Click here to see Yoko after a two-year timeskip
Yoko is the daughter of Grand Priest Geo of Meta-llicana Kingdom. She grew up with Lucien and loves him dearly. In order to save the kingdom from crisis, she breaks Dark Schneider’s seal with her virgin kiss and a magical spell. A righteous woman, she’s always chastising the vulgar Dark Schneider.

  • Cute Little Fangs: Which usually show up any time Yoko is angry or indignant
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Wears a single stocking on her left leg while the other is bare.
  • Medium Awareness: She'll really let D.S. have it whenever he fails to conduct himself the way the main character of a shonen manga would. In the manga itself she even mentions that his whole scoundrel routine, especially where sexual impropriety is concerned, is causing the female readership to flood the Shonen Jump inboxes with hate mail.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Her treatment in Gara's ninja castle, especially in the OVA where the poor girl is left to thrash around dangling from the rafters in an unfastened cloth so she can watch D.S. and Gara fight.
"Ooh, not again!! (The cloth flutters off her shoulders) ... Could one of you ninjas get that?"
  • Pervert Revenge Mode: Responsible for many, many, many instances of this against Dark Schneider, who being who he is never learns his lesson, though he's not the only one vulnerable to this, as a group of Meta-Llicana soldiers that are unfortunate enough to enter in on her hugging Lucien while naked learn.
    • While in Yoko and Lucien's bedroom, Gara gets Yoko's foot slammed in his face for threatening to make his interrogation tactics get sexual.
  • Shameful Strip: Gets a slime set on her by Gara as an interrogation method.
  • Skewed Priorities: Was very reluctant to undo the seal on Dark Schneider at first out of embarrassment.
    • While thankful that Dark Schneider had gone out of his way to rescue her from Gara's ninja castle, she's pretty miffed to find out Lucien had Princess Sheila draw out Dark Schneider.
  • Swiper, No Swiping!: Logically all Yoko can do to stop the shenanigans of a hell raiser like Dark Schneider besides kissing him back into Lucien would be to Dope Slap him and shame him out of carrying out any of his plans, some of which includes revenge against her father, the Grand Priest Geo Noto Yoko who was responsible for sealing D.S. into Lucien in the first place. To the surprise of everyone, it usually works, possibly because of Lucien's influence on Dark Schneider.
  • Tsundere: As Dark Schneider's hapless priestess handler, Yoko has to take on a stern and belligerent attitude to keep him in line and put up with his insane antics. She especially likes annoying the sorcerer by displaying a preference of Lucien over him by saying she and Dark Schneider are Just Friends compared to what could possibly describe her relationship with Lucien.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Her major development in Hell's Requiem arc. After failing to awaken Dark Schneider inside of Lucien for two whole years, Yoko took it upon herself to improve her magic skill so she can not only defend herself, but also be more involved in defending Aian Meide from invaders in Schneider's absence.
  • Virgin Power: Well, 80% virgin, which is virgin enough to transform Lucien into Dark Schneider and back again.

    Luche/Lucien Renlen

A war orphan adopted by Geo, Lucien grew up with Yoko as if he were her little brother. He acts and talks in a childish manner, but the legendary wizard Dark Schneider is sealed in his body.
  • Anywhere but Their Lips: Yoko's maternal pecks on the cheek won't bring out Dark Schneider.
  • Children Are Innocent: Docile and gentle to a fault, and is an easy target for anyone in Meta-Llicana that tries to bully out of sight of Yoko.
  • Children Do the Housework: Loves doing laundry. Though to Yoko's chagrin Lucien occasionally handles her underwear.
  • Kiddie Kid: Comes of as more of a toddler than the 14 year old he's meant to be, implying that being so close to Yoko has left him especially spoiled.
  • Older Than They Look: He's 14 but looks and acts like a 7 year old. Even after a Time Skip he still looks like an elementary schooler. He does look more his age when he reveals his true form, however.
  • Restraining Bolt: Lucien may or may not be influencing Dark Schneider's decision making and alliances. Much of the Four Divine Kings feel like Dark Schneider has gone soft compared to what he was like before his fusing into Lucien's body.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Is the can for D.S. but also for Lucifer, his true identity.
    • Leaking Can of Evil: As the series goes on, it becomes much easier for D.S. to break free, to the point that he can also break free from containment whenever something royally pisses off Lucien, such as bearing witness to any harm done to Yoko.
  • The Reveal: Lucien is the reincarnation of the fallen angel Lucifer, having covertly incarnated himself as a human infant to regain the the fragment of his soul that became Dark Schneider. Furthermore, while consciously unaware of his true nature, Lucifer has been attempting a Split-Personality Merge on DS to become fully whole and aid Satan in their war on Heaven.
  • Sleep-Mode Size: Played with. Its not just as simple as Lucien's body keeping Dark Schneider contained and sealed away. Dark Schneider is also able to take over the steering wheel while in Lucien form whenever Lucien literally falls asleep, and can just as easily lose control if something shakes the boy awake.
  • Sprouting Ears: He sprouts dog ears on occasion when feeling playful with Yoko, and tends to get D.S. doing it too.

