engaged in an April Fools joke for 2023. Vanguard swapped models (Bettel with Shinri, and Flayon with Hakka). TEMPUS HQ debuted the TEMPUS ANIMALIA gen with models drawn by Magni Dezmond. Axel also released an MV for "YATTA" which was credited as being covered by TEMPANTSU.
    • In 2024, Altare gets into Minecraft to prank his branchmates in the server. Pranks include:
      • Pitfall trap, along with a roof full of chickens, in Hakka's house.
      • A "scavenger hunt" for Shinri that leads to a trapped chest.
      • A redstone door contraption beneath the Criminal's Cut for Ruze.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Deliberately invoked by Magni, who drew genderbent artworks of both the original quartet as well as the second wave members. Fanartists tend to run with his interpretations of what the boys would look like when Gender Swapped as well, further amplifying this effect.
  • The Backwards Я: The "E" in TEMPUS is flipped horizontally in the group's official logo (seen right).
  • Cerebus Syndrome: As of June 2023, both solo acts for the guild's lore are significantly darker than any other non-MV narrative told in Hololive, with Flayon's arc revealing him to have stolen all of his credentials through supernatural means to cover for his own insecurities and Magni's arc revealing that he and the Magmites are stuck in a neverending cycle of abuse as they keep killing and reviving each other to fruitlessly bring back a relationship from their templates.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Each member has a specific color scheme, which is shown more clearly with Magni's Gratuitous Laboratory Flasks and Vesper's bookstack props; Cyan for Altare, purple for Magni, orange for Axel, and gold for Vesper. Vanguard also has specific colors associated with them: Bettel has magenta, Flayon has red, Hakka has indigo and Shinri has brown-orange.
  • Foil:
    • Vesper and Magni are spiritual opposites of each other. Vesper is a part of the older generation and is missing out on a lot of modern topics, prefers talking over gaming, is more methodical and largely tries to keep things tame. Magni is more radical, versed in latest social media trends, can easily improvise new ideas, and frequently slips in violent or sexual remarks.
    • Magni and Axel have a contrasting dynamic, if not Friendly Rivalry at times. Magni self-admittedly is very intelligent but not very wise, often acting smug before making a lot of spectacular mistakes in gameplay, and is most morally questionable out of the TEMPUS. Axel is considered to be not very smart but instead having a lot of wisdom, prefers to rely more on fists than on wits, is a quick learner and generally good-hearted.
  • Get-Rich-Quick Scheme: TEMPUS IS BROKE features everyone pitching their ideas to get some guild funds fast.
  • Insistent Terminology: Vanguard are not Gen 2 of TEMPUS, and there is no senpai-kōhai dynamic between HQ and Vanguard; they're officially all in the same gen.
  • Meaningful Name: According to Magni, "Tempus" refers to "the changing of times".
  • Name Order Confusion: Altare, Magni, and Flayon are inconsistently referred to by either first name or last name depending on the crowd.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Altare treats Bettel and Flayon as having always being members of the Guild that he had sent on an expedition to Xenokuninote .
  • The Rival: To ARMIS, who is a rival bounty hunting squad that directly opposes TEMPUS.
  • Role-Playing Game 'Verse: HQ's theming is that of a 4-man RPG party, complete with the leader being of the Hero class. Each of them also have a guild card that shows off their statlines of HP, MP, STR, DEX, INT, and LUK.
  • Scenery Porn: The official artworks of Utopia "Elysium" and Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS are extremely detailed. Their trailers also feature fully animated 3D backgrounds.
  • Shipper on Deck: Played for laughs. Dezmond, Altare, and Vesper are these for Axel after the latter revealed his admiration for Harusaki Nodoka, with them frequently switching back and forth between teasing him and gassing him up when the two of them interact in any way.
  • Similar Squad: TEMPUS HQ and Vanguard have some obvious pairings between the two generations. These specific matchups end up getting used in the "Training arc" animation.
    • Altare and Flayon, with it being pointed out that both of them look strikingly similar, having nearly-identical hairstyles and flipped color schemes (Altare is white and blue, while Flayon is black and red). Both of them are also the shortest members of their gens, have similar fanbase mascots, and have shields as part of their default accessories.
    • Magni and Bettel, both being unhinged, fair-haired comedians/memelords with purple as their primary color. The two of them had an offcollab week which was dubbed "THE GREATEST SHOWMAN WEEK". Both are also lacking in physical stats, having minimal HP, STR, and DEX but maxed out LUK.
    • Axel and Hakka. Both are the main singers of their generations, both are Cunning Linguists who speak more than one language, both are native to a region far away from the other boys (Hakka is from Xenokuni, while Axel is from North Elysium), and both of them have a strong Animal Motif (birds for Hakka and dogs/dingos for Axel).
    • Vesper and Shinri. Both end up being the Team Dad of each of their respective gens, having a sense of maturity and wisdom that the other boys look up to. Both also have among the deepest voices in their generations, especially when they sing, and are both associated with a shade of yellow (Shinri's is a mustard-like shade, while Vesper's is more of a greyish-gold).
  • Shout-Out: The "Training arc" animation is an affectionate parody of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, with the same artstyle and over the top hamminess of the characters.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: The guild as a whole has been made into the personal plaything of one Kobo Kanaeru, in a similar vein to Towa's dynamic with holoX. No matter what any member tries, her bratty nature has bested them at every turn, and one-by-one she gives them a ludicrous new nickname before making them play Valorant with her.
  • Sixth Ranger: Kobo Kanaeru from Hololive ID is pretty much an official member of TEMPUS, with her collabing or interacting with every one of the boys, where she assigns nicknames to all of them. Many have speculated she is a demon lord that TEMPUS brought home with them and is the real leader of the guild.
  • Stellar Theme Naming:
    • Their names allude to the names of stars. Altare is Altair, Vesper is Vega, Dezmond is Deneb and Axel's Syrios is Sirius. With the appearance of the new members, Bettel is Betelgeuse, and Flayon is Procyon.
    • How do these names fit in? Altair means "Flying Eagle" in arabic origin. It is the brightest and alpha star of the Aquila constellation - whose latin name also means "Eagle". Deneb and Vega form two vertices with Altair, forming the asterism of the Summer Triangle. Sirius, Betelgeuse and Procyon form the next asterism known as Winter Triangle. However, it should be noted that Axel is an unusual case as he debuted with the three boys in Summer.
    • In another example of hidden wordplay brilliance, Flayon's mech, R-TRUS hides another star's name - Arcturus.
    • The selected star names are no coincidence. All of the aforementioned stars - Altair, Deneb, Vega, Sirius, Betelgeuse, Procyon and Arcturus are all First-magnitude stars.
    • TEMPUS Headquarters debuted in July, and the Vanguard in January. Guess what season that is regardless of whether you're in the core regions of US or JP - you guessed it, it was Summer, and then Winter.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: None of them will hesitate to rag on each other if given the opportunity, but they really do get along with each other. They take it as good-natured ribbing.

    Regis Altare

Regis Altare [JP: リージス・アルテア]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tachie_regis_2.png
"The masses chose not to act. So I'll take a stand in their stead."

"The founder of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. The first-ever adventurer to set foot in Elysium, he dislikes stagnation and the status quo. He is childish at heart and generally bungles everything he touches, and yet he is inexplicably popular among his peers. His earnest straightforwardness may well lead to him being called a "hero" one day."

Debut date: July 23rd, 2022
Birthday: January 29th
Age: 21 (at debut)
Height: 179 cm
Languages Spoken: English, Korean (basic conversational), Japanese (learning)
Fanbase Name: Cultare (collectively), Altventurers (individually)
Illustrator: Chinatsu Kurahana
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Hero, Guild Leader
Aliases: Leader (by viewers), Ragus (by Kobo)

