Super Saiyan 2
False El Blanco
True El Blanco
The main character and the Gohan of Universe 7DT
  • The Call Knows Where You Live: Emo Gohan initially wants nothing to do with the Gohanverse and rudely refuses Grand Priest Gohan’s offer for training, at least until Android 21 blows up his house and tries to kill him and Slick Goku.
  • Catchphrase: "Bite me."
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: While not creepy, he does gain a thicker outline around his eyes after the show's Art Evolution.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Emo begins the series a veteran of fighting and of shonen tropes on the whole, having dealt with his Cell already. That still leaves him significantly behind others in terms of power and ignorant of the Gohanverse so he has a lot of catching up to do when it won't leave him alone.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Everyone in the Gohan Council mainly call him "Emo" or "The Emo". Justified in that everyone there is called Gohan and it's used to refer to him specifically.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While he doesn't like Black, to the point of rooting for Gohan A to win during the two's fight, even he's willing to defend him when El Hermano brags about killing Black's mom and erasing his universe.
  • Genre Savvy: When Grand Priest notes his surprise over Emo willingly coming back to train, he says that he figured that someone was going to come along to make him realize he's weak and cause him to come back to Grand Priest to train anyways, so he's just cutting out the middle man.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While Emo can be very crass, he does really care about the ones closest to him.
    • The reason that he was able to achieve El Blanco's true form was because of his rage over Black attempting to lobotomize Chi-Chi.
Emo: How dare you hit my... my... MOOOOOOOOMM!!!!!
    • When Absalon insists that they don't take Piccolo with them to the Cell Lands, believing that he'll just be dead weight, Emo vouches for him.
Emo: He's been my only friend and teacher before I was dragged into this Gohanverse shit. Hell, before I... I became... like this. When my mom was being a hoe and kicked me out when it was "tensome nights" as she called it, he allowed me to crash at his place. When I was feeling down, he brought me a Bubsy game, even though I hated it. When my dad was out trying to make moves on Saitama, he baked me a cake so I'll feel happy. It was a shit cake, but it was the thought that count. Alcohol may be the first important thing in my life, but he's still a close second. I believe in Piccolo. Please, just give him a shot.
  • Phrase Catcher: "The Emo? The Emo."
  • Rage Breaking Point: Hits this when Black first hits Chi-Chi, then attempts to lobotomize her. It ends up being the trigger that allows him to achieve El Blanco's true form.
  • Rooting for the Empire: An In-Universe example. He spends the majority of the fight between Black and Gohan A cheering for the latter.
Absalon: Would it kill you to not be an ass towards him?
  • Spikes of Doom: His "Spiked Blanco" attack, which he can set and summon with a Badass Fingersnap.
  • Vocal Dissonance: He has a ridiculously deep voice for a preteen. Android 21 lampshades this in Android 21: A Gohanverse Movie, stating Emo sounds like an old man.
  • World's Strongest Man: As of Grand Priest Gohan's training, his false El Blanco form is on par with El Blanco Absalon, thus making the true version the strongest in the entire Gohanverse.

    Chi-Chi

Chi-Chi

Voiced by: Ez-Breezy, Neoka (pre-Gohanverse)

Episodes 1-5 (left); Episode 6-7 (right)
Season 2
Emo Gohan's mother.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Exaggerated. In the first episode, when asked how many men Chi-Chi has slept with, Emo admits he lost count at five hundred, and in the fourth, Black discovers that she's managed to get banned from every single porn site known to man. She gets better, thankfully.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While she's willing to sleep with anyone, including an alternate version of her son, she does say that she doesn't do minors.
  • Last-Second Chance: Once Goku asked if she wants another kid, she tells him to throw a year's worth of marriage counseling and he got himself a deal, which he agrees.
  • Put on a Bus: She has so far been completely absent from the series after the end of Season 1. Justified as she is no longer kidnapped and isn’t a fighter and thus has no reason to stay involved with the plot. This gets subverted when she appears at the end of Baby Gohan vs Kefla when she sees her house destroyed.

    Piccolo

Piccolo

Voiced by: GohanOXG, Prince Vegeta (pre-Gohanverse)

Episodes 1-5 (left); Episode 6-onwards (right)
(SPOILERS): Oni King Piccolo
Emo Gohan's ... "friend"?
  • Big Red Devil: His Oni King form gives him red skin and horns like a demon.
  • Deal with the Devil: Like how Vegeta made a deal with Babidi in the Buu Arc, he agrees to follow Great Saibaman in exchange for power.
  • Deconstructed Trope: This version of Piccolo is very well aware of his status as a once powerful foe that ended up getting sidelined upon joining the good guys, setting up his character arc for season 2.
  • Energy Absorption: In his Oni King form, he gains a power boost every time he takes damage, an ability that Gohan A compares to a Saiyan's Zenkai boost.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Episode 15 has him joining Baby in order to obtain more power.
  • Morality Chain: Despite turning evil and agreeing to work with Baby, Piccolo shows he still cares about Emo when he only agrees to the partnership on the condition that Emo's spared when Baby wipes out all the Gohans.
  • Oni: Word of God notes how Piccolo's Oni King form is based off an one.
  • Only Sane Man: Piccolo plays this role for the Universe 7DT characters, clearly being the most well-adjusted one between Emo Gohan's overly depressed and whiny attitude, Chi-Chi's thirsty tendencies and prostitution, Slick Goku's smugness and Gohan Black's increasingly aggressive and self-centered attempts to "fix" Chi-Chi's behavior.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While in his Oni King form, his normally calm and reserved demeanor descends into a Laughing Mad fit as he realizes how to defeat Great Saibaman. Emo, Absalon and Black are all shown to be visibly disturbed by this.
  • Parental Substitute: He was the one that mainly took care of Emo while Chi-Chi was sleeping around with other men and while Goku was absent.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: According to Great Saibaman, the Oni King form grants its user great power but at the cost of driving the user crazy.