    Princess Sheila Tuel Meta-llicana

Voiced by: Konami Yoshida (1992 OVA), Nao Tōyama (2022 ONA), Bridget Hoffman (OVA, English dub)

The beautiful princess of Meta-llicana Kingdom, known for her long black hair. She is proud of her royal upbringing and has a strong sense of responsibility but is quite naïve. She is subject to the mercy of Dark Schneider’s whims but eventually falls for him.
  • Action Duo: Her and Dark Schneider while rescuing Yoko from Gara's hideout. They probably would have resembled a Lady and Knight were it not for Dark Schneider's utter inability to respect her boundaries.
  • Defiled Forever: Ends up getting very aroused while being hoisted around and manhandled by Dark Schneider against her wishes, to the point that she no longer feels like she's marriage material. She even shouts at him to "take responsibility" when D.S. quips about her heavy breathing.
  • Escort Mission: While tasking Dark Schneider with Yoko's rescue, Princess Sheila absolutely refused to stay in Meta-Llicana and let the scheming, conniving Dark Schneider out of her sight. She inadvertently causes this problem for D.S. as a result, and to bypass those complications, Dark Schneider decides to literally carry her through most of Gara's ninja stronghold
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Unsurprising that a princess would wear purple when not in her ceremonial role.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: Downplayed, but while she's being carried on D.S.'s shoulders she has a very hard time not yelping in arousal while her crotch keeps being rubbed on Dark Schneider's ladder climbing arm.
    Princess Sheila: A-Ahn~
    Dark Schneider: Hold still!
    Princess Sheila: Ah- y-yes...
(They finally reach the top of the ladder)
Princess Sheila: P-please, put me down...
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Not at all very cautious, being a naive princess out of her element in Gara's ninja hideout. Dark Schneider finds her suggestion to go through the main gate absolutely adorable, but he ends up getting a slash in the abdomen from a possessed, poisoned sword when Sheila ventures to pick it up without thinking twice.
  • Living Macguffin: Holds one of the seals of Anthrasax within her person.
  • The Load: Invoked Trope. Dark Schneider is well aware she's not the fighting type and asks her to strip off her armor and sidearm as not to slow the party infiltrating Gara's hideout down. The instant Sheila slaps D.S. in protest to being told "ladies first" in front of a ladder, Dark Schneider immediately hoists her butt up on his shoulders like a shepherd carrying a lost lamb. Despite this treatment, she does a great job at distracting the Suzuki Dogezaemon long enough for Dark Schneider to blast it to death.
  • Shameful Strip: Sheila complies without complaint when Dark Schneider asks her to get rid of her sword and armor, much to the dismay of Bon Jovina and his knights. She seems to be second guessing this compliance once she starts tugging downward on her tunic.
  • Skirts and Ladders: Protests about being asked to climb a ladder first before D.S. in Gara's stronghold. Dark Schneider refuses to put up with this display of princess daintiness and immediately plants her ass over his shoulder in a fireman's carry while he climbs up, leaving her more hot and bothered than if she had just gone along with "ladies first" instead.
  • Suck Out the Poison: Played for eroticism as much as it is for drama. Dark Schneider even presses down on her head with his hand and asks her to suck the wound just above his hip harder.

    Lars

Voiced by: Masami Kikuchi (1992 OVA), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (2022 ONA), Gary Dubin (1992 OVA, English dub) Zeno Robinson (2022 ONA, English dub)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lars_stand.png
Lars is a baby dragon who, for some reason, can speak and communicate with only Dark Schneider. Though once a companion of Gara, he started to accompany Dark Schneider after his resurrection. It seems there is history between the two...

It was later revealed that he's the crown prince of Meta-llicana and brother of Princess Sheila; Lars Ul Meta-llicana, who fought Dark Schneider 15 years prior.

  • Anime Hair: Had this in his human form.
  • Butt-Monkey: Most comedic scenes involving him has he criticizing Dark Schneider's actions and plans until it ends with him getting smacked right in the face for his trouble.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: His current dragon appearance was a result of a curse from using the Prototype Dragon Knight armor to fight against Dark Schneider.
  • Fairy Companion: Sort of fills this role for D.S. despite being a baby dragon.
  • No Hero to His Valet: Has absolutely no problems with telepathically busting Dark Schneider's chops, even if it earns him a retaliatory boot or two.
  • Practically Different Generations: To his younger sister Sheila as he was shown to be in his late teens/easrly adult years when he fought Dark Schneider 15 years ago when she would have been a toddler at the time at most.
  • Talking Animal: Downplayed, he can talk and communicate using telepathy but he's only able to do that with Dark Schneider - to everyone else he just warbles.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: In his real human form, he used to be a handsome young man with black hair and was 186 cm tall.
  • Warrior Prince: Is revealed to be Sheila's older brother Lars, the former Crown Prince who previously fought Dark Schneider to a standstill 15 years ago.
  • Was Once a Man: Was the human Prince of Meta-llicana, but was transformed into his baby dragon form as a result of a Dangerous Forbidden Technique he used to beat Dark Schneider 15 years ago.
  • You Remind Me of X: The knights escorting Yoko during the Lucien recovery mission remark that it's funny and a bit ironic that this baby dragon shares a name with Princess Sheila's brother, Lars Ul Meta-llicana. 15 years prior, this Lars used forbidden magic to become the Dragon Knight in order to fight Dark Schneider on equal terms. This sacrifice which presumably cost his own life and paved the way to Dark Schneider's sealing made him a legend to the kingdom of Meta-llicana.