Associated characters: Snailtare

  • all lowercase letters: Much of what Altare writes is in lowercase, including his YouTube description and his text written in various interviews.
  • Animal Motifs: Snails. Snailtare is Altare in snail-form, which started off as a meme, but eventually evolved into his own character with an animated model. Altare would also choose the Slime to be his mascot/fan representation.
  • Badass Longcoat: With his glows enabled, his white jacket gets upgraded to this with the blue coattails that stretch out from underneath.
  • Bayonet Ya: The sword part of his gun saber extends far past the barrel to form a Hard Light blade.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Don't let his soft-spoken nature and cheery demeanour fool you; he's quite the savage snarker, and he casually roasts his genmates whenever the opportunity arises.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Played with. The trope is definitely invoked as part of Altare's thematic design, with blue hair and Hard Light standing out to establish his status as The Hero. However, Altare himself has a sadistic tendency beneath his soft voice, and often declares himself as "Demon God King" for laughs.
  • Companion Cube: During his Military Meals Ready to Eat streams, the instructions to heat up up the food recommends setting the chemical heating pouch up against a "Rock, or something". Altare does this against a brick he somehow had on hand, which was later lovingly nicknamed Dwayne-chan.
  • Devil in Disguise: Altare likes to imply that he's actually a former Demon Lord who's taken on the role of a hero out of boredom. He often refers to himself by the moniker of "Demon God King".
  • Elegant Classical Musician: Altare is capable of playing the cello. When asked to play the cello in one of his streams, he plays a short snippet of Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G major.
  • Evil Laugh: Likes to throw the standard villainous "Mu-hahaha-hah!" every now and then.
  • First-Name Basis: He's referred to by his genmates and senpai (except Kobo, who tends to call him "Ragus", "Regus" or "Asparagus") as Altare (which is his first name, as confirmed in a Minecraft stream). He observes that people who called him "Regis" are those who are not familiar with him while those who called him "Altare" are the people who know him very well.
  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: Enforced; he appears to have a friend who was Ret-Gone somehow, disappearing from a photo on his nightstand. Trying to recall them is extremely painful, and saying their name comes out as gibberish.
  • The Gunslinger: Per his lore. His weapon of choice is a Gun Blade.
  • Hard Light: The glowing sigils over his clothes is something he triggers for defense, as well as the saber part of his gun saber.
  • Height Angst: Being the shortest in his group, (though taller than most of the Japanese members), he asks the chat to not call him short. Which is what happens immediately with his chat and guildmates.
  • The Hero: Based on this archetype, to the point that his title in TEMPUS' debut PV is in fact "Hero".
  • I Know Karate: He holds a 4th-degree black belt in taekwondo and a 2nd-degree black belt in kumdo. He demonstrates his martial arts during his 3D debut and uses it to defeat the goblins who invaded his domain.
  • Idiot Hero: Described in lore as a childish bumbler, but nonetheless inexplicably popular.
  • Irony: He loves milk, but was later given the "debuff" of lactose intolerance, hence the stuff being listed both in his Likes and Dislikes.
  • The Klutz: Is noted to be clumsy in his profile.
  • The Leader: The founder and leader of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. He's said to be the first adventurer to ever arrive in the world of Elysium. In group gaming streams, he definitely shows much of his leadership skills, guiding and supporting his guildmates whenever they're in a tight spot. He also usually acts the emotional support to his guildmates whenever they feel down.
  • Like Brother and Sister: His dynamic with Kobo, starting right after his debut. She affectionately calls him 'Ragus', and they collab with one another fairly regularly, including a few off-collabs in Japan.
  • Mix-and-Match Weapon: Wields a gun saber with a detachable blade.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Has this dynamic with Kobo, his fellow blue-and-white colored holomem. Their collabs and twitter interactions tend to involve a lot of bickering, insulting, and bullying each other much like brothers and sisters do.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: As mentioned a lot elsewhere, Altare has some shockingly sadistic and cruel tendencies but at the same time he never really raises his voice beyond its soft and low inflection. Always sounding like a kind librarian in his whispery tone you would never suspect the demon below.
  • Vocal Dissonance: At first glance, he looks like a Stock Shōnen Hero, so his soft, airy voice usually comes as a surprise.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: In his interview with Vesper, despite being the leader, he believes he's not as talented as his genmates. But Vesper says otherwise and his chat agrees with him as they reassure to him that he's actually talented and a great leader.
  • Young and in Charge: Despite being one of the youngest members of Guild TEMPUS, and the youngest of the initial four members, he's the leader of the guild.

    Axel Syrios

Axel Syrios [JP: アクセル・シリオス]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/742db52f_ca0c_4364_9f46_c9df7ed70e1a.jpeg
"Doctors resolve the root cause of a problem, right? Well, I destroy it. So I am a doctor."

"The chief of human resources in Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. He is the owner of the combat arena, and a gladiator himself. He joined TEMPUS on a whim, only to take a real liking to it. Has always swiftly resolved any problems he has faced by sheer instinct, and thus considers himself somewhat of a doctor."

Debut date: July 24th, 2022
Birthday: November 1st
Age: 24 (at debut)
Height: 187 cm
Languages Spoken: English (native), Japanese (fluent)
Fanbase Name: Axelotls
Illustrator: Ginka
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Gladiator, Human Resources
Aliases: Aniki (by viewers), Brian (by Kobo and Hololive ID)
Associated characters: Axelotls

——
  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • His fans tend to call him "Aniki" (an affectionate way of saying "older brother" in Japanese).
    • Kobo refers to him as "Brian". Despite the identically named character from Family Guy, Kobo states her picking that name was coincidence and did not take inspiration from the show.
  • Animal Motifs: Dogs. His design features several tails, as well as optional dog-like ears and a muzzle like mask. His lore paints him as a Blood Knight who rears for competition, much like a dog trying to assert itself, while onstream he's boisterous, excitable, and very friendly.
  • Baby Of The Bunch: He's confirmed to be at least a few years younger than all of the other Tempus members, all of whom treat him like a younger brother.
  • The Big Guy: Takes pride in being the strongest gladiator, who prioritizes STR over INT, while being treated by the others as the Dumb Muscle of the group. The pre-debut manga even introduces him as a "meathead".
  • Black-and-White Morality: According to Vesper in a chatting stream, Axel's mindset is something like this, though not to any extremes. To him, you're either a friend or a threat, and he rarely considers anything in between.
  • Blood Knight: As the resident Gladiator, he lives for battle and challenging himself.
    • In a manga story posted on his Twitter, his first reaction to Dezmond and Altare asking him to join their guild is to throw his throne at them and challenge them to a fight. In Vesper's segment of the manga, he violently interrupts the duel between Altare and Vesper out of boredom from their fight before calming down and saying they should stop and get some food instead.
    • This can also be seen in his Back 4 Blood collab with Altare, Zeta and Risu, where he usually focuses on engaging the zombies in melee even if he's at low health.
  • Booze-Based Buff: During his 3D debut stream, he pulls out a mug of beer from a gacha chest. Consuming it gave him the power to defeat three concert-crashing Gorimanes.
  • Bouncer: His "Personnel Management" guild role basically amounts to throwing out people without guild cards.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: While Vesper critiques Axel's intelligence, he points out that he is actually much smarter than what he gives him credit for, considering that he knows how to speak in two languages. He just has hard time focusing on stuff like reading.
  • Butt-Monkey: In addition to Calli calling him a furry, his genmates like naming animals (especially canines) in games after him or, in Magni's case, referring to him as a test subject.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Let's go f*** some guys!" And no, he doesn't mean it in that way.
  • Chain Pain: Wears a long chain like a whip. His 3D showcase finally has him brandishing it combat to lash his opponents.
  • Chained by Fashion: His outfit has several chains, and he carries one in his hand. His logo also has a chain motif.
  • The Chew Toy: Axel is on the receiving end of a lot of crude jokes from both his genmates (especially Magni) and girls from other branches like EN (Calli and Bae) or ID (Zeta, Kobo, and Ollie). For one he has been branded a dog and a furry, which he is not pleased about.
  • Cool Mask: A black-and-red face mask that somewhat resembles a mouth with pointy teeth. Much like Chloe's, his Live2D teaser reveals that it is removable.
  • Don't Think, Feel: Per his lore, he primarily acts impulsively and on instinct, with even his choice to join TEMPUS being based on this. Since this has worked for him so far, he considers himself a problem-solving "doctor".
  • Fanboy: Of Harusaki Nodoka. According to Vesper, Axel cannot stop going on about how cool she is.
  • Gladiator Games: He's a gladiator and owner of the local Thunderdome.
  • Hates Reading: Vesper notes that while Axel is a quick learner, he really dislikes books.
  • Hitman with a Heart: He lists off assassin and hitman as his occupations, but he’s otherwise an all round friendly and chill guy.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: Claims that he's "fucking seiso".
  • Informed Attribute: Despite having rock-bottom INT and LUK stats on his guild card, his on-stream performance is far better than his stats would imply, making smart plays and having bouts of extreme good luck. Fans chalk this up to his instincts making up for his deficiencies.
  • Insistent Terminology: Really doesn't want to be called a furry, despite having extra ears and being a Multiple-Tailed Beast.
Axel: I'm not a furry, OK? I'm fucking seiso.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Ironically, despite his canine motifs, Axel is actually a cat lover. He himself has a pet cat and is highly in favor of "cat supremacy".
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: Everyone in the guild, himself included, thinks he's poor on smarts, but makes up for it with passionate warm attitude and life experiences.
  • Land Down Under: Has a thick Australian accent and uses plenty of Aussie slang. Canonically the area Axel is from is called "Northern Elysium", which is said to have a slightly different culture from the other regions.
  • Likes Older Women: He has a thing for "nee-chan" types, based on his Twitter posts and the comments he made on-stream, and he's not shy about his preferences, either.
  • Literal-Minded: He was originally Tempus' treasurer, but stepped down from the position after he realised that a treasurer was someone who managed finances, not (as he thought) an actual treasure hunter.
  • Mad Libs Catch Phrase: His self-introduction usually has an extra title tacked on depending on the stream like death game survivor, Apex player, or tensainote .
  • Not That Kind of Doctor: He claims himself to be sort of a doctor, but this is because he resolves problems swiftly with pure instinct.
Axel: Doctors resolve the root cause of a problem, right? Well, I destroy it. So I am a doctor.
  • No True Scotsman: Played for laughs. Baelz considers him a fake Northern Elysian for "shitting on Vegemite".
  • Scary Teeth: His mask gives the impression of a large maw, though his actual teeth are still pretty sharp and pointed.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Simple-Minded Wisdom: By his own admission, Axel isn't much for studying or thinking, but the rest of TEMPUS see the value in his words and let him have the floor during Q&As that ask for advice. Vesper compares him to a single-core processor that's extremely well-performing, but can't be bothered to work on any other task like a multi-core processor would.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: In his normal speaking voice, he has a strong Australian accent and tends to swear a lot. But his singing voice shows the complete opposite of his personality and he can even sing songs that have a high pitch such as his cover of Kanaria's "QUEEN".
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: With Vestia Zeta. Both insist they are humans but are constantly compared with a dog and a cat, which has led the two of them to develop a feud. Virtually all of their interactions (be that onstream or on Twitter) have the two sniping and taking jabs at each other, roasting each other's actions or further piling on the cat and dog insults.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Gives a heads-up in his debut that to him swearing "is like love language", which he does twice during his debut stream. Being from the Land Down Under, he was initially the only talent to have dropped the occasional Country Matters; Flayon and Bettel have since joined him in this regard. Not even official media (like the 12 Days of Christmas cover) are spared from his potty mouth.
Axel: On the 7th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...Seven fu-(long bleep)
    Altare: AXEL!
  • Strength Equals Worthiness: In the pre-debut Tempus manga, he challenges Altare and Magni to a fight before he joins their group.
  • The Troublemaker: He's known for his "dick and balls" humor, which serves as a headache for Altare and their managers. Most of his VODs usually ended up private or edited because of this.
  • Undying Loyalty: To YAGOO, whom Axel claimed uplifted him when he was at a low point in his life. Axel even likens their relationship to that of Levi Ackerman and Erwin Smith.
  • The Unfavorite: To Calliope, Tempus HQ's "dad" who often singles him out for abuse during their interactions. Once when her chat asked which of her sons she would punch, she didn't hesitate to name Axel.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Magni Dezmond. The two of them always dunk on each other. Whenever one of them plays a game involving character creation, expect them to create the other boy for another chance at bullying.