Episodes 1-5 (left); Episode 6-onwards (right)
Super Saiyan Rosé
(SPOILERS): Before fusing with Zamasu

A Gohan from Universe KAL10 who kidnaps Emo's Chi Chi in order to reform her.

  • Ascended Extra: He goes from being the Well-Intentioned Extremist Arc Villain of Season 1 to being one of the main characters of Season 2.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When Absalon threatens to send both him and Emo to the DAU if they don't work together, he grabs Absalon's leg and begs him to not send him back there.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: While his Ki Blade is powerful, it consumes too much of his ki and its swings are too slow, allowing opponents to easily predict and dodge the attack. Additionally, the blade can be easily broken, leaving Black vulnerable to an additional attack.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Being called British, which he will deny.
    • U7DT!Chi-Chi. He gets so pissed off from her sexual deviancy that he's willing to lobotomize her, even with a high chance of leaving her brain dead. This is because he sees her entire existence as a disgrace to the memory of his Chi-Chi.
  • Catchphrase: "I'm not British!"
  • Expy: At least on a surface level, he's a Gohan version of Goku Black.
  • Evil Brit: Unlike Goku Black, he has the accent in both his base and Super Saiyan Rosé forms. Emo Gohan frequently comments on it, annoying Black.
  • Fatal Flaw: Pride. Whenever the impracticalities of using his Ki Blade are pointed out, Black is insistent on using it due to it working in the past.
    [Episode 7]
Gohana: Black! You're putting too much ki in the sword! Your swings are too slow and wide!
Black: It worked in the past! And it will work now!
Gohana: Oh my, really? Let's say someone sees through your attacks. What would you do then?
Black: They won't because they're dead!

    [Episode 10]
Absalon: Black, stop using the sword! He's too fast for you!
Black: [Growls] I will not! I will beat him using this and no one can tell me otherwise!
  • Faux Affably Evil: Black is polite, formal, and all too willing to lobotomize Chi-Chi to speed up her "reformation" despite there being a high chance of her becoming brain-dead.
  • Fighting Spirit: Episode 10 reveals that, in his time in the DAU, he gained the ability to utilize Stand Power and his Ki to summon Zamasu as a stand-like construct.
  • Foil:
    • To Goku Black:
      • While Goku Black was created by Zamasu stealing Goku's body to exact his plan to eradicate all mortal life due to his disdain for them, Gohan Black was created by Zamasu fusing with UKAL10!Gohan to save his life after learning that not all mortals are inherently evil.
      • While Goku Black only has the British accent when he's Super Saiyan Rosé, Gohan Black has it regardless of which form he's in.
    • To Emo:
      • While Emo's parents are neglectful, with Chi-Chi whoring herself out and Goku pretending to be an idiot to drive his family away, Black's parents were genuinely good parents, to the point that the reason Black travels the multiverse is because he misses his world's Chi-Chi.
      • While Emo tends to be a Sir Swears-a-Lot, Black tends to avoid swearing and often censors himself.
  • Freudian Excuse: The History of Gohan Black reveals that the Goku of Black's native universe died of natural causes, meaning the Dragon Balls couldn't be used to revive him, and Chi-Chi sunk into a deep depression as a result. When El Hermano came to Universe KAL10, she shielded Gohan from one of his attacks and died in the process. And on top of that, his entire universe was wiped out by El Hermano, with him as the Sole Survivor thanks to Zamasu's intervention.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: In contrast to Emo, he doesn't really swear. The most he gets in profanity is "hell".
    [Episode 7]
    [Episode 9]
    Black: Holy... Shiitake Mushroom.
Emo: For fuck's sake! Just say shit, you little shit!
  • Heel–Face Turn: Downplayed as while Black was a Well-Intentioned Extremist, he was never truly evil and he spent most of his time as Season 1's Arc Villain being the Hero Antagonist to Emo's Villain Protagonist, prior to the former Jumping Off the Slippery Slope after having his Berserk Button pushed one too many times and the latter having a Heel Realization. He joins Emo's group in Season 2 as they journey into the Cell Lands to stop Baby Gohan.
  • Hour of Power: He can only summon Zamasu as a stand-like construct for three minutes.
  • Icy Gray Eyes: Black has these in his Super Saiyan Rosé form.
  • In-Series Nickname: He tends to be called "British Shit" by Emo.
  • Laser Blade: Black uses one against Emo in episode 7, after the latter achieves El Blanco's true form. He later creates a massive one which he calls "Rose Excalibur."
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Black's hair turns pink when he assumes his Super Saiyan Rosé form.
  • Semi-Divine: Gohan Black is a fusion of a half Saiyan and a Kai and can use the Super Saiyan Rosé form.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: Black tends to censor his swears, but has no problem calling Kakyoin a cuckold in Episode 11. His defense? It’s Shakespearian.
  • Trauma Button: El Hermano is this to him because he killed his mom and erased his universe. Even hearing his voice causes him to have a panic attack.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: He used to be an ordinary kid with no powers and two loving parents, but became the person he is now after losing his father to illness, being attacked by a guy wanting a fight, witnessing said guy murder his mom and destroy his universe, and seeing a version of his mom acting like a slut.
