    Mae
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charmae2.png
Age: 23
Device: MF-7 Mapleberry
Voiced by: Momobako
The main protagonist of Blue Revolver, Mae is a genius rabbit-eared girl who often makes home-made Devices as a hobby. Unfortunately, said hobby also has the unintended side-effect of causing excess junk data to build up and cause damage to the environment. It also caught the ire of Blue Revolver who responded by sending out an army to take her in. Feeling threatened, Mae responds by launching a counter-attack, taking the fight to them.

If playing as Val, she shows up as the Stage 4 boss in place of Ira, but using Ira's ship instead of the Mapleberry, which she says has gone missing.

  • Anti-Villain: Type 4. Mae isn't actively evil, she just wants to make awesome gadgets for fun. The problem is that her gadgets happen to be so dangerous to civilization and the environment that the titular Blue Revolver fights her for good reasons.
  • Break the Haughty: Mae's ending has her go through this, first with her Device malfunctioning while fighting Dee and Val and then getting told off by the two over her actions.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Her Steam card states that she loves cute things.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her eyes are noticeably different compared to everyone else's; the schlera are a bright blue, her irises a lighter shade and her pupils are white.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: The fact that she made her own home-made Device cements her as one.
  • Goofy Print Underwear: More like Goofy Print Tights, but her tights have a cute snowman design on them.
  • Hair-Raising Hare: Downplayed in both ways. Mae isn't actively malevolent but rather unaware of her hobbies' consequences, and her rabbit ears and tail are accessories rather than parts of her body.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Though she's actually a human, Mae looks like a rabbit girl, thanks to her rabbit-eared headband and spherical tail.
  • Obliviously Evil: All she ever wanted to do was just make highly-advanced Devices. How was she to know that doing so would be dangerous to the environment?
  • Older Than They Look: Looks, acts, and sounds like a teenager, yet she's in her early 20's. To compare, Val sounds and looks clearly older than Mae, but is actually only a year older.
  • Skilled, but Naive: Capable of creating some really fancy Devices, but is blissfully ignorant of laws and regulations surrounding them which are there for a reason.
  • Too Clever by Half: For all her smarts, there was no way that she could foresee her Device breaking down on her at the worst possible momentnote .
  • Villain Protagonist: Though she's more Obliviously Evil than your typical one.
  • Womanchild: She's 23 years old yet from the way she reacts to Blue Revolver's intervention, you'd think she's a child whose parents are taking her toys away. It doesn't help that she's Older Than She Looks.

    Val

"I'm getting really tired of playing cat and mouse. Could you do me a favor and turn yourself in instead?"

Age: 24
Device: R3-5 Urayasumi (playable), R3-H Yasumi (Stage 3 boss)
Voiced by: Yuzu Nayuki
A member of Blue Revolver, she's described as a sort of errand girl. She however possesses great magic skill but chooses not to tell anyone else about it out of not wanting to put effort into the things she does. She is one of two player characters, and shows up as the Stage 3 boss if playing as Mae.

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Her Steam card states that she's highly skilled with magic, but she prefers not to tell anyone about her abilities because she doesn't want to seem useful. In her pre-boss speech, she complains about having to chase Mae and rhetorically tells her to turn herself in. And then there's her ending where she decides to call in sick after having a weird dream...
  • Climax Boss: If you're playing as Mae, she shows up in Stage 3 out of 5, is significantly harder than the first two bosses, and unlike them she explicitly tells Mae to stop and turn herself in.
  • Combining Mecha: Like the twins mentioned below, she can hook up her jet to a much larger one. This serves as the first phase of her boss fight in stage 3.
  • The Dragon: She seems to be this to Dee considering that she shows up more often than the other Blue Revolver members and even assists her as the True Final Boss in stage five on parallel mode when playing as Mae.
  • Dual Boss: With Dee in Stage 5 on Parallel mode if playing as Mae.
  • Playing Sick: This is what she does after having one heck of a dream in her ending.
  • Recurring Boss: Unlike the other Blue Revolver members, she shows up to dog Mae quite a good few times:
    • First she attempts to take her out in the intro, only to get struck down by one of Mae's bombs.
    • She then attacks her in the second stage in her jet as the midboss.
    • Next she shows up at the end of stage 3 as the boss piloting a large fighter jet.
    • And lastly, if playing on Parallel mode with Mae, she'll show up to back up her boss Dee as part of the True Final Boss.

    Rum & Ale
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charrumale.png
Left: Rum Right: Ale
"Where do you think you're going in that machine?"

Age: 18
Device: R1-1 Delphi (Rum), R1-2 Delphi (Ale)

A pair of twins who work for Blue Revolver and appear as the first boss. Rum's the male while Ale's the female. Despite being adults, they both argue with each other constantly and often have to be babysat by Ira.

  • Combining Mecha: Their Devices can combine together into one larger mech.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Both are constantly bickering with each other, often times requiring Ira to try and keep the peace between them.
  • Sibling Team: Both are fought as the first boss in the game, though which sibling actually shows their face before the fight begins depends on the difficultynote .
  • Tank Goodness: According to the Steam achievement for defeating them, their Devices take the form of a large assault tank.
  • Theme Twin Naming: Both are named after various types of alcohol.

    Don
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chardon.png
"That Device doesn't seem to be registered in our database. Did someone sell it to you?"

Age: 29
Device: R2 Haskel
A member of Blue Revolver, Don is a world-famous pilot whose exploits don't get acknowledged very much by his superior Dee, who often makes him do tedious paperwork. He's fought as the boss of stage 2.

    Ira
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charira.png
"I've heard a lot about you. Step out of the cockpit and come play with me!"

Age: 21
Device: R4 Luna
Yet another Blue Revolver member. Despite her intimidating looks, she's actually much friendlier than she lets on. She's fought as the boss of stage 4.

  • Face of a Thug: She looks downright sinister, and yet her Steam card states that she's actually very kind and friendly. Then again, it also says that she tends to get a bit too friendly at times...
  • Girlish Pigtails: Wears her hair in this fashion.
  • Humongous Mecha: Her Device can take on this form.

    Dee
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chardee.png
Age: 25
Device: SR-1 Epsilon
The founder and leader of Blue Revolver, Dee once worked part-time as a waitress at a restaurant before striking it out with Device development, leading to her forming the titular group.

  • Big Bad: Sort of, she's more of a Hero Antagonist than anything else.
  • Dual Boss: In the True Final Boss fight, with whichever player character you didn't pick.
  • Final Boss: On normal and hyper, she's this.
  • Hero Antagonist: She's the final enemy that Mae faces, yet all Dee really wants is for Mae to stop endangering the environment with her hazardous devices.
  • No-Sell: When fought on parallel, any attempts to use a bomb will lead her to use one of her own to cancel your shots out.
  • Promoted to Playable: If the Updated Re-release Double Action is any indication, then Dee will become playable as part of an extra mode.
  • Transforming Mecha: Like Val, her Device can switch between jet and robot forms.
  • True Final Boss: Shares this role with whoever's opposing the player character (play as Mae and Val will face you and vice versa) on parallel mode.