Tempus Vanguard

    Gavis Bettel

Gavis Bettel (JP: ガビス・ベッテル)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flrvw5paeaah0hr.jpg
"That joke's funnier than me, the jester! Wait, what do you mean, it's real?"

"The jester of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. Visited Xenokuni in the past to learn its traditional performing arts, and used that experience to draw up and lead the expedition into the land eventually. Currently performs in the combat arena, but is planning to take his talents global someday. His diverse clientele has given him an undeniably keen eye for aesthetics, and he can sometimes be a wise guy who goes straight for the jugular."

Debut date: January 8th, 2023
Birthday: May 17th
Age: 27 (at debut)
Height: 176 cm
Languages Spoken: English (native)
Fanbase Name: Bettelion (collectively), Bettelheads (individually)
Illustrator: Makoto Senzaki
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Jester, Guild Secretary
Alias: Betsy, Bingus, Gabus (by Kobo)
Associated characters: Phantom, Bettel 2

  • 24-Hour Armor: "THE BEACH EPISODE" areveals he never takes off his Jester outfit, even when it's boiling hot and he's sweating buckets. Unsurprisingly, he winds up passing out from heatstroke.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Is sometimes called "Betsy" by the other TEMPUS boys. This stretches over to some of the JP holostars boys.
  • Animal Motifs:
    • Geese. During his first conversation with Kobo, where he was forced by her to do animal noises, Bettel managed to pull off a very convincing goose sound. Since then he has embraced the goose motif, dubbing himself "Bettel-goose" and often using fanart depicting him as a goose in thumbnails or discord calls.
    • Bettel was initially associated with bees due to a Running Gag from an Ultimate Chicken Horse collab stream with the rest of his genmates, though it's largely fallen to the wayside in favour of depicting him as a goose.
  • Bad Boss: During debut, he is not kind to his Beleaguered Assistant Jerry, who he yells at and forces to carry away a live bomb which ends up exploding and killing him.
  • Blow Gun: He forcibly recruited Hakka by tranqing him with a blow gun.
  • Butt-Monkey: He wouldn't be a jester without a penchant for being humiliated.
    • He goes through quite a bit of grief in just his debut alone. He gets mocked by his assistant Jerry, gets traumatised after finding a skull in his hat, and nearly gets blown up by a bomb. Even his "Please Stand By" screen depicts him on the receiving end of a round of Produce Pelting.
    • During the TEMPUS Animalia April Fools gen debuts, Vanguard did a watchalong of the debut streams. With three of the four new talents all mentioning Bettel and taking snipes at him.
  • Cartoon Bomb: A few cartoon bombs have blown up on Bettel, though he's thankfully fine. His ex-assistant Jerry was not so lucky, having been reduced to a pile of ash after Bettel made him carry away one of said bombs.
  • Chirping Crickets: When he cuts away to the Peanut Gallery, it's been long abandoned aside from human skeletons and crickets start chirping to emphasis the lack of audience.
  • Color Motif: Purple and deep pink. During his debut, Bettel also listed "Purple" as one of his Likes. Bettel even admitted that if he had his way, the sky would be purple.
  • Cool Mask: Has one that covers his left eye that he usually puts on when getting serious about something. His second outfit replaces it with a black masquerade mask.
  • Court Jester: He's the jester of TEMPUS, with his Youtube and Twitter profile calling himself the Full-time Fool.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: His guild card lists his HP, MP, STR, DEX, and INT to be very low, while his LUK stat is maxed out.
  • Curse Cut Short: During his debut, he's trying to pull his slides out of his top hat. When reaching for slide #3, he pulls out a skull.
    Bettel: WHAT THE F-
  • Dead Guy on Display: Played for Laughs.
    • In his monetization stream, he brings up how people have been asking about Jerry and whether or not he survived the bomb explosion. To answer those concerns once and for all, he introduces his special guest Jerry! Or rather, his skeleton which Bettel plops onto the table to assert that he is 100% dead.
    • In his membership opening stream, Jerry's skeleton is presented once more for the camera and immediately tossed aside to make room for Brian the stuffed horse and BettelGoose.
  • Deal with the Devil: His second outfit reveal stream reveals that he has one with Phantom (or whatever entity inside Phantom), where he supplies it with souls in exchange for his notorious Max Luck.
  • Dressed to Plunder: His second outfit has him in a pirate captain's getup, complete with feathery cape and tattered bicorner hat.
  • Embarrassing Slide: In his debut stream, he shows an enlarged folder named "Shinri's Abs" between the transition from his likes to dislikes and panics for a moment as he hides it.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: His design, including the eyes, is vertically split between pink and purple/blue colors.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The erratic foolish sibling to Bettel 2's stoic responsible sibling.
  • Implausible Deniability: He has a tendency to very awkwardly attempt to explain things away that make him look bad. However, because Bettel is a Bad Liar, it's easy to see through the act.
    • During his debut, Bettel insisted that finding a skull in his hat, his Peanut Gallery all being dead, and yelling at his assistant Jerry were All Part of the Show. The awkwardness with which Bettel tried to brush it off made it clear that he was just trying to make it up as he went.
    • One of Bettel's Dislikes, written in a small font, was "myself". When the live chat pointed this out, Bettel tried to deny it was there, despite the fact that the chat could very clearly see it.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: He loves flaunting his ego and gives the impression of being The Prima Donna, but written on his Dislikes list (in very small font) is himself.
  • Informed Attribute: Despite his bio claiming that his Luck Stat is astronomically high at the expense of everything else, Bettel has gone on to demonstrate that it's actually rather fickle. His tendency to fail epically at certain games happens so often that it's become a running gag that his primary attribute presumably goes both ways. With The Reveal that it was Phantom that granted him his luck, one could interpret it as Phantom being a Jackass Genie; after all, Bettel never specified that he wanted good luck...
  • Insistent Terminology: Bettel tends to refer to cars as "horses" or "horse-drawn carriages".
  • Laser-Guided Karma: His pride always comes back to bite him, either through his own mistakes or through spurring on a guildmate.
  • Like an Old Married Couple: Him and Hakka act like a couple in a marriage on life-support and teetering on divorce.
  • Large Ham: He's so bombastic and over-the-top in almost everything he does that it makes people like Korone and Polka look tame by comparison.
  • Made of Iron: Blew himself up multiple times on his first day, but is always alive and well by the next stream.
  • Mark of the Beast: His second outfit shows the skin on his hands and fingers having a dark, clawed appearance similar to that of Hakka's arm, implying that he too has been infected with the Records Corruption.
  • Never Bareheaded: When making himself in The Sims 4, he makes a point of his Sim-self wearing the top hat with every outfit, even the swimwear and sleepwear. He then explicitly states that always wearing the hat applies to himself too, outright declaring it to be new lore.
  • No Indoor Voice: Has a tendency to rave and yell like a madman when things go south. Which is often.
  • Noodle Incident: He has apparently choked on candy so many times in his life that he jokes about being able to make a tier list.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Bettel 2 is Bettel's real-life twin brother, but they are really different in personality. When both are on stream, there's plenty of banter to be had between them!
  • The Prima Donna: Played for Laughs. He's quickly incensed and gets to ranting when his show goes off-rails, such as when his stagehand Jerry screws up or when the audience uses flash photography with Phantom.
  • Produce Pelting: His "Be Right Back" screen is an illustration of tomatoes getting thrown at him. He apparently interprets the tomatoes as a gift during the end of his debut and gleefully encourages his audience to throw more.
  • Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat: One of his assets has him digging through his hat for objects like a stage magician. His debut has him pulling out a picture of YAGOO, his guild card, a human skull, and a live bomb.
  • Pungeon Master: Loves coming up with plays on his name, and wholeheartedly adopts suggestions like Vesper's #BettelCallLawl.
  • Rummage Fail: His intro waiting screen has him tossing the guild's belongings out of a giant hat with no end in sight.
  • Signing Off Catchphrase: "Bettel luck next time".
  • Signs of Disrepair: The neon sign for the Peanut Gallery has some letters burnt out with the remaining letters showing "Pant alley".
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Oh, is he ever. With easily the pottiest mouth of the entirety of hololive, Bettel will drop curse words at any and every opportunity he gets. Every one of his streams will feature a slew of swear words in some form or another; from Atomic F-Bombs to Cluster F-Bombs and even things pertaining to Country Matters, he's dropped them all. His propensity for swearing equals (or even surpasses) that of Axel, who says swearing is like "love language".
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: During the post-debut collab, he assures the others that the skeletons in the Peanut Gallery are just party props and definitely not people he forgot about when he locked the place up. That would be weird. And careless.
  • Sweet Tooth: Besides fast food and instant ramen, he pretty much lives off of sweets, listing "copious amounts of sugar" as the first of his several likes. He also mentions sometimes eating ice cream IN bed.
  • Trademark Favorite Drink: Brisk.
  • We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties: During his debut, he has to take a moment to go off camera to scream at an assistant named Jerry for making a goof up in the presentation. He has to pull up the Please Stand By screen a second time when trying to find Slide #3.
  • Whip Sword: His weapon is a rapier whip, though he doesn't go into much detail about it since all his combat stats are terrible.
  • Why Didn't I Think of That?: He's disappointed at whoever suggested that his fanbase should be called "Jesticles", not because it's inappropriate, but because he thinks it's hilarious and was sad that he didn't come up with it first. He would eventually end up using it for one of his membership tiers.

