El Hermano

A mysterious being who travels the multiverse and kills Gohans that he considers weak.
  • A Pupil of Mine Until He Turned to Evil: Episode 9 reveals that he used to be a student of Grand Priest Gohan.
  • Audience Surrogate: A more twisted example than the usual. Plenty of real-world Dragon Ball fans have openly criticized how the canon Gohan began dwindling in relevancy from the Buu saga onwards, with his role of central protagonist and fighter eventually returning to Goku altogether. El Hermano himself explains that he detests "weak" Gohans because they would rather settle down with a family instead of continuing to push themselves to become the strongest beings in all creation… but where he differs from the audience is in how he decides the optimal way to express such contempt would be to personally execute or spare Gohans according to what strength they have.
  • Bad Boss: Reacts to the news that one of his strongest "pupils" was killed with complete apathy and disappointment. Unfortunately for him, this immediately gets the next "pupil" over to decide to betray and usurp him.
  • Cessation of Existence: El Hermano is capable of doing this to entire universes, as he did with Gohan Black's native universe, Universe KAL10.
  • Companion Cube: His Nintendo Switch becomes this to him while he's trapped in the Dead Zone.
  • Evil Gloating: He does this to Black after seeing him again in Episode 11.
El Hermano: You're that Gohan from Universe KAL10. The one I erased. How are you doing these days? I heard you've gotten stronger since then. If I had known all it would take was killing your mom and destroying your universe, I would have done it sooner. [Evil Laughter]
  • Evil Is Petty: What else would you call a guy who's fine and dandy with killing numerous Gohans and their universes just because they can't give him the fight he wants?
  • Family of Choice: A dark example, he considers the Grand Priest like a father even after their falling out. He views Emo as a brother after learning that he's being trained by Grand Priest Gohan like himself.
  • Faux Affably Evil: As with many other Dragon Ball baddies, he's known to lapse into this rather frequently when he isn't outright threatening.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: He smoked blunts with U420!Gohan until midnight after he got a good fight, and in a Freeze-Frame Bonus he's seen playing on the Nintendo Switch with Grand Priest Gohan.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: The Android 21 short shows that he's starting to suffer from this while in the Dead Zone, as he starts seeing his Nintendo Switch as a person and as his girlfriend.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Of Seasons 1 and 2
    • His erasure of Universe KAL10 and killing its Chi-Chi right in front of the Gohan who would then become Gohan Black are what lead to Black's obsession with the Chi-Chis of other Universes, which lead to his discovery of the Chi-Chi of Universe 7DT, which lead to him kidnapping her in order to reform her, which then lead to the events of Season 1.
    • His Bad Boss tendencies and dismissal of Android 21 for dying to a fusion are what lead to Android 21's boyfriend, Baby Gohan, betraying him and becoming the Big Bad of Season 2, which lead to Baby's plan to use the Multi-Dimensional Dragon Balls to erase both him and every Gohan in the multiverse from existence and bring Android 21 back to life, which lead to El Hermano contacting Gohanic in order to warn the rest of the Saint Gohan Beasts of Baby's betrayal, which lead to Emo, Piccolo, Absalon and Grand Priest Gohan receiving the warning instead after killing Gohanic, which then lead to the rest of Season 2. Ironically, if it weren't for this he would have ended up being the Big Bad of Season 2 instead of Baby Gohan, who instead would have continued being his dragon.
  • Idiot Ball: The first person he tries to warn about Baby's plan to wipe out all Gohans...is Gohanic, something that Gohan A calls him out on.
Gohan A: WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!
El Hermano: Because... I tried calling Gohanic first.
Gohan A: You tried to call the Chicken Fucker before me?
  • Ironic Name: "El Hermano" is Spanish for "the brother", and yet there's nothing remotely brotherly about this guy when it comes to what he does for a living.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Despite often following along with the loose style of humor Gohanverse is built around, El Hermano is still treated as a dangerous threat by both the characters of the series and the narrative itself, with any of the humor involving him usually coming from him personally rather than being done at his expense.
  • Moral Myopia: He really doesn't seem to care that killing numerous versions of the exact same guy just to hammer in a point is probably not the most well-intentioned course of action in the world.
Absalon: (upon arriving at a battlefield littered with dead Gohans) What the hell's wrong with you!?
El Hermano: I'm perfectly fine, actually. The bigger question is, what's wrong with you Gohans? You lot have the potential to be the strongest— no, you used to be the strongest in the multiverse! But now, all you do is sit on your asses and live a family life! Blegh, makes me sick. I'm simply killing weak Gohans while sparing the strong ones. What's wrong with that?
Absalon: (incensed) YOU ERASED AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE, YOU MONSTER!
  • Slasher Smile: Dons this quite frequently when fighting Absalon Gohan, and even descends into full-on Laughing Mad later into the fight.
  • The Social Darwinist: He only spares Gohans that he sees as strong, usually by them using a powerful transformation.
  • Villains Out Shopping: He's a might-makes-right, arrogant and ruthless madman who erases any universe he doesn't like for frequently petty reasons and has a Gohan-specific kill-count most likely in the thousands, let alone all the collateral damage. He also plays Switch as a hobby.

