- Adaptational Heroism: He is based on his main comics counterpart rather than the one in Spider-Gwen who was a villain.
- We Used to Be Friends: He and and Uzu Sanageyama worked under Kingpin and had a good friendship. That is until Kingpin had Matt's father killed which ruined everything.

Here, Garia is an Angel.
- Big Good: She provides the Children her powers to be able to fight the Angels. She also created the giant mech, Leopardon which is currently used by Shinji Ikari.
- The Chooser of the One: She is the only one that gives and takes away the Spider powers. NERV's attempts to depower Shinji and give the power to Kaworu Nagisa did not go well as they expect.
- Gender Flip: In Spider-Man (Japan), Garia was a male. In ''Spider's Thesis, he is change to a female.