    Machina X Flayon

Machina X Flayon (JP: マキナ・X・フレオン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flrv2wxaaaey53a.jpg
"Man, talk about working someone to the bone..."

The pilot of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. A real prodigy who can instantly grasp the piloting mechanism of any form of transport. As a result of skipping many steps in his education, he is at times unable to maintain a conversation and can be misunderstood. He is frequently seen as haughty and arrogant, usually when he's muttering pointed remarks under his breath."

Debut date: January 8th, 2023
Birthday: June 5
Age: 18,432 years(?)note
Height: 166 cm
Languages Spoken: English (native)
Fanbase Name: Machiroons / Roons (shortened)
Illustrator: SHOKUEN
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Pilot, Navigator, Customer Support
Alias: Flay, Machi, Betty (by Kobo)

Associated characters: R-TRUS, C-TRUS

TEMPUS's Ace Pilot, whose natural gifts have left him incredibly talented and smart at the expense of his social skills and humility.

Flayon is also the protagonist of his own Hololive side project, the Visual Novel Prequel X.
  • Ace Pilot: The prodigy pilot of TEMPUS, who is able to fly any vehicle skillfully.
  • Affectionate Nickname: A few others refer to him as "Flay", which he supports. The JP senpais tend to call him "Machina/Machi-kun".
  • Animal Motif: Cats. He often moonlights as a Cat Boy with cat eyes and occasional cat ears, shows cat-like behavior of purring onstream, and his Machiroons have a very cat-like design. When he revealed his casual outfit, he sports knee-length socks with a cat-head shaped hem.
  • Anti-Hero: If he didn't work for the guild, his violent tendencies and the fact that he stole his talent from someone else for his own personal gain would make you hard-pressed to believe he's a good guy.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: He's effectively the "bratty younger brother" of Guild Tempus, despite being (probably) far, far older than his guildmates.
  • Berserk Button: Went on a brief but sudden tirade during his debut stream simply because Magni refused to call him by any shortened nickname.
  • Big Brother Worship: He fondly looks up to the Tempus HQ boys like older brothers.
  • Blood Knight: Absolutely relishes a fight, to the point of going Laughing Mad. One of his likes is even listed as "Crushing people :D".
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Downplayed. In his debut, he seemed like the most kusogaki of the boys, having a haughty and arrogant attitude. This mostly subsided afterwards, where he ended up veering into Nice Guy aside from the occasional pranking of the other boys. This side crops up again when he's with fellow kusogaki Kobo, where the two of them banter like children.
  • Cast from Stamina: R-TRUS runs off Flayon's own energy, hence the energy pack on him.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: One skit of his debut animation involves him taking cover behind his control panel from enemy fire while ordering food and being more concerned about the shake machine being broken again.
  • Child Prodigy: Mentioned to be as such in his bio and thus the source of many of his skills. This may be a lie, however, and not entirely a harmless one...
  • Chuunibyou: Downplayed. He acts haughty and bratty in his debut and collabs, but in his solo streams he tends to switch to being kind and considerate with his viewers.
  • Color Motif: Vermillion.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: One of his favorite voices to do is a high-pitched girly voice, usually used to troll/creep out other Holo members.
  • Cute Little Fang: He has four, though usually they are not easily noticeable, but become visible when he's laughing.
  • The Cutie: Due to his small stature and childish nature, he's been considered cute by many of his fellow talents, viewers, and even himself.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: The trailer for "X" reveals some details about his past: He grew up without any real skills to call his own, which combined with constantly being in the presence of a Child Prodigy made him equate talent and intelligence with love. After many failed attempts at impressing the people in his life, he snapped and made a wish to C-TRUS that gave him the means to steal the prodigy's life and talents for himself, which he followed through with on the latter's birthday.
  • Death Is Cheap: Exaggerated: the guy's died over 18,000 times. And that's just over his time in Guild Tempus.
  • Ditzy Genius: While his debut lore video emphasizes his natural talent as a pilot, it also mentions how much of a klutz and troublemaker he can be on the side.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Flayon reveals that before his debut, he ended up joining a discord call with Tempus HQ in a middle of their Raft collab back in October 2022 where he can briefly be heard making "monkey sounds". Magni quickly covered this up by referring to this mysterious person as "Manager-san", leading to the conception of the "Monkey/Gorilla Manager".
  • Easily Embarrassed Youngster: He gets flustered when any of the other guys say something vaguely sexual. He also flips out whenever he accidentally enters voice chat while someone else is streaming.
  • Eating Pet Food: Flayon's first handcam stream has him sample some snacks from Japanese convenience stores. Among them is a package he got as it had a cute cat on it. He didn't realize until after taking a sample from it that it's actually a package of cat food.
  • Ejection Seat: He hits the wrong buttons in his debut animation and gets launched out of R-TRUS as A Twinkle in the Sky and hits the ground in a Ground-Shattering Landing.
  • Exotic Eye Designs:
    • a model update video, Flayon reveals that he can change his eyes from their default catlike appearance: one without visible pupils, and one with spirals.
    • As for the Machiroons themselves, when out of their armor, their eyes sport spiral patterns when open.
  • Fake Ultimate Hero: While the specifics are left ambiguous, the prologue for X very strongly implies that Flayon's talent isn't genuine, and he's using a Deal with the Devil provided by C-TRUSnote  to take them away from someone else (suggested to either be an Identical Stranger, an Alternate Self, a sibling, or even an Enemy Within) so that he can fill a void of unfulfillment in his life.
  • Fanboy:
  • Fantastic Arousal: He comments on his antenna tail being sensitive in his debut animation which earns a Record Needle Scratch and the narrator commenting on how strange that is.
  • Future Spandex: Being a mech pilot, he's got a skintight suit as a sign of his advanced tech. Doubles as Sensual Spandex seeing as it shows off his belly button and his bulge.
  • Genius Bruiser: He is called a genius pilot in his lore, while R-TRUS gives him a lot of raw fighting firepower.
  • Height Angst: Suffers from this, much like Altare before him. He's very insistent that he isn't the shortest member of holostars (which is technically true if you factor in his senpais from the Japanese branch - Astel and Izuru are indeed both shorter than him) and doesn't like to be reminded that he's still the shortest member of Tempus.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Hakka. They generally act like close brothers, with Hakka frequently appears in Flayon's chat during his streams, and sometimes even going as far as to flirt with him.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: As a child, all Flayon wanted was to be loved as much as "that person", since he was lauded for his intelligence while Flayon was ignored. Unfortunately, this resulted in him equating talents and giftedness with love, and led to him going down a dark path after his attempts to acquire talent legitimately failed.
  • Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: The "Training arc" animation shows him to be one, as try as he might, he simply cannot hit the targets... until he fires up R-TRUS to incinerate all the targets at once.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: He brags about himself in one of his debut animation skits while the words DOUBT and MORE DOUBT pop up in the background. The fact that he is a Fake Ultimate Hero who stole his talent may have something to do with this.
  • Informed Attribute: Despite his lore describing him as an Insufferable Genius with poor social skills, in his stream activities Flayon is usually just a Bratty Half-Pint at worst, and actually pretty friendly otherwise. Likewise, he's also demonstrated to be rather goofy and air-headed, rather than the absolute prodigy his bio gassed him up to be. X later provides a justification for all of this: his true self is a Ridiculously Average Guy in all aspects with implied below-than-average social skills (but not a complete lack of them), and he's only a genius because of C-TRUS holding its end of a Deal with the Devil to give him that intellect.
  • Instant Expert: As the guild's resident pilot and navigator, he can instantly learn how to operate any kind of vehicle he comes across.
  • Insufferable Genius: His official bio describes him as a Child Prodigy and Instant Expert who managed to skip his way through his education. As a result of this, Machina has a rather big head and No Social Skills.
  • I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine: His collaborations with Doppio Dropscythe are stated to be because they knew each other as children.
  • Jack of All Trades: Stated word-for-word in his debut as one of his goals, to be good at everything. Among his skills he has included: drawing, voice acting, singing, and gaming among many things. Without C-TRUS, however, his true self can be charitably described as a Master of None.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After the announcement of X brought more of his unsavory in-universe traits to light and the true scale of what he's gotten away with unhindered, he gets a taste of his own medicine in public when Rin Penrose hijacks the R-TRUS and shoots him with its guns (though that was less because of his misdeeds and more because he one-upped her in Splatoon 3).
  • Last-Name Basis: While the EN Holostars boys tend to refer to him by his first name of Flayon or Flay, members of other branches such as JP Holostars or Hololive ID often call him "Machina" or "Machi".
  • Living Battery: The R-TRUS uses Flay's own energy as its power source.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: R-TRUS' control panels are shown to be bullet-proof and large enough for Flayon to crouch behind as cover.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: He is an exceptional voice actor, displaying one of the most phenomenal ranges among the boys. He is able to make his voice go so high to sound like a girl's, or low enough that it matches Shinri.
  • Meaningful Name: His name in Western order is Flayon X Machina, a play on Deus ex Machina, Latin for "god out of the machine" where a situation is suddenly salvaged. In his case, Flayon sounds similar to "fly on" and his full name refers to his immense piloting skills.
  • Motor Mouth: When he gets excited enough, he starts speaking at speeds so fast he becomes incomprehensible.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The shortest member of Holostars EN, but his control over a Humongous Mecha also makes him one of the most powerful among their ranks. In his Final Fantasy XIV streams, he plays a lalafell monk, making him even more pint-sized.
  • Precision F-Strike: While he doesn't swear much when calm, Flayon will drop Atomic F-Bombs like nobody's business when agitated, especially when he is "insulted" by his peers and especially when Bettel is concerned.
  • Really 700 Years Old: His guild card puts his age at 18,432 years and he's quick to call out all the people calling him a brat pre-debut. During their first collab, Bettel wonders if Flayon just made that number up.
  • Refuge in Audacity: After Flayon was seen looking at the eShop page for Trouble Days (an eroge illustrated by Marine's character artist Akasa Ai), he proceeded to double down by not only buying the Steam version for PC, but also installing a patch that removed the censorship and playing it on-stream, leading to many other talents streaming the game just to see what the fuss was about.
  • Resurrective Immortality: Implied to have this, as his monetization stream reveals that he's died almost 19,000 times.
  • Ridiculously Average Guy: "X" reveals Flayon might have been this in his past, until he took a Deal with the Devil to awaken the skills he has now because of the void in his life his lack of excellence gave him. This would also mean some or all of his previously-established backstory is a lie.
  • Running Gag: He has a streak of entering streams at the wrong time. His first incident was during HQ's Raft collab (which occurred MONTHS before he debuted and Magni had to cover for him so he wouldn't lose his position with Cover), the second time was during TemPurple's Fall Guys collab which he failed to realize they were streaming rather than just voice chatting, and the third incident occurred when Magni found him during his solo Minecraft stream (which became an impromptu collab when the other Vanguards hopped on).
  • Sad Clown: He's a victim of "gifted kid syndrome/burnout" and will lapse back into depression without C-TRUS's abilities artificially supplying his qualifications for the guild.
  • Screaming Warrior: He has a truly impressive Shonen protagonist style scream, which he showcases during his introduction animation.
  • Shout-Out: His first Twitter post is a modified version of Yoshikage Kira's infamous self-introduction speech.
  • Signing Off Catchphrase: "Flay-bye-bye!"
  • Sky Surfing: He rides R-Trus' control panel like a hoverboard in his intro waiting screen animation.
  • Smart People Play Chess: SHOKUEN's illustration for Flayon's debut has him looking over a chessboard to reflect his intelligence.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Tends to slip into this sort of voice when acting intimidating or unhinged, as seen in his message to Bettel.
  • Story-Breaker Power: When operating R-TRUS, this makes Flayon the biggest powerhouse in TEMPUS with unmatched firepower.
  • Universal Driver's License: His bio says he can instantly handle any vehicle he comes across with skill.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: As shown by the "TRAINING ARC" animation, he has far more firepower than the other boys when using R-TRUS, but his accuracy and coordination outside the mecha has much to be desired. He is unable to land a single hit on his targets compared to Altare.
  • Vague Age: He initially stated his age was 18,432 years old, before his Monetization stream reveals this number was actually the number of times he has died, making it unclear just how old he actually is.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to add "right?" after finishing a long statement.
  • Yandere: Hinted at in his debut lore video, where there is one shot of him in the dark where he acts strangely possessive towards his viewers. Comes into full effect when Bettel returned from break, Flayon went out of his way to act like one, being intentionally clingy, obsessive, and downright creepy, to Bettel's sheer horror.