Saint Gohan Beasts

    In General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_31_200841.png

  • Dwindling Party: As Season 2 progresses, their numbers begin to dwindle. Lampshaded by Baby Gohan at the start of Episode 12.
Baby Gohan: Saibaman, 21 is dead! Gohanic is dead! and our newest member betrayed us!
Great Saibaman: It seems weird though, why did he betray us?
Baby Gohan: It doesn't matter! We're... the only ones left.
  • Expy:
    • Android 21's design takes after Super Buu's from when he absorbed Gohan.
    • Baby Gohan is based on Super Baby Vegeta from Dragon Ball GT.
    • The Great Saibaman mixes the Saibamen creatures from the Saiyan Saga with Gohan's superhero persona from the Buu Saga.
    • Gohanic is a rather obvious reference to Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • Fusion Dance: All of the members have either fused with or absorbed a Gohan. The only exception is Gohan A, who actually is a Gohan.

Prior to absorbing her universe's Gohan
The so-called strongest of the Saint Gohan Beasts.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: When Emo bites her tail, she responds by telling him to bite her more. Her short implies that this is due to the Gohan she absorbed.
  • The Dragon: To Baby Gohan, not only being his girlfriend but also the strongest member of the Saint Gohan Beasts. After her death, Great Saibaman takes over this role.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: When Slick asks if she's into vore, she's incredibly disgusted by the notion. This is after she says that she's going to turn Slick into candy and eat him.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: She sings "When You Wish Upon a Star" so badly that Emo and Slick's ears start ringing.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: Despite her invoking The Smurfette Principle as stated below, Baby outright states that she's the Saint Gohan Beasts' strongest member.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female member of the Saint Gohan Beasts. This gets subverted when it's revealed that Gohan A is actually a woman in disguise. Same goes for Kefla when Baby Gohan captures her after her death.
  • Starter Villain: She's the first Saint Gohan Beast member that Emo fights.

The leader of the Saint Gohan Beasts in El Hermano's absence, as well as Android 21's boyfriend.
  • Big Bad: Of Season 2 as the heroes journey into the Cell Lands in order to stop him from using the Multi-Dimensional Dragon Balls to erase every Gohan in the multiverse from existence.
  • The Dragon: To El Hermano prior to the events of Season 2, being the leader of El Hermano's followers, the Saint Gohan Beasts. Gohan A later ends up replacing him in this role, being the only member of the Saint Gohan Beasts made aware of his betrayal.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
    • Despite Baby's status as a villain effectively banning him from caring about Android 21 in Slick Goku's eyes due to villain tropes, he does genuinely love and care about her. It's to the point that ends up pulling The Starscream on El Hermano, as listed below.
    • Baby is also later shown to care about Great Saibaman as he tries to talk him out going after the heroes, not just because he doesn't think Great Saibaman can win, but also because he doesn't want to lose another friend.
Baby Gohan: Saibaman... I can't lose you too.
  • The Starscream: After El Hermano disowns Android 21 as his pupil due to her losing to a Deus ex Machina (read: a fusion), Baby effectively cuts all ties with him, deciding to use the Multi-Dimensional Dragon Balls to bring back 21 and then pull a Cessation of Existence on both El Hermano and every single Gohan in the entire multiverse just to spite him.