    Banzoin Hakka

Banzoin Hakka (JP: 万象院ハッカ)

"Is that all you have got? You fail to entertain me!"

"The exorcist of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. Dual wielding spears, he is the latest of a long line of exorcists who have defended Xenokuni from the evils of the world. He fights not only out of a sense of duty, but also because he feels a special kind of excitement when on the frontlines. Unfortunately, his right hand is being eroded by the scourge of Records Corruption. Has inherited Karasutengu data, and thus possesses otherworldly leaping ability and endurance. Joined TEMPUS after the battle in Xenokuni."

Debut date: January 8th, 2023
Birthday: April 21
Age: 21 (at debut)
Height: 174 cm
Languages Spoken: Spanish (native), English (fluent), Japanese (learning)
Fanbase Name: Hakkitos
Illustrator: airumu
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Exorcist, Tech Support
Aliases: Haikal (by Kobo)

  • Affectionate Nickname: Despite joining the guild against his will, he refers to all of his guildmates as "brother" (except Shinri, who he calls dad).
  • Animal Motifs: Birds, particularly corvids (crows, ravens, etc.), with Hakka identifying as a tengu. He has feathers adorned on his head, has been compared with a bird by several other boys (including himself), enjoys making bird sounds, and gives himself bird-themed gamer names. One chatting stream from February 2024 shows that his feet are avian in style when he's not wearing shoes, courtesy of an art asset.
  • Blood Knight: His profile says he feels a special kind of excitement when on the front lines.
  • Cardboard Box Home: According to Jan 17, 2023 Terraria stream, Hakka got kicked out his house of exorcists for saying he wants to be a VTuber and had to stay in a box.
  • Color Motif: Lavender.
  • Cool Mask: He has a Tengu mask that he puts on when he seriously gets into a game.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Played for Laughs. He wasn't too happy when Flayon played Hatoful Boyfriend.
  • Cunning Linguist: He is fluent in English and Spanish and can understand Japanese to some degree. He often showcases this by going into long speeches in Spanish which he intends as exclusive secret messages and often does Spanish-only zatsudans.
  • Cute Little Fang: Hakka has a fang which is not easily noticeable unless looked at closely.
  • Demon Slaying: His job in the guild is being an exorcist, so it's typical of him to rid the world of various youkai. During his debut, he took the opportunity to rid the world of various Tsukumogami, as well as one of Magni's Magmites.
  • Dual Wielding: Carries two spears he uses for exorcisms. According to him, he originally had three, but sold one to Vesper.
  • Glass Cannon: Indicated by his guild card. He has low HP, but maxed out STR and nearly maxed DEX.
  • Harsh Vocals: Fitting of an exorcist, he can belt out some metal-worthy growls.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Flayon. They generally act like close brothers, Hakka frequently appears in Flayon's chat during his streams, and Hakka sometimes goes as far as flirting with him.
  • Hidden Depths: He wants to open a cafe whenever he retires from his job as an exorcist. He already knows how to make a few types of drinks and also makes his own chocolate.
  • Image Song: His original songs "Raven's Paradigm" and "Shattered Wings" are this for him, describing his relationship with his abilities and struggle against The Corruption afflicting him.
  • Keet: He's a very cheery bird. When he's not streaming, he'll often pop into the chats of his guildmates and type in all caps.
  • Kidnapped by the Call: Was originally against joining Guild TEMPUS, with Bettel having to resort to tranqing him with a dart gun and smuggling him back to Elysium in a pillowcase. Surprisingly, he doesn't bear many hard feelings about it.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: As an Exorcist with a high MP stat, by his own admission this essentially makes him the wizard class/magic user of TEMPUS. He however is noted to be also proficient in martial arts with high STR and DEX stats.
  • Like an Old Married Couple: With Bettel. They act like a couple in a marriage on life-support and teetering on divorce.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Has shoulder-length hair and is cute by his own admission.
  • Mark of the Beast: His right hand has been marked by Records Corruption, leaving it with a dark appearance.
  • Perky Goth: Hakka received a new outfit for his 1 year anniversary, which consisted of black clothes, a tattoo on his left arm, and jewelry and piercings to match the aesthetic. He still kept his perky demeanor.
  • Signing Off Catchphrase: "Hakka la vista!"
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Drops curse words frequently in many of his streams, about on par with Axel and second to that of Bettel.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: He's heavily implied this about his Karasutengu side through his songs and various lore drops, with it and The Corruption afflicting him putting him in danger of losing control of his powers and his body.
  • Tengu: Has the powers of a Karasutengu, which gives him superhuman jumping skills. His costume also has classic tengu motifs, such as a feathered cape and red beaked mask.
  • Vocal Dissonance: His design and lore characterization gives the impression of a deep-voiced stoic. The reveal of his high-pitched voice was a big surprise to everyone, being even higher than the smaller and younger looking Flayon.

    Josuiji Shinri

Josuiji Shinri (JP: 定水寺シンリ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flrv26rayaemidn.jpg
"This one arrow shall be payback for 'Dragon Gate's Leap."

"A ronin who is part of Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. Has the appearance of a wandering samurai, but was widely renowned as a master of the longbow. So famed was his prowess, they would say he could use anything as an arrow and yet never fail to hit his mark. He went into isolation for a while, lamenting the futility of war, but took up his bow and arrow once again after witnessing the young men fighting a pack of Corruption Beasts."

Debut date: January 8th, 2023
Birthday: June 23
Age: 30 (at debut)
Height: 185 cm
Languages Spoken: English (native)
Fanbase Name: Koillective (collectively), Koipanions (individually)
Illustrator: Nitaka
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Monster Hunter, Reconnaissance

  • Admiring the Abomination: At least once per horror game stream. During his playthrough of We Were Here with Bettel, he's disappointed that he couldn't spend more time examining the killer marionette in the theatre.
  • All Asians Wear Conical Straw Hats: He has a kasa hat as an accessory. The perpetual flame on it provides warmth and light.
  • Animal Motifs: Koi fish.
  • Baritone of Strength: Similar to Oga from the JP branch, Shinri boasts the deepest voice register out of his wave and TEMPUS as of the start of 2023, and can reach low notes for both his cover of "Daddy Daddy Do" and his part in the wave's original debut song, "Always Tied". It also befits his role as the powerhouse archer of TEMPUS.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Developed this due to being raised as the oldest in his own family. He plays support in team games to keep everyone alive and is always behind the scenes helping out Vanguard with various tasks.
  • Boob-Based Gag: Rare male version, where his massive pecs are often made fun of by his fellow idols, as well as the subject of envy for some of the less-endowed ones such as Ollie.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He's one of the more competent members of the guild, but he's also easily distracted by LORE (basically any bits of information pertaining to the plot). It's to the point where he'll sometimes completely miss out on jump scares because he's too engrossed in analyzing information.
  • Camera Spoofing: He once snuck out of a meeting with his manager by putting his character model on loop as if he's still there nodding to everything they said.
  • Cleavage Window: A male example where his crop top has a hole in front to show off his pecs.
  • Color Motif: Orange/yellow.
  • Energy Bow: He carries a foldable longbow on his back and uses his mana to form energy arrows as ammo.
  • Genius Bruiser: He's tall and buff, but also very knowledgeable and wise with age.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He's usually noncompetitive and chill when playing games, but he'll also start sabotaging if there's no chance for him to win (his favorite target being Bettel).
  • Hard Light: Has a light shield he can summon onto his right arm for protection.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He has a habit of downplaying his roles and actions within the guild. This doesn't stop the other members from repeatedly voicing how much they appreciate him.
  • Hunk: Ruggedly handsome and very muscular with a costume designed to show off his physique as much as possible.
  • Legendary Carp: The story he tells at the start of his debut is the legend about a koi that kept swimming upstream and leapt up a waterfall with the gods turning it into a dragon for its efforts. He relates the koi's determination as a lesson to constantly strive and improve.
  • Master Archer: His bio notes that his archery skills are so great, it's rumored he could use anything as an arrow.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Downplayed. He absolutely loves coffee and drinks many cups a day, but admits that he doesn't get much of anything of a caffeine rush from it. He however did not hesitate to describe it as a "friend who cares" when he is on the ropes of exhaustion.
  • Neat Freak: If this tweet is anything to go by, he absolutely cannot stand the sight of a disorganized dish washer and the wasted efficiency.
Shinri: i'm checking out the guild hall and...
WHO JUST SHOVED IN THE PLATES AND DISHES INTO THE DISHWASHER WILLY NILLY?!?!? THEY DON'T WASH PROPERLY WHEN THEY'rE JUST THROWN IN LIKE THIs
    AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
Vesper: You get used to it
    Shinri: [SCREAMING INTERNALLY]
Hakka: SORRY IT WAS JUST 3 CUPS I PROMISE I WONT DO IT AGAIN
Shinri: YOU HAVE TO PUT CUPS IN FACING DOWN OR THEY COLLECT THE DIRTY DISHWATER
  • Nerves of Steel: Subverted, in that while he may love horror games, Shinri isn't unflappable and is just as capable of being spooked by Jumpscares as anyone in Holopro. That being said, he is much quicker to shake it off than most other talents, and usually gets a laugh out of the experience when the surprise wears off.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: He thinks the demons in The Mortuary Assistant are cute. He also has an unhealthy attraction to deadly supernatural creatures. In his words: if it wants to kill him, then that means it wants him.
  • Noodle Incident: Shinri's left hand is blue which he initially didn't articulate on in his debut, but a zatsudan stream on 17/01/23 had him reveal that it is the result of his failure to pass an "exit exam" for soldiers who wanted to fight against the corruption beasts. The exact details of this test and why exactly it would lead to his hand becoming blue is still left unsaid.
  • Not So Above It All: He may be more grounded than the rest of his guild and is the Team Dad, but he's not above certain types of mischief, such as filling Bettel's abandoned house with beehives.
  • Only Sane Man: Among TEMPUS Vanguard, Shinri is the most mature and collected voice of reason, contrasting the other chaotic members of Vanguard. He later seems to have become to this for TEMPUS as a whole, even more so than Altare.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Contrasting with his outward appearance as the most macho member of Tempus, Shinri has admitted that he's extremely weak to all things cute. This can best be seen in how he gushes over the unveiling of the Tempus mascot plushies, especially Puniko.
  • Retraux: His official 3D model has a deliberate low-poly effect, as if he's just stepped out of a 90s videogame, complete with grainy textures that roughly corresponds to how he normally looks, and the puff of flame on his hat being a two-frame animated sprite.
  • Rōnin: The ronin of TEMPUS with his profile noting his wandering samurai appearance and longbow mastery. The debut teaser has Vesper note that he should be ex-ronin seeing as he's a part of TEMPUS, though he still exhibits strong wanderlust.
  • Samurai Ponytail: His hair is tied back in a ponytail reflecting his ronin class.
  • Serious Business: He enjoys discount food, particularly bentos. He's even devised strategies to efficiently snap up the best bentos.
  • Signature Laugh: Shinri is noted for wheezing when he laughs particularly hard. Similar to Amelia's hiccups, these are well-received.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: With Kureiji Ollie, though it's largely one-sided on her part. The rivalry stems from Shinri's chest being much larger than Ollie's, leading to her getting flustered and angry whenever he shows it off.
  • Sole Survivor: One lore video from Flayon set in an alternate timeline has Shinri be the only TEMPUS member left alive after Flayon goes rogue, kills his other guildmates, and plunges Elysium into a dark era, all because what Flayon held dear was threatened.
  • The Smart Guy: Bizarrely he ends up playing this role despite his appearance suggesting he is The Big Guy. Time and time again he is shown to be the most wise and knowledgeable out of his gen, giving concise explanations on many topics.
  • Team Dad: Considered the father among his generation by the other boys, being the second boomer among TEMPUS after Vesper.
  • Tender Tears: He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to cry during emotional moments in games or even when the stream is just for chatting. He also becomes more emotional when drunk.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: He wears a shirt that is completely open with his pecs and abs on full display, much to Ollie's consternation. He receives a turtleneck shirt in a model update in January 2024 that covers it up, but he can remove it at will, allowing him to zigzag this trope as he sees fit.
  • Walking the Earth: He's journeyed across many places before getting recruited, with a particular fondness for sampling their many different cuisines.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: While he loves most things horror related, he dislikes mannequins and during his debut went into a detailed discussion about the fear of mannequins moving and repositioning themselves when not in sight and the Uncanny Valley it instils.

"Alchemists have the wonderful ability to grant people's wishes!"

"Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS's publicist. He proclaims himself an alchemist, but nobody has ever seen him in action. Muddling the waters even further are his business ventures which take him all around Elysium. Nobody knows what his actual profession is. What does his "alchemy" even consist of... making potions? The type of person who stares right into the abyss. Rumors say he will do anything it takes to uncover the truth behind the world, and that he's hiding a dark side to him."