    Great Saibaman

Great Saibaman

Voiced by: Hawk Abridged

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_09_07_192303.png
(SPOILERS): Overdrive form
A humanoid Saibaman wearing a Great Saiyaman costume.
  • Action Bomb: Like other Saibamen, he can blow himself up. Unlike other Saibamen, he can regenerate due to him having nanomachines (Son!) and doesn't even need to grab his opponent to blow them up as he can throw his severed limbs like grenades.
  • The Dragon: He becomes this to Baby Gohan after Android 21's death, being the only member of the Saint Gohan Beasts who reports to him directly. Even if that weren't the case, he would end up becoming this anyway on account of being the only other member left after Gohanic's death and Gohan A's betrayal.
  • Eaten Alive: When Great Saibaman tries to blow everyone up with his Overdrive form, he winds up getting eaten by Oni King Piccolo (he had made himself giant size and could easily tank the explosion).
  • Faux Affably Evil: He is by far the most polite of the Saint Gohan Beasts... but he's still part of the Saint Gohan Beasts.
  • Godzilla Threshold: After getting curb-stomped by Oni King Piccolo, Great Saibaman unleashes his Overdrive form, a form that, much like Cell, causes him to inflate and charge up enough energy to create an explosion powerful enough to destroy the beach they're fighting on at the price of permanently killing himself.
  • Hypocrite: Part of his ranting is over how Piccolos will always be weak, despite the fact that as a Saibaman (which are basically cannon fodder nowadays) he should be even lower on the scale of power. This point gets further drilled in during Piccolo's "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
Piccolo: Shut the hell up, vegetable.
Great Saibaman: What did you just call me?!
Piccolo: You need your ears checked? I called you a vegetable. Actually, calling you a vegetable is an insult to them. You're a weed. A good for nothing weed that enjoys sucking the life out of innocent Piccolos because if it was anyone else, you'll get curb-stomped. You claim I'm the weakest in my group, but I can tell you're the weakest in your group.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: He appears to not be aware of Baby Gohan's betrayal of El Hermano and believe they're still doing their original plan of bringing him back from the Dead Zone with the Multi-Dimensional Dragon Balls.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He gives one to Piccolo during their fight.
Great Saibaman: You Piccolos are pathetic. Every. Single one. I kill. Thought they weren't weak! That THEY were special! YOU ARE WEAK, PICCOLO! YOU AREN'T SPECIAL! AND THERE'S NO QUEEN OF ENGLAND! YOU! AND ALL YOUR MULTIVERSE VERSIONS WILL ALWAYS BE! DISGUSTING SLUG CREATURES THAT WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING! [Beat] The only, useful thing you'll ever do... is cause them [Absalon, Emo, and Black] to fall apart.
  • Sadist: He admits to Baby Gohan that he (figuratively speaking) takes great pleasure in killing and humiliating Piccolos and flat out tells U7DT!Piccolo that he got an erection when he killed his world's Piccolo.
  • Weak, but Skilled: He lacks the raw power of the rest of the Saint Gohan Beasts, but makes up for it with inventiveness around his Healing Factor and Action Bomb powers to be counted among their number.

    Gohanic

Super Gohanic

A speedy Gohan in a Sonic the Hedgehog suit that lives and breathes copyright infringement.