Debut date: July 23rd, 2022
Graduation date: August 31st, 2023
Birthday: October 21st
Age: 26 (at debut)
Height: 184 cm
Languages Spoken: English, Spanish (basic)
Fanbase Name: MAGNATION (collectively), Magmates/Magmites (individually)
Illustrator: Showichi Furumi
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Alchemist, Publicist
Alias: Dez, The "Great" Magni Dezmond, Maglord (by viewers)

Associated characters: Magmites, Magmo Dezmo

  • Abandoned Catchphrase: He initially adopted "It's Maggin' Time" as an Ascended Meme, but later expressed his discomfort with using the phrase himself and stopped using it. He still however uses "Mag" as a Person as Verb style word.
  • Alchemy Is Magic: Specifically, "the union of magic and science". The type of alchemy that he's supposedly an expert on seems to be potion-brewing.
  • Animal Motifs: Octopus, which several others have compared him with due to having six additional arms on his cape, giving him a total of eight limbs.
  • Ascended Meme: After Yagoo joined in on an early meme of combining his name with the Morbius meme, forming the word "Maggin". Dez would eventually officially use "It's Maggin Time" in his debut, adopted it as his meme hashtag, while continuing to make use of variations of Mag to describe his actions.
  • Badass Cape: An interesting one that looks like a bunch of arms. He is even able to use them as actual extra arms or Spider Limbs. The reference sheet pointedly remarks that the cape actually functions as a glove for the many mechanical arms that are attached to Dez's back.
  • Bad Boss: In a drawing stream he starts to like the idea of Magmites crawling around the laboratory, helping around, being used as expendable food, or just the splat they'd make when squashed or thrown.
  • Book Safe: One of his cloak gloves has a potion in a hollowed out book at the ready.
  • Cerebus Retcon: In the May 11th, 2023 zatsudan, Dez made a glasses asset for his model after his chat expressed interest in seeing him with a pair, for the rest of May and the beginning of June, Dez wore them for most of his streams. The June 10th, 2023 reveal of his 1.5 model would reveal that he was wearing them because his eyesight was failing as a symptom of Clone Degeneration.
  • Cybernetics Eat Your Soul: The arms of his cloak are actually mechanical arms interfacing with his spine, and his character sheet indicates his forearm attachments may or may not be similarly ingrained within him. Altare notes that Magni would be the most likely to betray the guild given the opportunity, and he himself regularly engages in morally questionable actions and/or fantasizes about them off the clock.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He blames "a certain orange boy" for breaking in his laboratory and making the town smell like mushrooms for a month.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He doesn't like mushrooms which he mentions on his debut because he finds them gross and they're related to the cordyceps.
  • Dramatic Irony: As of the 1.5 debut, Magni's habit of introducing himself as "the one and only Magni Dezmond" is this - to put it simply, he's not the only version of himself in the slightest.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: As he promised in the beginning, Magni has stopped doing comedy bits during the intro screen, which he was able to do nearly-consistently for about two months, due to both running out of ideas and them twice hurting his voice.
  • Fantastic Drug: The guy literally brewed himself some Pure Copium through the power of alchemy, which is said to be dangerous in large amounts. His particular brand of Copium is smoked directly from the vessel (which doubles as a bong), which he shared with his chat in his debut.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Dez's hair is a unique, asymmetrical bob. The left side is bluntly cut and about an inch shorter than the right side, which has layers. His bangs mirror the rest of his hair with blunt cut bangs on the right side and layered bangs on the left.
  • For Science!: Dez likes to experiment and isn't against using his guild mates as test subjects. Vesper compares him to Gon from Hunter × Hunter as someone who isn't bound by morality and does whatever interests him at the time.
  • For the Evulz:
    • When asked by Vesper what one superpower would he have, he says he'd like to be like Dr. Manhattan and make people explode, simply because he finds the concept of killing people by dramatically pointing at them hilarious.
    • In case of a Zombie Apocalypse, he admits he'll be unlikely to survive, so he would wrap himself in barbed wire and knives just to become a super zombie.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Magni's tongue is a dark burgundy, often discribed as purple, and not pink. It's hard to see and can be mistaken for a shadow, but Vesper explicitly brings it up during one of his MS Paint streams. According to Magni, it turned purple after he ate a Magmite.
  • Full-Name Basis: Magni is happy to give Affectionate Nicknames to Shinri, Bettel, and Hakka, but he swears that unless he genuinely forgets, he absolutely will not let someone with the outlandish name of MACHINA X FLAYON ever be called anything less than his full name. Flay called him out on this during his debut. This trope is now largely averted, with Magni often calling him Flayon or Flay most of the time.
  • Ghost Memory: Magni 1.5 gains most of the previous clone's memories, save for the revelations that he had learned before dying. The series of Magni Dezmond clones also have the memories of the original.
  • Giant Medical Syringe: The syringe he uses is as long as his torso and needs one of his oversized cloak gloves to use.
  • Gratuitous Laboratory Flasks: Part of his alchemy props, with a few flasks colored after the members of the guild and a potion over a burner.
  • Irony:
    • He's well and truly baffled by how he of all people got saddled with a Morbius meme, while the very vampire-looking Vesper got away scot-free.
    • In a crueler twist, the incident about the Vesper clones comes around when it's revealed Magni himself is a clone.
  • In-Series Nickname: When he isn't called "Magni", he tends to be called Dez, particularly by Altare and Vesper. Japanese members of holostars occasionally call him "Many Hand Man".
  • Insistent Terminology: He asks to be known as "the 'Great' Magni Dezmond", with "in quotes" emphasized. Similarly, Magni also insists upon addressing Machina X Flayon by his full name due to how ridiculously over the top it is, much to the latter's annoyance.
  • Internet Jerk: A few of his "hype intros" feature Doubters as a catch-all name for villains, who act like modern internet trolls and harass people on social media and streams.
  • Last-Name Basis: Is usually referred to by his surname "Magni", with only a few (particularly Altare, Vesper and some holostars JP members) calling him "Dezmond" or "Dez".
  • The Lost Lenore: Magni—the original one—had a lover during his novice days, whose life ended prematurely. This eventually sent him into a downward spiral into bringing the lover back to the point of obsession, ultimately leading to his death from a combination of overexertion and the procedure he used to make the Magmites slowly eating away at his life force with each one he made.
  • Love Potion: He drops one in his debut stream which makes him flirt with chat for a little until the effect clears.
  • Mad Scientist: An alchemist to be precise, but still engages in morally questionable experiments.
    • He created potions including bottling copium and Love Potions, while also having a habit of shrinking his collab partners down where they either sit on or get held by one of his cloak arms.
    • He also has joked about transmuting Axel and his senpai (notably Ollie and Bae) into chimeras, Shou Tucker-style.
    • Before one of his superchat readings he accidentally shrank himself while making a potion and ended up stuck in a jar. In a later stream Vesper accidentally drank one of his shrinking potions and also got put in a jar, but Magni later claims that the shrunken Vesper was a clone all along.
    • According to Vesper, Magni has a habit of taking samples of the DNA of his guildmates when they aren't looking and using them to create homunculi.
    • The Version 1.5 debut gives a reason for his tendencies: It was the template the magmites used to recreate the original Magni Dezmond, specifically from the period when he became obsessed with alchemy to recreate his old friend.
  • Magic Cauldron: Has a standard black cauldron with red fluids bubbling away, a tentacle sticking out, and what appears to be a stirring staff.
  • Magic Potion: During the debut he shows Copium, Mushroom and Love potions that have various effects in gas form.
  • The Magnificent: He fashions himself as "The Great Magni Dezmond," something his genmates eventually stuck with. It is no coincidence that Magni is the first half of the word Magnificent.
  • Magnus Means Mage: Magni is a magical alchemist with a streak of grandeur.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: While not quite to the extent of Flayon, Magni displays quite an impressive vocal range, being capable of impersonating all the voices of the TEMPUS HQ boys along with various fictional characters.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: In the "Training Arc" animation, he uses all of six of his cloak arms to pull off a Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs while chanting "MAGU MAGU MAGU MAGU!"
  • Multiarmed Multitasking: Each of the gloves on his cloak can be operated independently of each other. This is best shown in his intro where he is using the arms on his glove cloak to grind on a rail with a skateboard, play guitar, hold his drink, file his toe nails, and fan himself all while using his normal arms to hold a book.
  • Noodle Incident: There was a "very unfortunate incident" in an elderly person's home regarding a Love Potion, but he refuses to elaborate.
  • Person as Verb: Thanks to a series of memes where his name was given the Morbius treatment, "Mag" ended up becoming an all-purpose verb to describe anything he does, appearing in the variants "Maggin" or "Magged".
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: While he claims to be an alchemist, his lore states that he has never been seen actually doing any alchemy. In reality, he seems to partake in unclear "business ventures" that appear to be rather shady. He does show off some of his skills in his debut, so it's clear that he does have some decent expertise.
  • Philosopher's Stone: Has a Philosopher's Stone pinned to his coat.
  • Precision F-Strike: While nowhere near as foul-mouthed as Axel or Bettel, Magni does drop swear words every now and then.
  • Squishy Wizard: The stat card shown during his debut stream has MP, INT, and LUK maxed out, but HP, STR, and DEX almost empty. This is shown in the "TRAINING ARC" animation, where despite all of his alchemist abilities including his many cloak arms, he still fails to land a decent hit on a training dummy.
  • Sherlock Homage: The Sep 1st 2022 hype intro features the Great Detective Maglock Holmes using the Mind Palace to investigate the crime of the Doubters. It turns out Magson is a member of the ancient Order of the Doubters and holds Holmes at Dramatic Gun Cock. Holmes defeats Magson with a Discombobulate.
  • Shout-Out: A few of his "hype intros" are parodies of certain works:
  • Tomato in the Mirror: His Version 1.5 debut gave a rather chilling reveal on his identity. Magni himself is a clone of the original Magni Dezmond, who died trying to recreate his beloved through forbidden alchemy. He's one of many imperfect clones of Magni, and has an incredibly short lifespan as a result of flawed research. The one everyone knew at the beginning eventually expired and was replaced with a lookalike that isn't 100% identical, who believes himself to be the "one and only" Magni Dezmond like the clone before him.
  • Unusual Halo: His hair has a purple circle with pins that isn't aligned with head movement. He claims that the halo is projected from above.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Axel. The two of them always dunk on each other. Whenever one of them plays a game involving character creation, expect them to create the other boy for another chance at bullying.
  • Workaholic: Described as one by Vesper. Whenever any of the others call Dezmond, no matter what time, he is always awake and either putting together stream ideas or waiting.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In an August 31st 2022 stream's hype intro, as part of a Doubter Hunter bit, Magni cuts open an 11-year old Doubter while it screams before being stabbed himself. Though Doubters are described as Ambiguously Human.

"It's his childish nature that allows him to speak so freely about his dreams. He might even actually let everyone around him dream."

"Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS's academic advisor. He also holds the posts of custodian and arch-scholar at the Grand Library. Logical and rational at all times, he doesn't lift a finger unless completely convinced by something. He has an aversion to sunlight due to spending too long cooped up, absorbed in his research."

Debut date: July 24th, 2022
Graduation Date: August 31st, 2023
Birthday: February 13th
Age: 28 (at debut, supposedly; season 14)
Height: 189 cm
Languages Spoken: English (native), Japanese (minimal)
Fanbase Name: VesFriends, Vesties
Illustrator: Komiya Kuniharu(formerly), pako (2.0)
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter
Guild Role: Scholar, Academic Advisor
Aliases: Grampire, Nowa-ojitranslation (by viewers), Abuelito (by Hakka)

  • Actually Not a Vampire: He has a pair of Cute Little Fangs, wears a gothic-style coat, and is weak to sunlight, though the last part is explained by spending too much time doing research indoors. Notably, however, he dodges stating what his favorite food is during his debut. His reasoning as to why he can't be a vampire, whose validity may be questioned, is that he's afraid of vampires but isn't afraid of looking at himself. He also claims real vampires Cannot Cross Running Water, have Bishie Sparkle and hate garlic, all of which don't apply to him. His redesign only amps up the vampire comparisons further, with more prominent fangs and an insignia that looks like a bat curled up in its wings.
  • Admiring the Abomination: He has expressed a questionable fascination with Magmo, and spent time theorizing on the nature of the entity after Magni introduced it to the world.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Axel and various Japanese fans and Holopro members call him "Nowa-oji" (Uncle Noir), while Hakka calls him Abuelito (Spanish for "grandpa").
  • Animal Motifs: Bats, going hand-in-hand with with his Vampire Tropes. Even the Vesties are portrayed as dapper vest-wearing bats.
  • Ambiguously Human: Vesper's design and lore have several traits that recall those of vampires. He's a dead-ringer of Alucard from Castlevania, has pale skin, and is said to dislike sunlight. His Live2D teaser even reveals he has Pointy Ears and a pair of pointed fangs. Altare also jokingly reassures him he won't be getting a pizza with garlic. Whether he's supposed to be an actual vampire or a vampire-like human is currently unknown. When Kobo asks if he can turn into a bat, he tells the chat he can't say but whispers to Kobo that he can.
  • Badass Bookworm: As a scholar of TEMPUS, Vesper is in charge of the guild's library. He has a huge love of books and reading but is no slouch when it comes to combat. He also takes critiquing books seriously; he read all four Twilight books just so he can accurately call them garbage. It's the one form of media he insists you have to have experienced in order to have an opinion.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Vesper cares deeply for his younger brother and has more than a few stories about looking out for him during their childhood. He's also displayed similar behavior towards his fellow Tempus members.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: He uses "magging" or "Get Magged" more than Magni does.
  • Butt-Monkey: Perhaps more so than anyone else among the initial TEMPUS lineup. If Vesper participates in a collab, odds are great that he will become the communal punching bag for comedic value, with Kronii and Magni being his usual tormentors.
  • Clone Angst: When Magni mentions he has many Vespers in jars for selling, Vesper, in an increasing panic, asks if he's the original one before Magni silences him. Then Magni tells a new shrunken Vesper that's how he was to begin with and ends the stream while multiple Vespers are yelling.
  • The Comically Serious: He's The Stoic and a Perpetual Frowner, but he also references internet memes and makes goofy Tweets on his official account, while still maintaining his characteristically stony expression.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Has a pair of vampire-esque fangs. They become much more prominent in his 2.0 model.
  • Darkness Von Gothick Name: "Vesper Noir" comes from the Latin word for evening (which also alludes to bats), and the French word for black. An appropriately dark name for a vampire-esque man with a gothic fashion sense.
  • Fanboy:
  • Fire-Breathing Diner: To celebrate his channel's monetization, he samples various hot sauces, with little graphics to illustrate his own rating of their spiciness, going from 1 to 5. 4 is "I am a flamethrower".
  • First-Name Basis: He's usually referred to as "Vesper" by his fans, guildmates, and senpais.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Grampire" or "Gramps" by some of the younger girls, while Axel sometimes calls him "Pops".
  • Javelin Thrower: He revealed he bought a 7 ft long boar hunting spear on a whim which he keeps beside his bed. When he showcased his room after his 2.0 model, the spear can be seen resting against the wall and mounted on the wall in his outro animation.
  • Lantern Jaw of Justice:
    • His 1.0 model has a rather large and elongated chin, easily the most prominent within Holopro, with only Arurandeisu coming any close. The fanbase noticed this quickly, with some people playfully comparing him to the character designs of parodic visual novel Gakuen Handsome.
    • His 2.0 model more realistically proportions the chin. It's no longer elongated but is now more comparable to that of DCAU Superman.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Vesper's facial features are incredibly refined, so much so that he wouldn't look out of place in an early-2000s shoujo manga. Complementing these pretty boy features of his is a long mane of Sepiroth-esque hair that goes down to his elbows.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Calli's first thought was that he looks like Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Vesper wonders if perhaps they are distant cousins.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: According to one of his college stories, he once woke up after a night of drinking at a local bar to find himself bleeding heavily and found out later at the hospital that he had been stabbed the night before. He had been so drunk at the time that he hadn't even noticed the injury and instead went home and immediately fell asleep.
  • Morality Pet: Vesper says he has to check on Dez to make sure that he's not using potions for evil purposes.
  • Nature Lover: He's very vocal about his love of nature and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping in the woods.
  • Noodle Incident: Vesper claims to have been stabbed twice in his life. He eagerly shared the story behind one of the incidents (after getting blackout drunk, he woke up and realized he had what a doctor confirmed to be a fresh knife wound on his back), but he's remained tight-lipped on the second, as according to him, it's more of a downer.
  • Parenthetical Swearing: Uses "Get rotated" note  as a PG way of saying "Piss off."
  • Psycho Knife Nut: During his Fallout: New Vegas streams, he used a combat knife as Toots McShaker's weapon of choice.
  • The Roleplayer: Vesper loves creating his own characters when a game allows it, often crafting entire backstories for them and faithfully making in-game choices as he believes his character would.
  • Royal Rapier: His 1.0 character model included an elegant rapier as part of his vampire-inspired design, which he uses in the pre-debut Tempus manga. He no longer wears it in his updated design, but it's shown resting against the wall alongside his spear in his tearoom background.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: He has this dynamic with Kronii. Ever since their first (rather traumatic) official collab with each other, for which Vesper is still plotting revenge against Kronii, both sides have made a hobby out of comically throwing shade at each other during group games. To further fan the fire, Vesper also claimed to be the real mastermind behind Kronii's occasional spider freakouts, having paid the arachnids handsomely (in Simoleons, of course) to drop by and mess with her while she's streaming as part of his revenge scheme.
  • Skewed Priorities: One of his goals is to reach 1 million subscribers. Turns out that Vesper's motive for doing so is to ask Yagoo to play (and destroy him at) golf with him, since he figures he'd have enough leverage to request it by then.
  • The Smart Guy: He is a book lover and is extremely tech savvy, to the point of being able to assemble and take apart a PC with ease. He also has shown a variety of knowledge regarding wilderness survival that he's picked up over years of outdoor activities.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: He's Tempus's academic advisor and resident scholar; as such, he wears glasses.
  • Sour Supporter: His introduction in the pre-debut Tempus manga describes him as harsh with his criticism, but still a begrudging member of the group.
  • The Spock: Per his lore, he's the TEMPUS Guild's academic advisor and Smart Guy, who will never act before thoroughly analyzing a situation with logic and reason. Vesper himself has proven otherwise, however, with him being just as goofy and prone to doing comically regrettable things as any of the other three, if his hot sauce tasting stream is any indication.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Whenever any Vampire Tropes are brought up by chat, he claims to have no idea what they could possibly be referring to.
  • Team Dad: As the oldest and most rational of the guild, Vesper has this dynamic with the rest of TEMPUS, with his first few tweets implying that he's Hopeless with Tech, and Axel teasingly calling him a "boomer ojisan". Much like Aruran, he had asked for his followers to send him "dad jokes", which he read out on stream (and the winner's joke was pinned on his Twitter).
  • Trademark Favorite Drink: He loves tea and has planned ahead a few streams about tea during his debut.
  • Tsundere: Lore-wise, he's dismissive towards the group, but his ending screen has him blushing defensively over his photos of the other Tempus members being discovered. Vesper, being a TV Tropes fan himself, agrees he may indeed be a Tsundere.
  • Two-Faced Aside: Kobo once asked him if he could turn into a bat. He tells chat that he cannot, then whispers to Kobo that he can.
  • Vague Age: Although he stated his age during his debut stream, he ended the sentence with 'I guess' (mentioning that he wasn't allowed to leave that detail blank), as well as musing that it has been a long time since celebrating his birthday. note
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Not Vesper as a whole, as he remained a member for a bit over a year, but specifically his 2.0 model, which was revealed in one of his last streams before graduating.