  • Advertised Extra: He's featured prominently in the first opening of Season 2, despite the fact that by the time it plays for the first time, he's already been killed off.
  • Ax-Crazy: Out of the Saint Gohan Beasts, he is by far the most unhinged. He immediately goes rogue to take down Emo once he kills Android 21, constantly brings out Slasher Smiles like there's no tommorow in combat, and openly admits to screwing chickens.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: Gohanic outright admits to screwing chickens in response to a "counting chickens before they hatch" rhetoric from Grand Priest Gohan. Emo refuses to touch him to get his ringing phone solely because of that.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Eschews long range ki attacks in favor of a completely hand to hand fighting style. What special attacks he has only help him deal more damage up close. Emo capitalizes on this and hides spikes to impale him next time Gohanic rushes him.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: He can best be summed up as Sonic the Hedgehog with all the character's attitude, energy and cockiness turned up to eleven, with any heroic traits substituted for an Ax-Crazy personality. What makes it all the more egregious is that, intentionally or not, some of the Sonic music used in his episode is more associated with Sonic's rivals than to the blue blur himself— "The Supernatural" is associated with Shadow and "Stardust Speedway (Bad Future)" is associated with Metal Sonic in the games proper.
  • Fastest Thing Alive: He describes himself as "the fastest furry in the multiverse".
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How he meets his death, just like with the hazards from the Sonic series.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He gets killed by Emo in the very first episode of Season 2.

Gohan A's True Identity (SPOILERS)
The Saint Gohan Beasts' new recruit.

For tropes about her as Gohana, click here

  • Ambiguous Gender: While they have a male-sounding voice, they seem to have a more feminine body. They're confirmed to be female, as they are really Gohana.
  • Bare-Handed Blade Block: They easily catch and break Black's ki blade with one hand.
  • Blackmail: Piccolo forces them to reveal the location of Baby's lair so that he could fly there, despite them telling him doing so will alert the Perfect Cells of their location, by threatening to revealing their real identity to Black.
Piccolo: You know where Baby's lair is. Tell me.
Gohan A: I'm literally taking you guys there.
Piccolo: Walking ain't my style anymore. I prefer flying.
Gohan A: You idiot! The moment you fly, you'll alert the Cell- !
    (Piccolo Flash Steps beside them)
Piccolo: Listen, little girl. You may have had these idiots fooled since day one, but not me. Tell me where he is or I'll expose your identity in front of everyone. Better yet, I'll tell that British brat over there. It's obvious you care for him. The choice is yours.
Gohan A: [Beat] (timidly) Fly in that direction for 30 minutes until you hit a forest with red trees. His lair will be right there.
Piccolo: (Pats them on the shoulder) Good girl.
  • Break Them by Talking:
Gohan A: Why do you continue to use a technique that you haven't even mastered?
Gohan Black: This technique helped me during El Calvo's rebellion! It helped me in the DAU, and it will beat you now!
Gohan A: But did it help you defeat The Emo? Does it help you now? I don't know about the DAU, but you defeated El Calvo on a fluke, little dude. Nothing more, nothing less.
  • Cool Mask: They're seen wearing a Time Breaker mask
  • The Dragon: They become this to El Hermano after Baby Gohan's betrayal, being the only member of the Saint Gohan Beasts made aware of said betrayal.
  • Graceful Loser: As they're getting hit by Black's Holy Light Grenade, they just tell him "Nice job".
  • Lazy Alias: "Gohan A" is literally just Gohana's name with the "Gohan" and "A" parts spaced out.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: They were unaware of Baby's plan to eradicate all Gohans in the multiverse until Absalon tells them about it, with El Hermano confirming it.
  • Walking Spoiler: "Hit vs Gohana" reveals that Gohan A is actually Gohana after she betrayed the Gohan Council.
  • We Can Rule Together: They try to convince Black to follow El Hermano in order to get stronger, but fails. Considering Gohan A's true identity, it seems more that she wants to make sure he's safe.
Gohan A: I was really impressed back there, Black. Even though your stand technique needs some polishing, you have a great knack for Ki manipulation. With proper training, you could create a plethora of weaponry. Hell, you could even create a scythe if you wanted to. All it requires you to do is...
Black: Become a servant for someone who wiped out my universe?
Gohan A: El Hermano isn't that bad. All he wants to do is make the Gohans great again. And to get rid of the Gohan Council. Even you have to admit, they're corrupt.
    (Beat)
Black: Yeah... I didn't think so.
  • Wolverine Claws: They're able to make these out of their Ki.
